	hey n_n i was wondering if you could help me with something im currently designing with gimp? basicly im making a image simular to this one but i cant figure out how to make the heart blend into the background like it does on here so any ideas? -------------------

	Blend in? You mean like how the text is partially visible through the heart? Lower the opacity of the layer the heart is on. On your layers dialog box where you have your layer stack visible there should be a slider that affects the opacity of the currently active layer. ------------------- Fire Emblem Awakening - You Want It.

	I'm having troubles with fonts. I'm trying to get this font for something, but when I go on GIMP to use it it doesn't show up =\ The other one I downloaded worked just fine, but this one isn't working for some reason? ------------------- Justin -------------------

	Save it to my computer? I'm not entirely sure as this is the first time I've ever had to do something like this >.> I'm not that experienced with the computer, to be honest, I'm still learning! But it pulls up the "save, open, cancel" tab and I click save, then go to my 'download' folder and save it Is that wrong? ------------------- Justin -------------------

	Well, if you're just saving it to a folder not named "fonts" then yeah, that won't really work. The easier method is just to install the font normally. On Windows 7 you can double click a font file and then click install. If that's not an option then usually moving a font file into C > Windows > Fonts folder works too. As an alternative you could drop it into personal Gimp fonts folder, which is located in your user's set of folders. You can find the exact location by opening Gimp and selecting Edit > Preferences from the menu bar. On the left side of the dialogue box that pops up click to expand the folders option and then select fonts. This would only show the font in Gimp and not other programs. ------------------- Fire Emblem Awakening - You Want It.

	Aska, have you definitely installed it? You haven't mentioned going into the file (TrueType or OpenType) and pressing the 'install button'. Just downloading the file will not install the font, you must manually go into the file and press install, in the top left hand corner. And you don't have to download it into your fonts folder, anywhere will work. And just a word of warning, upon installing a font GIMP will stop and freeze after opening when it say, 'gathering font files'. Press close the program and when the 'this program is not responding' message screen comes up, select 'wait for this program to respond'. 	I'm just wondering, how do you make those cool backgrounds? I keep seeing these nicely blended colors, but I have no idea how to make 'em. I always make my graphics transparent because of this. Help? ------------------- Justin -------------------
