This was taken at about 6:30am. The water level is now just under that Ice Creamery awning on the left (12:20pm). I was just on the edge of the water coming up from my left when I took this and would now be up to my waste at least in that same spot. 2 metres still to come (peak at 4am). Balls. The blue skies today are making so bizarre with the water still coming on strong.

Gumdrop Fields

Just at home now. The house is safe so with everything out of the shop and the water inside there is literally nothing to do for at least 3 days when the water recedes. It's hit the awning of that building as well, which puts it at about waist high at the front of ours and at least shoulder deep in the back. Place is *bleep*ed. But when you consider that 75% of the state, which is something like 8x the size of Ghana, is deemed a natural disaster zone at the moment we aren't doing too bad. At least the two houses are alright.

Sure, Quinci, just ignore giving me your msn. D:< And again, if anyone wants to check the Photoshop thread. That project is on hold until I figure out how to do stuff with it.

In the meantime, I'm trying to come up with a company logo and business card set-up for a graphic design company! (One I may even make after having a bit of schooling and further experience.)

My problem, thinking up a name. I'd always loved the "Disclose The Culprit" company name I came up with 5 years ago with it's image being a silhouette backed on a radial B/W gradient. I've kinda tried venturing from that idea because it carries such a dark nature with it and I also can't think of a way to design a logo with such a long name.

My next idea was revolving around the idea of a Suit. I love suits. I love dressing up and looking sharp. But I couldn't think of an idea revolving around suits. "Suitable Graphics" just sounds goofy. Although, I was going to replace the i in Suitable with a little stickman in a suit. :B

So, I set off to try and think of a way of fusing the word "Graphics" with something. Immediately I thought of the word Asphyxiation; another dark word which(for those of you don't know) means to be killed through an impairing of your breathing. Graphixiation - Graphics that take your breath away. Quite literally, that is what the name would mean and it's an awesome slogan I feel. But to try and create a logo for that? It's rather hard without getting dark and drab. I'm trying to make these to include in an art portfolio. So I don't want to come across as some sort of psychotic. :/ I don't know.
Basically, I need some help with a company name.

P.S. I love illustrator. Drawing in it confuses me *slightly* because of paths. Sometimes it will make 300 paths for one small drawing I'm doing. Other times it'll all be mysteriously together. But other than that, I love it.

Psh. So you ignore the rest of my novel of a post.

How do you form a bunch of paths into one in Illustrator? I'm really wanting to use this "Draw Inside" feature. But for some reason it's grayed out. And I painted a bunch of bricks and I want them all to be one unit. I thought it was making a group, but that's not it. I see all of the individual anchors still.
How do I fix this? :B

I also don't seem to know how the "Live Trace" works. Or what it does, to be honest.

I don't get it. Do you draw a sketch then use Illustrator?
