How can I make the skull/hands look less empty + any other general criticisms please. It's not finished yet

A mate of mine has a band project in the pipeline, and has said that he may ask me to do some artwork for him (probably as it won't cost him) down the line - Then again, you get what you pay for in most walks of life.

Anyway, I digress. Basically, I decided to faff around when I was bored to see if I could come up with anything for just doing the band name, and ended up with these (rather unrefined though). And so here I come for some comments and criticism, yadda yadda yadda. I'm already thinking the maybe the font doesn't really go with the accompanying fractal shape on the first one, and the blur not great on the second, but let's see what you guys have to say. Cheers.

Memento Mori - The first one is the better one. It's suitable for pretty much any colour background and has quite a striking appearance. While it may be possible to choose a more fitting font I think the existing choice still works well anyway.

The second logo has a few issues. Well, aside from being less interesting. If it's to be used as a smaller logo on a white background then you may notice from your own thumbnail that it isn't too readable. At full size you may notice that your motion blur actually gets sharply cut off in places (especially noticeable on a black background). It's a consequence of not expanding your canvas size when doing the motion blur so now it looks a little weird.

Mouschi_Chan - You might want to extract character art from their white backgrounds when you're putting them into signature banners. Otherwise it just looks weird when your background stops halfway and disappears into a sea of white. It also makes it more or less impossible to blend the image elements together. From what I can see the background looks decent enough but work on melding elements together.
