MonsterHunterTri-NEED HELP!!

Hey guys,Im new to Neoseeker,been playing Tri for a good while(First completed offline-including armor/weapon grinding)then headed online,Im currently HR 32,and Im feeling a little overwhelmed stepping into advanced. One thing I find daunting is I spent weeks attempting to get several sets of armor Ive been wanting,as in my best sets,in the order I got them
Full week and then some-Lagi,2 Weeks-Barioth,3 hours-Helios,4 days,Yamato. I use the Switch-Axe,Hammer,and Longsword,best with the Axe,Hammer second,LS 3rd. Anyway,Im pretty overwhelmed because after a week full of grinding I felt so accomplished,here I have this kick-ass Barioth armor,Im finally able to manage my items the right way,just got my weapon combo's down,Im finally feeling on top of things-when I hit rank 31 Im positively daunted.
1. Because my armor Ive worked so hard for,and weapons-has been made obsolete,as have most of my weapons. Monsters I once had no problem with are getting rid of 1/4th of my health in 1 measly bite.
To upgrade my armor to make it into + is expensive money and recourse wise,and then I gotta somehow find a Hrd.Armor Sphere.
To make things worse I end up failing a quest every other time because a damn Deviljho will decide my legs taste great and randomly pop outa the ground and maul me to death. I need some help and advice.
Armor sets Im currently using-Barioth,Lagi,Ingot,LocLak/Jaggi Mask(rare recourse farming),and Yamato.
However I cant figure out what to gem out my Yamoto set with.

Weapons I specialize with-Switch Axe,Hammer,Long Sword
Heres what Im asking for-simplified:

Armor/Weapon tips based off the sets and weapon preference I listed.
What to gem my Yamato for and whats it good with??

HELP ME!!

As far as best armor/weapon combo:

Axe-element up and evasion
Both high and low rank lagi and barioth are good

Hammer-marathon runner and focus
low rank barioth and any yamato or barroth armor work well

LS-element/status up,evasion,razor sharp, and focus
low and high rank lagi and high rank bnahabra,barioth or yamato

All three benefit from atk up and handicraft

As far as early high rank armor you could try for peco,jaggi, or reno armor. Or you could farm low rank peco and over forge it into high rank, that should be easier that farming high rank peco. Low rank lagi and barioth are worth over forging later since theyre the only armor sets with those combinations of skills.

These are all really helpful tips,thanks so much! But uh,one more thing-whats over-forging and whats the best way Ill be able to farm stuff to do this? Also,since Ive gotten my Barioth armor(the act in itself is simply an un-natural cruelty)its been my fav set besides my Helios set and Lagi set,should I get my Barioth into plus or just..over-forge it,as has been mentioned?
Also Ive wiki'd the 2 highest armors Vangis and Alatreon,are those any good? Alatreon sounds great with its Blightless perk,also how hard are these two to make?

Also I usually make armor before i make weapons, is this a good tactic? I often find making full sets takes longer,and making weapons only requires 3 to 5 run throughs of various quests,so I grind to get the armor first,THEN do the weapons.

Also I attempted to gem out my Yamato for recovery,while it was nice to see my red bar go green alot faster,it didnt help much when getting chased by a pissed off + barroth. Also-is every lvl 31 player an IDIOT?! LAtely Ive been trying to take down barroth+ with friends and random hunters,however my friends havnt been on so Ive been trying with others near my rank-only to have them apparently forget how to dodge-heal,and when a great jaggi or jho pops up-decide to go and attempt to kill that instead-only to get killed by the Jho,and EVEN THE G.JAGGI-HOW THE HELL DOES THAT HAPPEN?! Sure-if ur lvl 5 and under-but at lvl 31?! COME-ON-and the people Ive been playing with dont even know how to use their weapons right,what is going on here?? I shouldnt be going through a healing horn and 3 life powders a quest-at 31 they should be able to look after themselves well enough-yet there they are showing up in lower rank peco armor(upgraded to only level 3)with low tier fiery s&s,bone hammers/axes,and general low rank stuff. Do they not know how to grind on/offline?? I madeit a personal mission to have some higher class armor before I hit lvl 15,so I whent grinding offline while my internet was down. I would grind offline at 0-5 as well to get better armor,I see people coming in at rank 0! Who does that?? And some didnt even do the tutorial,and Im sitting their-in a room requesting rank 18 and up ranks(for farming lower rank monster parts-for weapons)and a level 5 and a level 0 come in,pick a shroom quest,ask my friend to join,and then ask how to play and the controls-while simultaneously keeping my 2 other friends from joining. Im getting tired of all the brain-dead players Ive been encountering. I stared going to Recruiting so I could have high rank only-but then I get the morons I listed earlier,and the people who just hunt Gobul all the time. Im getting very aggravated. Sorry about the rant-just REALLY needed to vent.
Also,I have a quick few questions-
Should I get lagi+ or over-forge it?
Should I get Barioth+ or over-forge it?
Mind helping me out? If you would like to join me I dont die very easy,I know my stuff and got most combinations for stuff down,and Im always carrying Life Powder and some stat-horns.

Thank god Ive found a fellow Gobul hater. I understand when people want the armor-but lets face it theres WAY better armor(like-Barioth!)Plus not only is Gobul predictable-but its mouth is so f***ing huge you can barely dodge it-so you essentially know JUST when ur gonna need another potion or two. Its worse than fighting a Diablos(Cutting off its tail and horns made me lol) Would you like my hunter ID? Im usually on around 3 or 4,Im currently rank 32,however I may end up getting demoted if these morons Ive been encountering continue to join me-high rank-or not.

Keep the low barioth armor. With the jaggi mask and a good pro transporter charm you could make a set with marathon runner,pro transporter,good luck, and evade+2, makes a good armor set for egg/powderstone runs.

And to answer your last question, you can only play with people on the same server as you. Im on the US server though, so feel free to add me if you like.

Also,how exactly do you over-forge? Can anyone tell me precisely what Ill need to upgrade my reg armor lvl 6 to 7??
