Well i know you'll just say the same as what you just said to UG/Elemental Hawk/Kiyoko, but i'd judge if you need it... but otherwise i'd be fine just being a contestant....

It would be great if I could compete, but if we're going to do a judging system and there isn't a sufficient number of judges I'd gladly judge.

Ok. Well I've been giiving this a little thought, so I'm just going to throw up a few ideas and you guys can either take it or leave it.

Item numero uno. This competition will be TEAM based. And these teams will be decided on NATIONALITY. Obviously this may be difficult to make fair, but until we know where everybody is from this will prove difficult, so lets let it stand for now.

I suggest that teams are made up of SMALL numbers, perhaps THREE or FOUR as this means there will be more teams involved, adding to the overall competition. Therefore we can divide the US up into sectors (EAST, WEST, NORTH, SOUTH) and perhaps the UK and other countries could be just chosen independantly by the candidates.

Next point leads me to the actual categories. I suggest such genres as: VECTOR ~ GRUNGE ~ PHOTO-MANIPULATION ~ 3D ART ~ BANNER ART. Bear in mind that these are off the top of my head, and any more suggestions are justly welcome.

Now here comes my INNOVATIVE IDEA.

Each team is given a set amount of 'CREDITS' at the start of the tournament. Each piece they sumbit to each category costs a certain amount of CREDITS to sumbit, lowering their overall total. This system means that a finite number of piece's can be submitted, giving some form of finality to the whole thing.

It also means that if no-one in your team can do 3D work for shit then you can forgo that category altogether and submit more pieces in another area.

When it comes to the awarding of what I have dubbed, 'FX-POINTS' the team as whole will recieve points to their total regardless of what member actually submitted the piece. Meanwhile this individual will recieve ANOTHER set of points for their own tally.

Therefore at the end of the tournament there will be the TEAM winner with the highest amount of points, as well as an INDIVIDUAL winner.

The JUDGES will mark works by the usual methods: CREATIVITY/ORIGINALITY ~ COMPOSITION ~ EFFECTIVNESS, ETC, ETC. Say each mark descriptor is out of 10, and then an average is taken at the end to determine the final score. This is then turned into POINTS and added to the TEAM total.

Every piece submitted gets a mark, and so each piece will also get points. This basically means the no-one is going to go home empty handed so to speak, and then at least everyone on the leaderboard will have some form of points.

Well there you have it. My system to running this years competition. If anyone has any changes or suggestions to make about this then please, feel free to do so. Naturally if everyone thinks this is the way forward then even better!
