Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

I just finished the game and I can tell you this that I loved every minute of this game. Even those wacky side jobs were fun to do, the art direction, story line, and the boss battles; I have never played a game like this before (first of its kind). Honestly I could not put the controller down. Those who have not finished; or those who are thinking about to get it (GET IT!!!!) you are in for a treat. There should (and hopefully) be a sequel. What do you think???

This game definitely needs a sequel. I'm going through it a second time (on bitter) and with everything maxed out and I'm still getting the snot kicked out of me...a sequel is a must!!!

re: Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

I have not yet purchased the game but, i'm thinking about it [it's either buy this game or preorder crisis core : final fantasy VII] but, i can say that there probably won't be a sequel because this game is selling BADLY from what i've heard they have only sold like 30,000 something game so far which is terrible. This game does look awesome and hopefully more people start to buy it because I fear that if more people don't they will stop developing games for hardcore gamers for the wii because if this sets a bad example no one will went to end up barely selling any like this game.

re: Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

I definitely agree. Unfortunately it has not sold well in its Homeland either (Japan). 3rd Party developers are going to be a bit more cautious on developing exclusive games on the wii. If this goes happens, look forward to more crapware titles and half ass ports (dumbed down versions a la FarCry) of games from now on. We have no one to point the finger at then us gamers. But hopefully there will be a sequel to this game and definitely on the Wii.......

30,000 you say uhhuh777 you got a source. If this game is doing that badly in Japan man. I don't even see why developers should be interested in Wii.

re: Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

yeah he is rite on the Japan number (30,000, somewhere around there). But at least it sold more in the states (that really doesn't say much at the numbers). But this rate they will make a sequel on another system (which will entirely suck). You cannot get more exclusive and original than this game people!!!!! Do yourself and No More Heroes a Favor and get this game!!!!!

i'm just really depressed that this will likely be one of the only games for hardcore gamers on the wii because of it's poor sales. if it starts doing better maybe we will get more hardcore games.. who knows.

Yeah tell me about it. It would be a sad thing, I don't know how much more recognition this game needs (great reviews all across the board; exclusive and original to the Wii) oh and did i mention EXCLUSIVE AND ORIGINAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

re: Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

The game already sold (not shipped) well over 100,000 in the US and it just came out (and still a bit tough to find), so it seems to be doing well here. European pre-orders have hit 160,000 (although those are retailer pre-orders, we don't know consumer pre-orders), and assuming they all sell, it should do well in Europe, as well. It may have flopped in Japan, but it's doing quite well in the west. Seeing as the game has already sold over 140,000 copies (and it hasn't been released in Europe. Including European pre-orders, it's at 300,000), it's safe to say that this is definitely going to be Suda's best selling game yet, by far.

Anyway, shadywh0, which mission was your favourite in the game? No spoilers, please, but if I wanted to show off a single ranked mission to some people who has never played the game, which one would you recommend?

re: Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

Gogetenks that great news how well the game is doing and the pre-orders its getting. My favorite mission had to be the Shinobu Mission (School Area), Destroy Mission and theBad Girl Mission. Those are the ones that stuck out the most for me. When you pass them you will see. To me the whole game was great so I cant really find an exact mission to say "this is my favorite part". Each mission had its moments for me (difficult and funny). I'm on my third time beating this game (to see how fast I can clear it since I have everything).

re: Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

A sequel hasn't been completely thrown out the window. Suda 51 admitted that he will make a sequel if it sells well in NA/Europe... It really depends on what Suda consideres "a lot of sales" though.
For a Suda 51 game, No More Heroes sold quite well.
But for a Nintendo game, it didn't sell very well at all.

Suda is used to his games only appealing to a niche audience. I doubt he was expecting it to sell as well as the most populat Wii games. He might consider a sequel, simply because No More Heroes was pretty popular by his standards.

Maybe if Nintendo supported it's third-party titles, they'd attract a larger crowd.

We can only hope that Suda will give us gamers a sequel. This has to be one of my favorite and most memorable games (story, gameplay) to date.

re: Very Pleased with the Outcome of this Game (no Spoilers Please)

When Ico came out for PS2, it sold poorly despite being a great game, reviewers praised story and graphics like no tommorow. Still, sales were mediocre. When they decided to make another game, Sony decided to help out and advertise the game, and the game sold much more than its spiritual predessesor. Hell it made it to greatests hits! So if Nintendo would do the same, Iam sure No More Heroes 2 would sell better.
