I sold the jaggi armor for a set of full Rhenoplos. now i just need some variety in my bowgun parts to assemble a good one. hopefully one that can use crag shots.

I kinda want to get the Aquamatic Needler Barrel part, but i think i need something from the tradesman. what is the item i need? it's said to be a rare trading item. I'm not sure right now how to trade for rare items since i have nothing rare myself to trade for them. when do i start getting rare trading items (for trade with that Argosy ship) and how do i get these items? so far i've only been able to trade regular items for things like mega pickaxes (really nice imo.)

As far as Gobul goes, I am pretty close to getting the urgent for him i think. I only have the qurupeco to kill now before an urgent pops up for me to go into 4* quests. unless the gobul is an online only monster...
also that shakalaka sucker needs to stop blocking my shots...always in the line of fire. maybe i could just stop taking him on quests. then again he offers some distraction benefits.

What? Cha-Cha? ikr? he's kinda annoying, but can be useful sometimes, especially when he starts to heal you. Gobul is also offline, in fact, after hunting your first gobul, you will unlock the longsword tree at the old guy who forges weapons and armor. As for the rare items, what items do you need? Why sell it? you can keep it and continue upgrading it then when you reach HR31, you can grind for high rank G.Jaggi Items and upgrade it to Jaggi+ Armor which gives 2X protection

To get the rare items for the argosy captain you need to do the offline free hunt. Each "boss" monster produces a rare treasure you get from junior when you report back to him, from 1 to I think four stars. It doesnt matter what it is as long as it at least worth the same number of stars.

Gobul is both on and offline though Im no sure what rank he appears on. As for our little shakalaka friend you could try having him wear a mask thats support only like the bunny mask.

I think i'm rusty in tri now, because i don't remember any of those 'rare items' . Imo, an aggressive Cha-Cha is a good Cha-Cha.

Wait, if I use jaggi armor now, it can actually be upgraded into jaggi+ armor later? how so? i though it was upgraded using armor spheres up to some point. not with high rank jaggi parts...though this game might be different, and i have not really tried upgrading any armor yet. will be interesting to see how it works. but the jaggi armor is gone now lol. unfortunately

by free hunt do you mean some option that can be chosen at the main menu of the game? or is it the free hunt in moga woods in the village career mode?

Also how do i get new masks for the shaka? Argosy regular trading? or are masks rare trading items too?.

Yes, but once the armor piece Max level, when you try to upgrade that piece again, it will need diff materials. And for the Jaggi Armor, yup, High rank Jaggi Parts. And Jaggi Armor is GREAT as a starter armor for high rank. Just be patient, bird wyvern stones are pretty rare Free hunt is when you exit the village. You have to hunt specific large monsters for them to appear, the large monsters that appear are...
1.Great Jaggi
2.Quropeco
3.Royal Ludroth
4.Lagiacrus
5.Rathian
7.Rathalos
Again, they appear after you've hunted them down for the first time. After you finish the quest to hunt them down, talk to the chief's son and he will say: 'A **insert monster name** Has appeared in the woods!' and they will be added to the Moga Woods Forecast, usually being juggled around(WHEN THEY SPAWN, not literally ). A great way to farm Moga Points or whatever and rare items is to hunt large monsters in the woods. R.Ludroth is PERFECT in farming for Rare commodities, and even cash.

EDIT: You may also buy the High-rank Armor piece, but more expensive. And you can change the color of the armor designs if it is a high-rank piece . WHITE HELIOS ARMOR FTW!
It's called 'armor pigment'.
EDIT AGAIN: High-rank armor often have a '+' at the end of their names (Bone Mail+) But THAT'S only for upgraded gear. There are some monsters you don't encounter offline.

I'm not sure if you know this but all this + and high rank armor is online only. A lot of the things you're looking for you'll find in the rest of the game. If I were you though I'd go online after gobul because I found it boring to do all the monsters again. After you get to high rank online you can easily breeze through offline with stronger weapons. the_Famas_pro pretty much summed it up, but upgrading the low rank armor(a.k.a over forging) only gives it higher defence they keep the same skills and number of slots. Not all high rank armor has the same skills and number of slots.

You get most masks from ether the Argosy captain or unlocking them when you get farther into the story mode. Not sure if theyre rare trades or not, though some of the dances are.

EDIT: finally got the gobul urgent. going to prepare for it well. made some new bowgun assembly. a royal ludroth frame and royal barrel along with the qurupeco stock. i like the pellet capability (and the water elemental might come in handy later with uragaan). Still trying to upgrade the attack on that bowgun to max Lv 4. one spongy hide away.

the pellet shots should be able to take out the gobul's flashing lure right?
after my preparations are complete, i'm sure that fish is going down

Also a question on the moga woods:
Do the large monsters encountered in moga woods respawn after i kill them? Say the forecast for today tells me that there is a royal ludroth in the woods. i go and kill it. after i kill it, will another one spawn once the dead one fades away/decomposes? or is there only one royal ludroth per moga woods quest? thanks for the help!

In a single day, hunting one large monster in the forest, entering moga, and returning to the forest again will make another one spawn.
Umm...i use explosive(crag) shots,tbh, but that's just me. Water yes, uraagan will SUFFER.

MAKE THAT SONOVABITCH SUFFER!!! CUT HIS TAIL AND CRACK HIS CHIN BEFORE YOU KILL HIM

A little tip: Make a full set of Barroth or R.Ludroth Armor before engaging gobul, could help. Also, in the flooded forest, after going out of the camp, there is a path to the right that leads to Area ***???*** (I FORGOT WHAT NUMBER THE AREA IS ) Then, it leads to the place that Gobul always spawns in. BUT. Gather a frog fro the bush first. Back in MHFU, if you knew how to fish out that giant walking fish, then, yup, the same method applies to the Gobul.
1.Go towards the water, stand on the lily pads.
2.Equip the frog
3.Fish
4.Watch as Gobul jumps onto land and attack him
