I know that it seems impossile to acquire the Genji Suit of Armor in the P.S.P version of FFT:WOTLs, but do not despair.....

I have a possible means of obtaining it. I know how to get around the Marqis's "Shirihidori" reaction ability.

You just lower his Bravery and then use your fastest ninja to steal.

BrokenKnights, I agree with what you said. In fact, I did just that. I made Orlandeu learn the Mystic ability 'Trepidation', then used it on Elmdore to lower his Bravery,

and made Ramza a Ninja with steal and Concentration, and tried to steal his Masamune, but it still said 0.00%.

I'm sure there's a way to get the stuff, because Square Enix wouldn't put it in the game, or the samurai 'Masamune' spirit ability, just to taunt us.

I have tried lowing his bravery, using status effects, using a female saggitarius ninja with steal and concentration then brawler, using balthier pilfer abilities with concentration then brawler.

So, earlier today, I emailed Square Enix, to reply to my email address, with an explanation for how it can be done, or, if it can't why put it in the game?

I will tell you what they say when I get their reply.

Actually, in the PSP version I think Elmdore has an innate (unshown) Safeguard (which I heard was true in the Japanese version of the original Final Fantasy Tactics, but removed in the English version), rendering you unable to steal any of his equipment. Most of his equipment can be obtained from new sidequest battles involving Reis, I heard, and through the multiplayer.

yes, I have the only published walkthrough guide in europe, or so I was told by the guy I bought it from on eBay.

I know that after reading the 'Lionel's New Liege Lord' rumor (only available after fight at Bevenia)from Gariland, Dorter, Goug, Bervenia or Limberry Castle, you can move to Lionel Castle and win the Genji Armor at the end of the battle.

Also, the book states that the Genji gloves can be obtained as a random prize from winning a rendesvous. So, perhaps the other parts may appear there too.

So, Salvador_Dog, have you actually got some Genji Armor from a Rendezvous then?

I know people are saying that Elmdore has an 'innate' safegard ability, but I believe it was due to a mistake by the game makers. I think they meant for the steal success rate to go up as the Br is lowered, but they must have set a permanent flaw that makes it 0.00% all the time, now.

I just recently bought a router and am waiting for it atm but once I get it can I play a rendouvow or w/e it is called by myself and set up an easy battle to master each and every skill without levelling?

I got an email back from SQUARE-ENIX. They won't tell me why it seems impossible to get the Genji gear. They just said I should ask other players and check other forums and guides, etc.

Ok. Yeh, thanks, I did that last night. So, all the other bits, the Genji Shield, Helm AND Gauntlets are found in Rendezvous? Aren't they random prizes in both, Rendezvous AND Melees?

Ok, I'm gonna go out on the limb here. I THINK....

that the only way to get all Genji Set equipment is through Rendezvous and Melees. But Genji Armor and Masamune can both be obtained in the battles for the Special Event of Beowulf&Reis.

This would also mean, that the only way to keep at least 1 Masamune AND unleash its Iado ability, is to get more of them from Rendezvous and Melees.

Phew, that is so much for me to take in, all at once.
