Hero of Azeroth, your chosen faction needs you once more! World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor is coming. The expansion has made its way to the Battle.net shop for pre-order, which usually means beta is right around the corner. No specific release date for Warlords has been set, but Blizzard says the expansion is expected to be available by December 20.
Enjoy your well earned rest after succesfully dethroning Garrosh Hellscream as Warchief of the Horde, but be sharp. The Dark Portal will soon be turned red and a new enemy will surface: the Iron Horde. Hellscream somehow escapes his punishment in Pandaria and makes his way back in time to when Draenor wasn't the barren wasteland that was explored in The Burning Crusade. How Garrosh escapes will be covered in Christie Golden's World of Warcraft: War Crimes novel which is scheduled to come out this summer.
Warlords of Draenor is currently shaping up to be one of the largest World of Warcraft expansions to date. The maximum character level will soon be 100, making it the first ten level expansion since Wrath of the Lich King's release in 2008. Returning adventurers don't need to fear the mighty level cap, though. Blizzard will be offering a free boost to 90 along with the purchase of the expansion so everybody can jump right in to the action. The Iron Horde is a threat to Azeroth almost as great as the Lich King himself and neither the Horde nor the Alliance have time to wait for their finest warriors and mages to work their way through a whole 90 levels of old content.
The new expansion will also be introducing garrisons for each player, which are an expansion of the farm from Mists of Pandaria. Item stats will be squished downward prior to the expansion's release, making the numbers easier to manage for everybody. Older races will be receiving makeovers as well, bringing their designs more in line with the much more detailed Pandaren race that was released with World of Warcraft's last expansion. Racial abilities will also be reworked as various combat ratings have been either reworked or removed entirely, making some racial passives obsolete.
Beta and release date details for World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor will be shared as they become available. Preordering for the $49.99 expansion are available now, though a $69.99 digital edition is also available which comes with some fancy bonuses to unlock for all Blizzard games. Lok'tar ogar!
