So I'm out near Mt. Ulberuun... I mean Ulberrun... Ulber-- whatever, hunting Treevils for that stupid Beardy-Weirdy capturing side quest. After a few long minutes of searching, I find not one, but two Treevils and a Battering Ram. I dispatched the ram easily, send my claws-wielding martial artist (I have two in this party) to kill one Treevil and sent my fisticuffs martial artist to attack the other (who also happens to be the only one with Stone's Throw).
One Treevil died, and the other came up as taking 98 damage. The Treevil uses a Yggdrasil leaf and revives the Ram. Whatever, I just want my beardy weirdy.
So I used Stone's Throw. 11 damage. The Treevil is still alive. My other martial artist kills the Ram, the Treevil brings up the other Treevil and my team is ready for the next turn.
? Okay, I must have missed something. So I sent my martial artist to kill the resurrected Treevil and got my fisticuffs artist (His name is Rodnick) to use Stone's Throw. The second Treevil dies. The first takes damage.
But it doesn't die.
!? Well, maybe they got switched and I didn't notice. The Treevil rezzes the Ram again. So I killed the Ram and used Stone's Throw. Still not dead. The Treevil rezzes the Ram again. Then the Treevil the next turn. Then another Treevil. And more unfortunate Rams. And yet another Treevil.
Just how many leaves can one tree pack anyway!? And why couldn't my thief swipe some since it clearly had plenty to spare??
After a few rounds of this, I checked online. Did the Treevil have some healing properties I wasn't aware of? Nope. But my patience was thinning. So I simply killed both trees, quest be darned, and went after another battle.
I haven't been able to replicate that bizarre tree-sode (did u sea wut i did thar?), but it was one of the strangest fights I've ever been in. Except that one time I got myself killed by an endless horde of ghouls in a badly-thought-out plan for experience. Still.
It was weird. Did this ever happen to anyone else?
