Alright, heres the second attempt at a Signature of The Week contest. Please read the full thread carefully before entering. If you have any questions please post them here and I will try to answer them to the best of my ability.

On Sunday a theme is chosen. Members have a week to get their entries in before the deadline. Example: On July 22nd the theme would be announced. Now there is no limit to how many may enter. When its a week after, July 29th, three judge will get together and choose a winner. After the judges have posted their verdict then I will post the theme for the next round. Basically, we want members who always do Pokemon to try something else, and the same for members who do nothing but Wrestling.

TheRules

ALL of your entries MUST be made entirely by you. No, that does not mean you can't get help/tips from others. It means you cannot take someone elses work and claim it as yours. Result in doing so can lead to severe consequence's.

Your entry MUST fit the theme. Failure to do so will get you disqualified.

You may only enter one signature.

Try not to exceed the maximum size limits for your banner, but I'm not really going to care that much if it does.

Your Signature must not contain any pornographic images of any sort. Use your common sense, Neoseeker has some younger members and I'm sure there parents wouldn't want them seeing that.

Your entry must be posted before the deadline. NO late entries will be accepted.

You can replace/edit your entry as long as it`s before the deadline. After that your entry is final and cannot be replaced.

Those are the current lists of judging. Any 3 of those judges may judge at the end of a round. The first three will be counted and then the next round will begin. This group of judges are still aloud to participate, they just can't judge for that round. If you feel you should be on the list just drop me a PM.

As for the size thing, I'd personally have it anything below the neoseeker size limit. It seems like quite a reasonable size limit in itself. Maybe the height is a bit short, but thats about it. I'd let everyone do their own sizes. I know I prefer to use different sizes of stocks depending on what I'm doing. When I'm judging a battle too, I don't see the size as any issue unless it is EXTREMELY big or vice versa.
Might want to stick a note in the judges in that post btw.

As for the header, I think that would be a nice idea and even better a good incentive for competition. Considering how far in the lead madtown is in the Graphics Rankings I don't think anyone will be having any problems with this?

Also whenever you want a thread caption added/edited PM me, it's a doddle to sort out.

Be creative with themes, don't have a rigid idea all the time, have something more abstract to work to. For example, a theme could be Euphoria. Clearly there's no set thing which conforms to that theme, but it allows the person to be far more creative. Of course, in such a broad example, you'd have to justify how your work fits the criteria.

I say what could be interesting is if, sometimes, we did something similar to the collage and give them a stock and tell them to make a banner.

Shattered, I think that's a really cool idea and we will definitely have to use that sometime. Tommorow, I'm just gonna announce a really simple theme to get this started. It'll probably be some game theme, ya know something simple. Remember, I'd love to hear your ideas for themes. I really think that's the biggest part that keeps this going. When the themes start getting really lame then it slowly dies. This first theme might be a little lame but like I said, it's only to get this started. I'm going to quickly add a few things to the first post and hopefully we can get this started for tomorrow!

You mean use a universal stock for every entry and everybody has to use that image?

Have set limitations aswell as like no brushing just filters or no text ect?

Exactly.

I disagree with strict limitations on how you make the banner. Everyone has their own style and their own methods in which to make attractive work, they should be permitted to use whatever.

And sadly I can't participate this time, I will be away all week. Sure it's going to go great though, looking forward to see how it turns out.

I'll leave you guys alone to sort this thing but I would offer one piece of advice: keep thinks simple.

Competitions and other threads like this normally fail to work because there are too many good ideas jostling around. The best ideas are often the simplest.

Alright, so heres the theme for the first round of the new SOTW. Like I said, it wasn't going to be anything special, just something to kick it off. I just want to add that I encourage you to create something new for this rather then using old work. Chances are we have already seen the banner and judging old work is lame. It's not heavily enforced but I do suggest it. You can start submitting your entry after this is posted. Deadline's Aug 5th so get your entries in! Please post all your entries in this thread and if for some reason you are unable to post then PM me and I'll post it for you. Oh, you might have noticed that it's not July 29th where you live, but I decided to go by whatever time it is on Neo. Hopefully, all goes well.
