quote HisServant77Yeah, I am a little behind you now. I am starting to get the hang of this game. Oddly enough, it seem to be almost all about rhythm. If you get into a good drift rhythm, you can fly around curves, and I totally agree with you about supercharging your Nitrous. The Auto-Rocket Start plug in is AWESOME and is really helping me to get launched off the line and into decent position to run the races. I never realized how bad I was at the rocket starting until I had the auto function engaged. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Tell the truth Chiro, how many games discs, control pads, or usb cables have you been through already? How many have you destroyed in a ball-bursting fit of rage? lol
You rant exactly like i feel when i used to play pro evo soccer 5. I havn't got very far in this game so far, i havn't had a lot of time to play it due to studying and R:FOM. I must be about 8% in but i seem to be doing well at it. I played my dad the other night and he only beat me 3 times in 4 hours of continuous racing, he probably sucks though. heheh. I'm sure i will experience the rage soon enough ------------------- Wahhheyyy! I got a BA HONS Sociology- 2:1 Get in!

Hahahaha!! Let me know when you race the Ultimate Crinale Duel!!
Actually, the game is pretty awesome, but I did manage to smash one PS3 controller during my meteoric rise to 100% completion. The Crinale Duel was the last race I had to beat before getting my 100%. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

I experienced my first minor bout of rage from the game yesterday.
I hit the control pad with my hand, i slapped it lol, in front of my dad. He didn't say anything, but everytime people see me take a huff with a game i know they are all thinking i'm crazy ------------------- Wahhheyyy! I got a BA HONS Sociology- 2:1 Get in!

Whilst a UK PS3 newb I too find this game quite difficult to get into. I love racing games and got to almost 98% in Gran Turismo 4 before I eventually got bored of it so don't really consider myself as a novice racer. I also own RR on the PSP and found it a much easier game to get to grips with.
I will persevere tho and hopefully I can make the breakthrough like you guys did and get up above 5% lol ! It appears I need to do the Manufacturers races to unlock the plug ins to really progress is this correct ? Thanks

Ok so I persevered last week and am happy to report that I have started to progress ok now. I guess I wasn't showing enough patience
Still no plug ins tho - when should I expect to win or unlock these ? Regards

You need to start varying up your vehicle usage. Because you mostly get your plug ins from manufacturers after you max out their points. You are probably like me. You look for the car with the stats you like and you just go with that one until something better opens up and then you use that one until you have something even better. This will NOT help you in this game. You need to pick the best car you can from a given manufacturer and drive it in races UNTIL you have 100 Manufacturer points (maxed out) from that manufacturer and then you need to pick a good car from a different manufacturer.
You also need to do the same with Tire manufacturers, EVERY engine upgrade, body kits and on and on and on! You need to max out every single manufacturer (cars and parts). You need to use EVERY type of nitrous, even the ones you don't like, because maxing out, lets say your Autotech nitrous will give you a reward. Then you move onto another type of Nitrous, etc. I found this out the hard way after I had already beaten the damn game and had almost no plug ins! lol I then had to go back and replay race after race after race with every car and every variation on setup until I had all the plug ins unlocked. Hope this helps. ------------------- ![]() It's official. I have truly become a babysitter on Neo. Redemption, I want my $7.00 an hour!

Wow, how do you manage to: be a doctor, run a bagel shop, and play RR7 all the way through, almost twice, getting all plug-in units?
Well the advice I can give is that you need to be determined to complete this game. It will seem hard at first and certain races will appear impossible (Crinale duel) but keep trying with new parts and race setups and I guarentee you will get there in the end. Also there are some exellent race examples on You.tube. I watched a video of the Crinale duel and was able to do it almost instantaneously after watching that. ------------------- ![]()

Thanks Chirovette - very helpful advice, haven't played RR7 for a while as I was finishing R:FOM, then Motorstorm and am now consumed by Rainbow 6 Vegas.

This game is easy..
THE ONLY VARIABLE IN A RACER IS THE TRACK. There's only 22 in this one.. learn the tracks- learn the game. Although I haven't beaten it yet, I've gotten far (btw Kamata 100 doesen't give you a plug-in)and you just have to be patient and learn the map.. Learning the map- Being able to know exactly when to drift and for how long without ever looking at the minimap. -------------------

This game is getting easier all the time for me too. It's essential to learn the nitrous points (aka where to hit nitrous) on the tracks.
