Chocobo Hunting

Lately I've been hunting Chocobos just to finish the "Rancher Request's" Quests... Got all of them EXCEPT the Red Chocobo... Now the Final Fantasy Wiki says I can find on at the Khitil Sans on Mistleaf. I've spent 2 in game years trying to hunt one, but to no luck...

any tips for those who fished one or ACTUALLY uses the Chocobo Knight?

The easiest place to find the Red Chocobo that I have found is in Goug, actually. The random encounter "For A Feather" has one. Just be careful, as it will sometimes be Redhawk, a level 99 chocobo who can do quite a lot to an unprepared team. Beat him, and you will get the amulet needed to summon Shemhazai.

I found the White Chocobos in the Rupie Mountains, during the spring, IIRC. Don't remember the encounter, sorry.

I don't know anyone who actually uses Chocobo Knights, though. They have one good feature, the ability to use any melee weapon (some people like their speed growth, but since every job is technically capable of maxing speed, I don't care much about it), but other than that, they are far too restricted. Not only are they unable to use other skills while on a chocobo, but they also can't even use all of the chocobo abilities. By the time you get them, any unit that is restricted to four abilities is basically completely useless. If they could master Chocobo abilities and eventually use them together, they'd have a chance at being useful, but since abilities are dependant entirely on which Chocobo they are riding, they are just not useful. At all.
