	Log in to remove this sponsored message I have a problem with downloading brushes. The brushes are already in the brushes folder but i can't see them in gimp. Help? Did i forget to do something?

	I've had GIMP on my computer for a forever, really only used it for saving images I'd already made in photoshop, since it loves small filesizes, and PS loves saving in huge ones. But now my photoshop's crapped out, so might as well try GIMP out more before spending a week arguing with a broken program. I've gotten most of the tools figured out, but I need some help with the Clone Stamp, in PS you hold the ALT button to pick a spot to mimic, then use it like a brush, that's not working in GIMP. Also, I can't find a Layer select panel of any kind, all I found was the menu that lets me move them up and down and whatnot. Which doesn't help. I remember once I had a separate window showing all of my layers when I was saving something, how do I get that to show up? ------------------- [twitter]

	My computer recently ... broke altogether and were waiting until after New Years to get it fixed, so I downloaded GIMP on my laptop. I got some brushes and some fonts and unzipped them and what not. I put both in their respected folders, and now the fonts work fine, but for some reasons my brushes aren't showing up. Does anyone have an idea why? o: ------------------- Rest your weary eyes. ❅

	Well i just downloaded gimp and am utterly confused ive tried to find guides and stuff, but all i found were things on specific parts, not just gimp in genral, any tips? -------------------

	I got gimp, and want to make an easy signature, for a first timer. Someone gave me a thread, but in there it doesn't make a signature, just a graphic with a pen. So can anyone help?

	I think I can help. Try checking here for banner tutorials if you're wanting something simpler. You want to look at the third post in that thread for the GIMP tutorials. Look for the words 'Easy' or 'Simple' at the forefront of the tutorial titles. And if you have any questions, you can always come back to this thread. Or PM the tutorial maker (if he or she is active in these forums). They may also be able to help you. For all those who still have concerns about newly downloaded brushes not showing up in GIMP, you may have to manually go into your GIMP brush folder. There you will see the folders your brushes came in. Click on the folder, then lasso around the brushes in the set. And move them to GIMP's main brush folder so that you'll have them for use immediately. Then discard the leftover folder. And don't forget, you can always check out some great free Photoshop brushes. GIMP can handle the .abr (Photoshop brush) files as well as the .gbr (GIMP brush) and .gih (GIMP animated brush) files. -------------------
