no, just, NO.

Cap guru can be useful for a few reasons besides not killing the monster on accident.

for example, you could be like sapphire here who has trouble with monsters (or who used to at least) and you could use it to end the quest quicker since monsters are ready for capture some time before they even start limping.

Or, when you are doing kill quests of monsters and capping them instead. Why would you do that? well some quests have subquests for the things you are trying to get, like a peco's flintstones or rathians head (which give break rewards) and I think capping helps to improve your chances of getting that specific material, be it a plate or flintstone.

so yeah cap guru =/= unhelpful at low rank, why do you think they put it on bone mail?

yes, BUT it will blink a couple of seconds/minutes before limp. By the time u set a trap and try to get it in, it might limp away, thus wasting a trap, especially if its something that flies a lot around like los or even peco. Why they would put it in bone armor? Yeah i would say its useful, but atsm a pain in the ass. Why try gemming something that helps u know to cap when it limps and u could gem a better skill?

because, if you get a monster into rage at the same time its ready for cap, it won't limp, it'll stay and finish the fight.

think im finally getting the hang of things, captured the G.J after two tries first time i accidently killed it second time i got it, and killed the peco in less then 20 mins with the help of cha cha >.-.> still killed it though

killed a wah now o.-.o also woot killed R.ludroth no issues

and now im starting to get slightly annoyed, all is going well online, create own room, people join we go hunting and all of a suddent people apperantly think its a free for all or something... not even standing near anyone (standing near the tail area or either of the back legs) and all of a sudden i get hit over and over by members of the party not the monster.. so now my stamina is down to zip and i get slammed by the monster (three seperate times three seperate monsters) i know this due to the fact my health didnt go down till the monsters hit me this is aggitating... another thing apperantly i help people do the quests they want then when i would like to try to get past hr 8 everyone says they are to busy i can understand but at the same time i feel a bit used ~.-.~

edit: sorry about the small rant i added in... took a break for a bit got back in went alot smoother.

It's more than common I would say. I used to have a lot of issues with disconnecting a year ago. And when I do play, I always see at least a couple of people drop at some point.

Is it fairly common for connection to dropout on everyone? Is that kinda expected among the online Tri community?

I played with some people today, and sometimes the connection fails and I have to restart my wii and everything.

not Really on EVERYONE, mainly just people who's connections waver.

also not many know this, but if someone gets glitched, like into a wall and their hunter is vibrating or stuck halfway into the ground, (which I've seen happen to someone) the Cities have an "Emergency Reboot" where they will disconnect everyone in the city, back to the tavern first (so you don't lose your stuff) then to the game menu.
pretty convenient.

do they skip out on doin your barroth quest? noobs tend to stay away from barroth
