	Hey guys i'm new to this GIMP program, i literally downloaded it about 5 minutes ago. Starting off with probably the most simplest task of all, what is the best way to properly cut out an image? Say, if i want to extract a person from an image? I can see the crop tools but i'm not entirely sure on how to perfectly extract an image. Little help please? Yes, i am aware that i am a noob. -------------------

	I posted this in a thread earlier and was directed here, so I figured I'd ask the experts. I was wondering how you could lower the byte size of an animated avatar without eliminating frames. I already have it saved as GIF but is there a way to make the byte size even lower? ~Christina~ ------------------- ~I can't breathe when you look at me like that~

	If the frames have a lot of the same content, delete everything that does not change for each slide after the first one so that it is transparent. GIF transparency uses less space than color, so that's why it works. Just make sure your layers are set to combine instead of replace. Another thing you can do is reduce the amount of colors being used by going to Image and then changing the image mode to Indexed. If it is already on that, change to RGB and then to Indexed. When the menu pops up, lower the maximum amount of colors. Try doing this in gradual amounts so you can gauge how much you need to lower the quality for it to be the right file size. ------------------- www.neonshift.com

	I just got a new computer with vista on it, so i had to install Gimp again and i forgot how to install fonts. Either that or there's more folders where you install them do, so where do you install fonts ------------------- Digiport\|Profile\|

	You just install them on your computer and they'll show up in gimp. Start > Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Fonts > File > Install New Font. -------------------

	I have GIMP 2.6.1 on vista, and when I try to download GIMP brushes, they never seem to download, I did and but them in GIMP brushes folder, but it never works. Can someone help me step-by-step or the best you can please? ------------------- Shadows are lurking forever..

	I;m having trouble downloading fonts on GIMP. I was told to download them like I would with brushes, but put them in the font folder. (obviously) The problem I am having is that they dont show up.
