i'm new to the game, and can't find a bug-a-boo in the first realm. he's the only one i need from the first set of ids. anyone?

Are you sure it's Bug-a-Boo? If I remember correctly, the only way to get Bug-a-boo is to get a fire type (may have been ice type) enemy, and break crystals at the end of one the areas which lead you to an area where you can find Bug-a-Boo... so you may want to just wait till you have one of those types before you try to get it.
