"Alright, here goes." Martel said to the man. He took his staff and held it near a deep cut on his arm. Martel mumbled some random prayer to the Goddess, & the staff began to glow. The healing aura surrounded Arch and his health began to return to normal. After a few seconds, the holy aura died down. ------------------- ![]()

"No problem," Martel replied. "Though who were those men? They looked like soldiers from the North. I don't understand why they would attack us, considering we're basically Northerners ourselves." ------------------- ![]()

When they were finished with the funeral, Lenore went off to be alone, while Rusvi and Tronur went to help the village and the wounded. Andarra went and found Arch, "How long do you plan on staying here? Sorry for sounding selfish, but I must leave as soon as possible. It is not wise for me to stay in one place long, let along in Alathr." ------------------- ![]() Credit to My Apocalypse. Go Micaiah!!!

OOC: Warning. Mega post ahead. Chapter II: The Regretful Prince IC: When Julius opened his eyes, he found himself standing in the center of the village. Where am I? I remember what happened before this, but... How did I get here? He wondered, looking at and taking pity for the miserable villagers whose houses had just been sacked by raiders from his own country. What has happened while I was gone? Has the war already begun? He thought to himself. This is terrible... This must be- Alfdrak. Of course... At first, the villagers were very angry at him, knowing full well who he was, trying to kill him armed with tools, but Julius managed to convince them to stop threatening him with their hatchets... For a while. "I know who did this." He spoke to the crowd. "Tell us who, and we might spare you!" An angry villagers shouted. "His name is Alfdrak, Also known as the Wolf of North." Julius answered. "He must be speaking the truth. The leader of the raiders did shout his name and title in the battle." One villager told the others. "How do we know he was not loyal to the North? How do we know that he was not ordered to do this?" Another angry villager shouted and incited others to violent actions. "My father would never order something like this! True, he declared the war, but that was for-" "What about you? It has become common knowledge that you have been assigned as the supreme commander of the forces of North. You!" He was interrupted. "Th-that's a ridiculous claim! You don't even know me, Alathrians!" He shouted back angrily. "Let's kill him!" One of the villagers shouted and started approaching Julius. "Don't make me do this..." Julius warned the man, pointing his open hand at him. The man just laughed. "What are you going to do, push me back? At least draw your sword!" Julius took a look at the sword he was carrying, but soon turned his look back at the man who was now running at him, his axe ready to strike. "No..." Julius said silently. Immediately afterwards the man flew backwards when the strong gusts formed by Julius' sorcery hit him. Several bones in his body were crushed. "I'm sorry..." He said, his head down, his look at the snowy ground. He kneeled on the ground, uttering what sounded like a prayer. But he was a sorcerer. Sorcerers don't pray. Unlike that of other magic users, sorcerers' powers were not of divine origin, but of their own internal strength, their "Mana," their soul. The power of sorcery was told to irreversibly corrupt one's soul. This is why some called sorcery "the Dark Arts." This was what was held a fact by most of the people on the continent and the reason why it was thought as one of the greatest of sins. Only in the heart of the Kingdom of North sorcerers were thought of as people who could actually be as good as other people. Living at such a remote place is obviously why they didn't know that the prince was a sorcerer. This also explained why they now held even greater contempt at him. "He must be a sorcerer!" They were crying. And indeed, a sorcerer he was. From afar, you might not be able to tell the difference between sorcerers and mages, except maybe from the sorcerers' ability to fight with swords in addition to magic, but this close there could be no mistake. Julius just raised his hand and the man was blown away. No-one heard him chant or see him using tomes. The villagers were dumbfounded by Julius' prayer. They thought that sorcerers would be evil without exception. Then they got the thought that he might be praying to some gods of darkness. But no. Although they didn't understand much of the ancient Northern language he was speaking in, they realized that it was obviously an apology. But they didn't understand why. They were even more confused when Julius pointed his hand at the man who he had just brought to the ground with his magic, and instead of finishing him off - like they thought would happen - he healed him. Leaf green light balls rose from the ground and gathered at the injuries of the man. Soon the pain disappeared along with the mysterious glowing balls of energy, and the bones were healed. "W-why?" The man asked while getting up, his legs shaking a bit. "You must realize that I am not your enemy." Julius tried to convince them. "But you're a sorcerer! Aren't sorcerers... evil and malevolent?" Some really ignorant person from the crowd asked. "Evil! Bah! Well... you are kind of right, but... I can't really explain why, but I am by no means your enemy. I wish you no harm! Trust me. I wish to help you." Julius told them. "So... this Alfdrak fellow..." Someone from the crowd said and stepped forward. "He is a renegade. I will make sure he is brought to justice when I get back to the Kingdom. Understand that the meaning of this war is not to bring destruction to the Alathr Empire, but to save our own people... You have been suffering from this cold here, too, haven't you?" "Yes, that's right, but..." "You are mostly people from the North. The Kingdom offers its protection for you during this war. You just have to allow our army the right of passage and you will be safe. I will guarantee this." "Thank you, oh merciful prince..." The villagers bowed to him and finally put their weapons away. -------------------------- Then, in the skies, a small group of pegasus knights was spotted. They were doing their final patrol before it would get too cold to survive outside. They knew they didn't have enough time to return to the Kingdom, so they decided to land in the village. Then they spotted the prince. "Prince! Prince Julius!" The leader of the squad exclaimed. She bowed before him, and then asked. "Where have you been, oh prince? The king is expecting you to lead our army! You have been gone for days, and now we find you at this remote place, on the Empire's ground!" "Ah, you are a princess of Ashald, the duchy closest to the capital, am I right?" Julius inquired from the pegasus knight. "Yes, my lord. Hannele of Ashald is my name." The pegasus knight said and bowed again. "I thought I had seen you before. So they sent you to look for me?" "Yes, my lord. That was our task. Now that we have found you, we'll take you back-" "At least not now. It's getting far too cold. Our lungs would freeze if we traveled now." Julius interrupted. That is when there was a sudden interruption. A man who looked like a bandit shouted the name of the prince. "Look I ain't no bandit. I just need to talk with ya when ya get the chance alright? I'll be helping round here when you get some time." He said and turned away without even waiting for Julius to step forward. Hmm. Julius was thinking who this man was and wondered what he wanted to say. "Hannele, arrange us a place where we can stay for the night. I have something I need to do..." Julius told the leader of the pegasus knight squad. "Yes, my lord." Hannele nodded. "It shall be done." A moment after that, Julius prepared to warp to the man who wanted to talk to him, but he suddenly stopped and looked hesitant to perform it. Maybe I could just walk... No, remember what mother said... It can't be helped... He thought about the things that had been revealed to him. He then sighed, uttered an apology, and used his warping power. The villagers were shocked again, unknowing of the extent of the powers the prince had. He appeared in front of Kushluk, scaring the man so that he almost hit himself with the axe as he was chopping wood for a fire. "You wanted to talk to me?" He said to the man who responded with curses before calming down. "Certainly," Martel replied. Thus, Arch & Martel ventured into the woods to find the little homemade camp. Their walk was silent. Martel was in deep thought. ------------------- ![]()

Martel nudged the man Arch referred to as Commander. "Wake up.". His eyes opened slightly. He yawned. "I'm Martel, I'm here to heal you. That friend of yours told me to drop by.". Commander simply nodded whilst Martel held the staff near the cuts on his arms & upper torso. The light aura of healing slowly but surely repaired the damage done to him during the intense battle from earlier. ------------------- ![]()

After calming down from the sudden shock of the man who appeared before him Kushluk finally gave him a puzzled look "Okay .... Now would ya mind tellin me how the hell you did that?" The well dressed peacock chuckled for a moment before saying "Sorry but I can't really say, trick of the trade if you will." then the man went all business and grew a hard outlook "You said you required a moment of my time, so while I am willing to listen, please do not waste my time with idle chat." The pirate quickly tried to size up the man before he spoke. ------------------- Only the dead have seen the end of war - Plato Ever conflict has a peace at the end, ever peace has a war coming - Kush When the first bullet goes by your head, politics and all that other shit goes right out the window - Hoot

Aron was walking around the village, looking for rations he could get. When he couldn't find anything, he started for home. Just in front of him, was a man in royal clothing talking to a big guy with an axe around the same size as his own.
