how do you do this hunt it seems almost impossible for me i get to the last lot of espers where zodiark is then it uses final eclipse and wipes like 3 characters out then the other espers wipe out my other characters, anyone know a good gambit steup to use and what espers?

ok then were did you lvl up and how long did it take you to get to 99

I beat zodiark last night and my team was level 60ish
heres what i did!;)
Firstly i used golems for high defense against the high level enemies and carbuncles to cure (you really need them!!) and one melee rank III esper
(i used gilgamesh cause he's your best choice-if you need gilgamesh then just use three offensive characters like basch vaan and lyud and attack him at the very beggining of the battle-)
you should need these people for this to work!
penelo- keep at back and have raise as gambit
lyud- he will come into play later with vanish
these two are a must but the rest of my team is optional
vaan- hes not very essential:confused: but pyroclasm can be very useful
kytes- spam all his magic on a group:cool:
basch- his quickening is very useful


now the actual tactic!!!

first thing as zodiark wont came to get you take time to get all summoning gates except the one he is on top of...this shouldnt be too hard now you will notice to the right side of the top gate it will keep spawning groups of enemies and then they will come down and attack you once the group is big enough so go to the right summoning gate and hold your ground there which shouldnt be hard with the golems and have at least four carbuncles
now from the centre gate spawn your rank III (i will refer to him as gilgamesh or gil for short) and make him attack zodiark from the front. you should keep doing this and kill the dialblos beside him as well and lure him down slightly away from the gate. now if this is working keep doing it till hes dead but i dont think it will if your a lower level
so if gil hasn't brought him down enough try a bigger group of espers to attack but not too big as you still need enough to hold the right gate safe
now he should be down at least off of or on the edge of the top square so now is the time to act
make gil come into your main squad now at the front
im sure you would have noticed the constant attacks on the main group well in a gap have lyud cast vanish on himself and have him sneak up on to the top square in the very top corner. he shouldnt be noticed here. now have him take the gate to at least neutral and still he should not be noticed unless a drake is spawned so wait till it starts spawning minotaurs to act.now here it gets ugly and you NEED TO ACT FAST!!! once the gate is sealed zodiark WILL attack your main group but just run away and send gil to hold off zodiark also lyud should make a quick escape (he may die but just leave him) now keep a gate between you and zodiark and spawn espers to occupy him and pick off any remaining espers with gil and golems and make sure to keep the main group safe and once its just zodiark then you can spawn golems and gil to storm him or anyones you have in the main group should storm him and he should go down you dont need your main characters for this fight but one or two couldnt hurt but just not all of them
as long as one person is alive and away from zodiark then spawning constant golems in front of him should stop him goin anywhere

if he hasnt gone down seriously...level up and try again this is a full proof strategy for one of the hardest side missions
