One of the newly added features to The War of the Lions is that all of your basic human characters say something when you select their name a press select in the Party Roster Menu. Previously only story characters and Boco were the only ones that talked but now each human member of your party has a distinct message when you click on them. Sometimes they give you hints too, for example Cornell informs you that fire magic does less damage when it's raining. And Ladd suggests that the higher your Bravery the more likely reaction abilities are triggered. Some characters make pointless comments like Elsebee who does not wish to encounter any Malboros and Zell says he wants to quit smoking. I like the idea of further giving your recruits more character. Has anyone in your party suggested anything helpful or funny?

Yeah, actually every human name in the data base as far as I can tell has a unique quote, although some are relatively similar to others but not exact. Actually to be more clear, while browsing your Party Roster press select on the desired character and then navigate the pointer hand over the the name field and they will talk. All the story characters talk, and then the new feature, your other human characters talk too. Some in my files have said some relatively strange things. Anyways I look forward to hearing what other people's characters are saying. Personally, I know it sounds strange, but i usually base my party around what they say.

Alistair: "Beware of items that appear to be the same."

Alicia: "Remember, while you may be able to attack from above, it may not be possible to attack from below."

Lavian: "Be on your guard! You cannot perform actions in water of depth 2 or greater."

Ladd: "The higher your Bravery, the higher chances a reaction ability will be triggered!"

Raffa: "Faith offers no shield against Sky Mantra, for words are treacherous things."

Marach: "Neither Mantra deals great damage to those of little Faith. Believe and you shall be saved!"

I usually recruited new members just to read what they said until I got bored and just stopped doing it. I'm more concern in my Onion Knight team ATM.

When I started to play I had no idea what was concealed to I just thought it had to do with his idiotic thoughts.

Some fairly pointless ones...yet they add character to the game and are entertaining...

Davyd: "How lonely it is to be out in the desert all by oneself." (There is also another David, <-spelled like this- but I don't know his quote)

Kain: "I am the eldest of twins." (there is also another Cain <- spelled like this- as from the Bible but I don't know what he says)

Dalmas: "Come! I shall trounce the lot of you!"

Chamberlain: "I hear Ordallia was long ago spelled 'Ordalia.' Such things change over the ages."

Cenota: "Trees may shield you from the tips of arrows."

Estrild: "What is this thing we call freedom?"

Argath: "'Rend' skills can destroy your opponent's equipment." (I hate that guy, but I didn't know he can learn Rend Helm and Rend Armor as squire abilities)

Disappointed there is no Glen, Serge, Pierre or Norris in WoL. I only found those names in the original-PSx version (along with Edgar, Cole, Leon, Vincent, Garnet...among other old school names). Just because they haven't popped up yet doesn't mean they are not in the WoL but so far,they have not yet been seen so I have my doubts...

I was trouncing around in Midlight's Deep and recruited a couple of the less frequent characters...

Eschiva: "Do you know of any shops nearby that sell Bacchus Liqueur?" (every once in a while a drunk joins the party...a Summoner no less! thought that was funny)

Etgar: "Perhaps combat is easier if one pays attention to compatibility." (I assume his name was changed from Edgar in the Psx version )

Crestian: "One cannot laugh off one's errors on the battlefield."

Serendipity: "I was born near the Siege Weald." (I have to say I liked Sweegy Woods better!)

I have found some really interesting and what appear to be seldom seen character names in Midlight's. I actually got rid of my Tiamat and Wildboar so I could get them...
