The basic plot is inspired, but they just sort of rushed things in the end. I was really wondering how they were going to deal with brother. I just expected a little more. Seems like the kind of thing you'd do over 4 or 5 missions instead of a single little heart to heart. I don't know, have things get really ****ed up for him or something.

Level cap is 99.

Laws are pretty much minor now; only really need to pay attention if you want the best possible treasure or figure you'll need to revive a lot.


Judge Points are replaced by a gauge. Filling it gives you bonus exp/ap (MVP) and lets you use the Espers (like TA's Totema)

Actually level cap at 99 might be a good thing. Level 5 death

im excited that the level cap is raised, but the one thing that i really hope they change is simply make it harder, IMO you could clear most of the levels with one or two solid characters, a pally with dual-sword could pretty much solo the whole game.

Yeah, the point was to actually use the entire party instead of a couple of characters, but I guess some people didn't realize that if you have it so that enemies' stats can be adjusted by level you can keep things pretty even throughout the entire game.

AND level 3 def-less, that's the only spell my Marche needs to have to master blue mage, that and bow combo are all he needs to be complete.

Yeah, the game got extremely simple once you had characters above level 37, at that point DS pallies and Sins finished the game for you.

Why would you want a bigger clan?

Big clans mean you have less work on individual members. People level slower and gain abilities slower.

What would really be awesome is if they reintroduced the option to have monster in the clan. Not this morpher BS, but characters that stand on their own.

I disliked the juge/law system as it was implemented in FFTA. If they made it a little easier to identify the forbidden skills it wouldn't be so bad. I always found myself confusing the 10 different various sword types so I was always using things on accident. Maybe if they shaded a forbidden ability red. Its been a while but as I recall it was difficult to check a characters weapon type while in battle, so if you forgot if that was a greatsword or a katana you were screwed.

Ambiguity concerning mechanics always sucks. You always love things like accidentally healing an undead or losing a character because of the assumption that tottema are free of laws.

because i always hated that i would loose the dispatch missions because i didn't want to send the people that i trained, i only use like four/five people throughout the whole game, (but i like to use some people two or three times in battle so that their chances of success are higher) but i never send my trained people out on dispatch

All of the "greatsword, dark" descriptors could be found by pressing select on the ability or weapon.

As far as difficulty, the new MP system affects usage of certain abilities, and the enemies tend to have more skills etc. But you can still wipe things out with Paladins and such. There's quite a few new tricks from the new classes as well.

There's also a hard mode, but from what I hear it just ups the enemy attack/defense by a percentage.

On dispatches you have to pick the unit that jumps up and down. Certain classes/races are favored; Terence has a detailed guide on each mission.

I enjoyed the Law system and I'm glad to welcome it back in this version, however the judge appears passes the law and then disappears so he doesn't roam the map like in the original FFTA. All laws are dispaled on the top screen so there always there to make sure you don't break one by accident.

You cannot rotate the field, it stays at the one angle throughout the fight but this doesn't really present a problem.

I know some people have complained that it looks like SE haven't really upped the graphics from the original, but the spell animations and job skills are pretty impressive so far, especially the summons.
The JP have been abolished instead you recieve an item when you defeat an enemy now.

Thats great that they improved the spell animations, the character sprites were okay but the spells were a little bland.

I think they should make it easier to obtain more mithril weapons. Most of my friends weren't into this game, let alone knew of it, my point being that I only got the mithril weapons from clan matches, and only got like three at that.
