DPS help?!

Hey there voixxy, and welcome to Neoseeker! I'm glad you chose to ask us for help here. I'm even more glad that you're playing a rogue. Aside from warriors, rogues are my class of choice. <3

Let's see what I can do to help out here:

• Enchants. For PvE, you do not need a weapon chain. Disarm is only an issue in PvP. Look into Dancing Steel for both weapons. Bonus Agility = bonus DPS.
• Poisons: Deadly Poison, not Wound. As with a weapon chain, wound poison's niche is PvP. Deadly Poison has a significant impact on DPS output. For my guild mate's combat rogue, Deadly Poison consistently ranks on Skada as one of his top 5 sources of damage. You definitely want to be using it at all times.
• Reforging and gems. Your belt, for example, has hit/resil and you're reforging hit to mastery. For prismatic sockets, you generally want pure agility unless you really need the hit or expertise. Look for an agility/hit gem or go straight for a Delicate Primordial Ruby. As a combat rogue, your stat priority after hit/exp cap is:
  • Haste
  • Mastery
  • Crit

You do not want to be missing out on any haste. However, your caps come first. Your pants, for example, have crit, mastery, and haste (after reforging crit). You're not quite at the expertise cap yet, so change that reforge to expertise from mastery instead of crit. The closer you are to caps, the better. All secondary stats are pointless if you can't hit anything!

Next, onto your rotation. As combat, you've got the easiest rotation of any rogue to handle. This is your priority list:

• Ambush to open and whenever you Vanish
• Revealing Strike to keep the debuff up
• Sinister Strike for CP
• Slice and Dice at all times
• 5 CP Rupture with less than 3 seconds remaining on the last rupture. You do not want to clip this bleed, but unless you keep an eye on it it can be easy to let it fall off. If you reach 5 CP and your Rupture still has 3-5 seconds left, use Sinister Strike or Revealing Strike and then use Rupture right after. Thanks to Anticipation, that combo point is stored and doesn't go to waste.
• 5 CP Eviscerate if Slice and Dice and Rupture are good.

Make sure you're using Shadow Blades and Adrenaline Rush together and on cooldown. Don't forget about Kililng Spree when you've got low energy, but definitely don't use it while AR is up. Capping out on energy is actually a net DPS loss for any rogue.

One thing I would recommend you check out is an addon called SliceCommander. It'll give you visible timers for all your abilities and should make it much easier to keep your Slice and Dice and Ruptures up. Having it right in front of you instead of having to keep an eye on the boss's debuffs makes things a lot easier and you'll be able to pay more attention to the rest of what's going on.

Not a problem mate. I'm glad I was able to help you out! My rogue was my first level 85 toon back in Cata, and I was all over the legendary in Dragon Soul. I normally play Subtlety myself mainly because everyone always says it can't do PvE, so I understand what you mean entirely about keeping an eye on everything. I miss having Eviscerate refresh Rupture for me.

Do you know everything about every class? If you do that's sediment. But for those with similar problems with other classes I use Mr. Robot. It's good for maximizing dps.

Haha, not by a long shot. Rogues (subtlety is the best spec by far, btw!) and DKs are the only classes I know inside and out for all three specs. I'm currently leveling an Arms/Prot warrior, and I know Ret/Prot for pallies along with Feral/Guardian Druids. I haven't tried Holy yet in MoP.

Sir Auron, according to one of my lock friends, it's haste and crit for demonology. Mastery's just nice to have.

The reson i go for mastery over crit is because of the way mastery works for demonology. It will boost your base damage while in demon form 2.5 times. when in demon form you crit ALOT and then adding Molten Core effects you will crit every time on your soul fire so your throwing 100K fireballs Really quick. With crit your still lookign at unpredicatble damage where i am going for solid reliable damage that snowballs, yes its starts and 15 to 20K shadowbolts but by the time the boss is half life down, you can be set to start throwing 100K every 2 seconds.

That Rogue dps summary is pretty good. Make some macro's too like agility pot + trinket or damage boost CD so it only takes up one space on your action bar and is easy to just pop them all when bloodlust is up or the boss is at an increased damage taken phase.
