I really hate posting here, mostly because I suck at offering C&C.

Unfortunately, Default's link didn't seem to work for me. I was hoping to see it.

Hibeenick, I'm not sure what's going on in that thing. You can't really see the font, nor can you see the image in the middle of the lightning. I'm not sure what the point of the lightning is on top of... is it a field? Sorry. ._.; I'm just lost on it, maybe a bit of a description might help.



Anyway. This is my most recent thing after a big graphic slump. Playing around with different layer masks and hoping to come up with a decent background. It doesn't really seem to be working. I think it needs text, but I can't figure what would be good. It's obviously needing to be on the right side, since that's the only space. I dunno. And maybe her skin is a bit too bright.

For SOTW. I just distorted the hell out of this stock.

And a colored version i made out of boredom:

The colored version looks better. Mountains turned to water. The black/white doesn't look that great to me.

Hey, I think the coloured one looks cool. Would make a great BG if you could find a good render to add.

Sparx- I really like the colors, and the text works well. But i don't like the down arrows at the edge of the border, and i think the stock is too blended in, or colored a color way to similar to the background, and i don't like the really bright lines. Overall, it's very nice. Good job.

Another Wallpaper, for one of my favorite bands, Coldplay. Of course it's Chris Martin, and i threw in some pen tool work behind him, but I'm not to good with the Pen tool.

I have to say I love the new title. I might just steal it and use it as a Custome Title.

Tears of Insanity-I am a coldplay fan too and I have to say, that is an awesome wallpaper. And the pen tool came out looking great by the way. The circles look very cool too. But it is a little bit monotone. I suggest taking that pinkinsh/purple color from his wrist band and use that a little bit on the wallpaper.

Sparx-Nice and very vibrent color. Simple looking background which looks nice. Im not to sure about what you did with the border and the stock could use a little more blending.

Tears of Insanity-The colored version definatly. The B&W one is just ugly. Displaced the hell out of it though.

Amethyst-That one is pretty nice. Thing I don't really like about it is that it doesn't have that nice of a flow. But everything else is good.

ToI, as a whole, I love it. I was kinda like eh over the white stroke around him, but it actually works pretty perfectly. Your pen tool work came out pretty well, too. I think the part I like most are the little circles with clippings from his jacket and stuff. To me it just looks pretty awesome. Good work. :3



Fiddled with it some, and I think I like this turnout a little better. It's still got the issue with the focal being the brighter half, but overall a darker color. I threw in some generic text in the bottom right since I had a dark spot there. And I figured no scan lines. They just kinda drew attention away. As for blending her.. had a bit of an error there. I have a big issue in terms of that pretty often.

Tears of Insanity ~ Maybe distort it further so it resemble something like a big wave... and the wallpaper need some abstract or vector brushing...

Sparx ~ a bit empty on the right... put some abstract brush to it maybe...

Amethyst - your v2 is much better...

Since everyone is ignoring my DP, here's my entry for SOTW... Please comments...

My apologies for not commenting on work, but I am very pressed for time at the moment. Even so, I'll comment on as many pieces as I can tomorrow when I get home from class. For now however, I have this;

nadhiya: *bleep*ing beautiful. In every respect. Fantastic stock, effects, concept. It's all so beautiful! The one thing I would change would the font of the text. I don't think it fits that well but it's not dragging the banner down any so keep it if you like it.

Synik: Naise. A more grungy take on you're usually elegant brushwork. I like it but I can't say I like it more than say your coheed and cambria banner.

Tears of Insanity: (Banner) While the black and white version doesn't look that great, I am truly in love with the color version. The distortions used are truly epic.

Amethyst: In my opinion, the text kinda draws away from the picture. But besides that, I love the effects used, and it has a great contrast in my eyes.

nadhiya7: You used a great stock, but my favorite part is the colors. The black and white with the rising colored "smell" just looks amazing. Like said though, the text kinda brings it down. Parts of it are a little hard to see on my computer as well. But over all, still a great piece.

tj: I'd recommend implementing a clipping mask in some way shape or form.
