Druid or Pally? |
|
I have two geared 80's, 1 being an Ele shaman and 1 being a Prot warrior. I recentley got my sister to re-roll Horde on my server (from Alliance) and She wants me to lv with her. I currentley have 2 pieces of plate BoA pieces and 2 pieces of Leather BoA peices (Rogue/feral) So I seem to be at a crossroads on what to level. On 1 hand Ret Pallys look really simple and have the OP factor as far as all 3 specs but then Druid looks like it could be fun and challengeing as well.
I love to pvp as much as possible and I wouldent mind rolling healing end-game with either (since I don't got a healing toon yet)So I would as you, the community, to help with the pros & cons of each so I can determine what to level. Thanks.

Paladin. I don't even play WoW, but it has such a nice ring. PAL-UHH-DIN! Paladin.

If you are going to heal, I personally think druids are superior healers compared to pallys. They can only single target heal which i guess is good if your healing tanks. Both are really good for pvp so its more of a toss up really.

I have to agree with the druid healing statement. Pallys are great healers, when it is single target, like Neighbor said.
So if you are planning on healing PVP, go Druid.

Well healing would for sure be and end-game option. I know it's sad but I kinda want to go ret just to be overpowerd. My main is an Ele sham and pvp (unless in a battlegound) is stressful to say the least. But I can see this being a mistake. The Paladin class as a whole is Viable in any situation. Druid would take skill and some effort on every front where as Pallys seem to have it easy for all specs. Do any of you have any pro/cons to chooseing pally over a druid? I'm open to anything at this point. Thanks.

It really doesn't matter which you choose. Both classes can do everything in the game.
But, in the long run. Paladins have crazy burst damage as DPS. They are pretty much ridiculous tanks and can hold multiple mobs with ease. And they are pretty heavy single target healers. Not to mention the buffs they bring. Druids give a buff with all three components. So either way you're going to be giving 5% crit to melee/spellcasters, or you're going to give 6% healing. Trees are retarded group healers. Like, it's crazy. Bears can get upper levels of health like a Paladin or Warrior could not. See KK's screenshots for proof. Other than that, I think Innervate/Battle Res are great to have as a Druid as well. Both are pretty great though. I'd say do what most people do. Go to 20 or so, see what feels nice. Though ret gets nothing special and great until later on, it'll still feel easy. And cat form at 20 is pretty bitchin'. -------------------

I personally love the redesigned graphics on druid animal forms. It'd be hard not to pick one at this time.

Roll Druid and never have to roll another character again.

PvP as a resto druid is so damn awesome. I have almost 1k resilience. That with all of my hots, it takes a lot to kill me.

So many people are rolling druids now, at least on my server. I would assume even more are going to pop up once 3.3 hits considering the nice nerf bat Pallies got.

Sacred shield got a slight nerf for ret and prot, basically unchanged for holy. Divine sacrifice was changed around. Not really sure how those constitute significant enough nerfs to reroll druid though.

Lay on Hands can no longer be a self cast, would be what I think is the biggest change.

Yeah, MLIS got what I'd figure would be the QQ reroll change. If they do change it that is. GC isn't saying it's a for sure thing, but he's not exactly saying to forget about it either.
Not to mention Pallies are FOTM right now. Don't think that'll be the case in 3.3. I'm kind of interested to see what's next. -------------------

That change barely made it to the PTR, it was already reverted on Blizzard's internal testing build.
