Need help with the bowgun.

TBH, I don't really like gunning- I find it doesn't require a lot of skill. Sure, it's efficient... I just think you'll find it boring af.ter a while.

To answer your question- I don't think stat atk up (nox armor) really affects you much- to the point of being useless if you don't use it exactly right. Constitution, meh for gunners. On the other hand, Evade up is really useful, as are the Diablos skills if you're pierce gunning. Lagi+ for rapidfire element gunning, Gaan for status (recoil down), Jhen+ for clust... Some skills are excellent for gunning... others, not so much.

Mix and match all you want. Every part has its uses- Jhen's good for status, and there's a barrel for every element (rapidfire). It's complicated, and since TriDB has gone, you'll have to use the wiki or in-game info for each individual piece's stats.

Lol I even find myself doing it all the time. Spellin after as aftr instead. Jus bc I'm inthe habit of it. I want to get into gunning as well. However I have no gunner armor or guns. However I plan to wait until I'm hr 51+ to start on it at all. I'm planning on getting evade +2, element atk up and reload speed +1/2 as my element armor. Remnants from mhfu, cept reload speed up instead of autoreload

Status up and critical eye don't really match on a gunner set. Id go for recoil down with status up. So maybe mix ura+ with some giggi+
I'm pretty sure there's even a way to get reload 2 with recoil 2 And stat up
