there are 4 new types of investigation for the directors cut.
taken from this site:
quoteThe console original was criticised for a lack of variety once you progress into the game. Ubisoft is trying to iron out the complaints with four new investigation types.
And they are; Archer assassination, rooftop race challenge, merchant stand destruction challenge and escort challenge.
In the words of Technical Lead Charles Beauchemin: "The archer assassination requires the player to assassinate the archers in a dedicated zone without being seen. In the rooftop race challenge, the player will meet an informer and will have a set amount of time to reach a second informer.
"In the merchant stand destruction, some merchants have ties to the assassination target and their activities must be stopped by Altaïr. Finally, in the escort challenge, the player needs to securely escort a fellow Assassin from point A to point B.
"We included 4 new investigation missions to increase the variety so in total, we now have a total of 9 investigation missions. Also, you can now skip from one city to another without going through the kingdom once you visited every city."
Sounds like they're doing their jobs then. Beauchemin also notes that Ubisoft has "modified the reaction of guards in certain occasions," such as "blending when close to a dead body".
"Also," he says, "the reaction of the guards to stealth assassination is now based on the number of NPC around you making it more realistic. If there is no one around you, guards will spot you much faster and if the crowd is bigger, you won't be spotted that fast."
sounds promising

it is the only version available for the PC, but i dont know why that matters, why would you want the repetitive version?
it isnt out yet, although it is out at the start of april. so far the release date is the 11th april, but as its been pushed back so much already i wouldnt take that date as 100% reliable.

I dont want the 'repetitive' version. I was just checking so I didnt go searching for Directors Cut pointlessly when it is just the normal box...or buy the normal box by mistake and not get the better version.
So thanks for clearing that up for me.

The fact that typing carries zero emotion helps though...I have noticed that alot of the stupid flame wars that start on here are because people mis type or mis read posts. Its quite funny when you arent stuck in the middle of it

very true - when you say something its always in a certain tone that helps to tell how the person means it, whether its sarcastic, jokey, serious, angry, etc, but typing cant put that across so its hard to see what someone means by what theyve typed.
fortunately there are such things as emoticons and abbreviations like lol to help show the meaning of youre post, so they help.
but misreading/typing posts is a regular occurence, especially by me, lol.
