Hands-On Impressions of Banjo Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts ... It's not so good |
|
This is the first Nuts and Bolts info I read at E3, so I'm pretty disappointed to find out that the demo wasn't recieved well. (I just read about the changes too, and can't say I'm liking the sounds of them either) ...

That's a bit depressing. .__. I'll still be getting the game, nonetheless. I mean, it is Banjo-Kazooie.

Yeah, the only reason he did not like it was because he was not a fan of Banjo. To my knowledge, people who here about Banjo, really dont like it.

Let's just hope the only reason he didn't like it because he wasn't a fan of the series. Despite this he still said he had fun with the vehicle editing

Did you guys read it? I mean seriously, it wasn't because he wasn't a fan of the series, he was,
quote Gothic Girland quote Gothic GirlHe may not be a fan of the series, but, that's obviously not the reason he claims its disappointing. quote Inuyasha 0wnzIt clearly is. I don't like Gran Turismo, but it's not like I'm gonna play the next one and think 'oh this is brilliant!' It's simple, he doesn't like the series so he doesn't like the game. ------------------- quote Kafani

If you really believe that, then your pathetic. It's this kind of thing that shows some people don't know what their talking about. Did you even read the impression? He even said he wasn't a fan of the series, but that doesn't mean he doesn't like the game. I am not a big fan of Halo, the story, and other certain things about it, but I love shooting things, so I like the game(s).

quote Inuyasha 0wnzYou shouldn't use that as an example because you can easily play an shooting game because you like shooting, not necessarily Halo. But he did like it in the end though, the beginning of all the games were the most boring part of the game but after your a fare bit into it it starts to get realy fun. ------------------- Super Mario Galaxy 2 | Banjo-Kazooie Wiki | Try Moderating This

Inuyasha 0wnz is right. The guy didn't say anything about disliking the demo because he wasn't a fan of the series. Even if he isn't a fan, it's not his job to bag a game for no reason. You can not be a fan of a certain genre, and still tell whether it's a good game or not.
Read the actual article - He clearly says why it wasn't enjoyable. (the vehicle designers was the only thing he had fun with). Anyways, here's Kotaku's hands-on impressions. It seems they had the opposite feeling. They enjoyed the regular controls, but hated the vehicles ... I really don't like the sound of the vehicles. Why not just give us a regular Banjo platformer. -------------------

I guess we're just going to have to wait until the game comes out and see how it is. People are already saying this game sucks because the concept just different from the rest of the series.
The first article says that the game isn't even finished yet and it had solid control. In addition, the author of the article seemed to have fun with the vehicle creation although it will take some time to for some to get used to. He also praised the visuals. I wouldn't say that's such a bad hands-on from somebody who doesn't even like the series. I don't see how you can interpret that article as him saying the game disappointing because the author didn't seem to point out any problems and actually did enjoy it. He eventually just got bored with it. The Kotaku article said the game was impressing at first. Then when it all came to control they said "the shine started to wear off." They had difficulty with it after only being able to play for some time. The article said the Rare-Vets made the game look very fun but when the author only had difficulties themselves. I am guessing this game just has more of a learning curve. The author says he's still looking forward to play more of the game. I don't understand how that can be interpreted as too bad. The controls take some getting used to. I know it's not perfect and it probably won't convince anybody who doesn't like the concept until they play a demo themselves at least. I don't know if I'm crazy or a complete idiot but I think those impressions were good for a hands-on preview of game that's not even finished yet. What I'm trying to say is, just don't write this game off or anything or lose interest in the game. The impressions were somewhat positive and I can't understand what the flaws were that made you say "not so good" other than the learning curve for vehicle control which is a big part of the game. Well, didnt he say something like "he was ready to pack in, but then he tryed the veichle creator." and then after that, he loved it. Seriously, I haver tons of friends who think that B and K is the STUPIDEST thing in the world, but what we have to hold with us is that they dont know what they are missing

So you have to be a Banjo fan to like the game?
I think thats completely wrong, as this isn't really a Banjo game in my mind. What I mean is, with the new mix of vehicles, I think we'll be seeing new fans who like driving/flying games. On top of that, I honestly think this is just a new version of Diddy Kong Racing. All they (Rare) have shown is driving and flying. Are we still going to have Jiggies or even a story to it...? Even if it was a "normal" Banjo game, he still can have an opinion on the game without being a fan. I can say I like Halo even if I'm not a fan of shooting or anything to do with Halo. I could say I like any game and not be a fan. Like others have said, I'm buying a 360 and the game when it comes out, but I honestly don't know if I'll like it or not just from the two or three trailers. I actually liked the first 'teaser', made me think it would be a platformer. But now that there's vehicles in the mix... I'll have to wait and see if I like it or not I guess... ------------------- ![]() Jeff Gordon FTW.

You have a point, I recently saw some of the newer trailers... seem we do keep some of the moves, but its more vehicle base. Meh, looks interesting.
