The Terminogy

I figured some of the newer members might not know every term like FC, so I figured I'd put up the terms and their definitions.

G=Green Fret
R=Red Fret
Y=Yellow Fret
B=Blue Fret
O=Orange Fret

Any combination of two or more fret buttons can be made. Ex:

GY= Green and Yellow Chord.
GYB= Green, Yellow, and Blue Chord.

FC=Full Combo (Perfecting a song without breaking your multiplier or missing a note).
100%=100% notes hit.
HO/PO=Hammer Ons/Pull Offs.
Hammer Ons and Pull Offs are simply put, notes that you can play without using the strum bar. They will not have a black line around them. Especially useful in Solos/Trills.

Solos= The hardest part of the song (usually). Consists of no singing, and is the Guitar's time to shine.
Trills= Repeating notes, such as Yellow, Blue, Yellow, Blue, Yellow, Blue, Yellow, Blue.
Sustain: A note(or chord) with a "tail" behind each note. This requires you to hold onto the fret button(s) and earns you more points for that note(or chord)
SP: Star Power. Generally refers to a Star Power Path, but also used like "SP Activation", meaning the point you start Star Power.
Trigger: Note with a black ring before a series of HO/PO's.
Tapping: Playing a section of HO/PO's using both hands.
Elbow Strum: Instrumental in tapping, use of the elbow to strum the trigger for a series of HO/PO's.
Triplet: Series of 3 same-colored notes in quick succession. Generally found in series traveling up and down the fretboard. Examples:

Ex. 1: GRG is a definition of triplet.
Ex. 2: GRYGRYGRY is another definition of a triplet.
Ex. 3: GGGRRRYYYBBBOOO is the final definition of a triplet.

Scale: Series of notes(usually HO/PO's), one at a time, going up and down the fretboard. These are generally one color above or below the previous color and switch direction often.
Alternate Strumming: Commonly abbreviated "Alt Strumming", strumming both up and down on the strum bar.
Squeeze: Either activating Star Power and playing a note late or playing a note early while under Star Power to earn more points.
Blue Note of Freedom(BNoF): The first blue sustain with Star Power after Jordan's Solo on expert.

These are all the basic terms for right now, anyone can feel free to post in this thread and give me more terms, and I'll add them to the list.

Nice idea man, will really help some of the newer GH players. Perhaps you should PM Deathsythe? Something like this could be useful for a portal.

Ah, I guess I should do that. I'll PM him terms whenever I think the list is pretty complete.

Just thought of another one for the list. HO/PO = Hammer On/Pull Off.

I have added that, and solos and trills. I have given you credit for the HO/POs.

That's all i can think of for now.

Note: I'm not certain exactly what triplets are. They're either something like:
GGGRRRYYYBBBOOO
-or-
YRGYRGYRG(descending)
GRYGRYGRY(ascending)

Please clarify before adding triplets to your dictionary thing.

Wow, this might be really late, but can't triplets mean:

GGGRRRYYYBBBOOO like in BaTH's solo, or quick trills like GRG RYR YBY BOB etc, such as seen in Play With Me (Guitar Hero Encore: Rock the 80s) pre-solo? Also can be GRYGRYGRY YRGYRGYRG like you mentioned.

re: The Terminogy

I know in actual music, it's when you have three notes inside a single beat. For instance, the beat equals 1, and an eighth note equals 1/2. In a triplet, the beat is still 1, but an eighth note now equals 1/3. So basically any quick succession of three notes is a triplet.
