	Log in to remove this sponsored message a ton of my friends tell me that say i ahve a lvl 1 warrior and i send him plate shoulders they will turn to mail...then at 40 they will go back to plate....is that true? or do they turn to mail and stay mail and i will have to get the emblems all over again at 40??? help a lost neoseeker

	Nope, that would be like saying a plate armour can be worn by a priest at low level because I would reduce itself to cloth. Cloth, Leather, Mail, and Plate are all what they are, they cannot in any way change into one another.

	i saw a lvl one warrior (last page of the newest screenshot thread) with those new white and golden PLATE spaulders......this is quite weird because it is the complete opposite of what uguys are saying....

	Unless the screenshot shows that the person is level 1 and shows the stats of the spaulders, you can't guarantee they are even Plate. Lots of equipment looks the same in the game. I'm a Rogue and wear leather, but some of the equipment I wear looks like it's plate, but it's not. Link screenshot so I can see...

Nah it's possible for a level 1 warrior to be wearing heirloom plate gear, I've seen level 18 shammys with mail heirloom shoulders on (not judging by appearance either, it's from his char. page).

	He's got it wrong, if you send the Valor shoulders down to a level 1 they will convert to mail.

	They turn into Mail till you can wear plate then they turn into plate when you can use plate.... I've just been farming Hierloom gear for every new alt i'm making. Got the Hierloom shaman shoulders to on my shammy... -------------------

	Same with the Herod shoulders and blah blah blah. Your friends are right. When a players inspect them, it shows they are plate, but when the person with the shoulders go to their character sheet (C) it will show them as mail.

	It sort of annoyed me when these were released because it proved that Blizzard was capable of making armor type dynamic on gear. There's a lot of mail or even plate that my balance druid wants to use and yet I can't for some reason. It's not because they don't want me to have nice gear, it's because encumbering the game with too many pieces of armor is silly. [Prized Beastmaster's Mantle]: Enhancement PvP shammy shoulders. [Mystical Pauldrons of Elements]: Elemental PvE shammy shoulders. [Aged Pauldrons of the Five Thunders]: Elemental PvP shammy shoulders. Some of them can also be used effectively for hunters.

	Heirloom gear adapts to your character. I.E. plate gear for warriors and paladins will be mail until 40, then it will convert to plate. A similar one would be heirloom main items being leather for hunters until 40. -------------------
