I'm in chapter six and i just got to the fourth map of the chapter. So far the highest enemy i've encountered is level 20 and now i'm against ten level 75s. Is there some trick to this or do i just need to level up.

You're supposed to lose initially....

At least, on the first playthrough you are >_>

So yeah, let your characters die ^_^;;;

if i remember correctly when you get to that level you can just hit triangle then quit and it will cut straight to the team of high rank demons joining you

Thanks everyone. that was the best fight once the demons joined in. I managed to beat one of the demons with my laharl and he went up almost twenty levels.

Ah yes, once your allies weaken them, you essentially get a free kill or two, if you can combo up enough to kill the weakened enemies.

You'll still get game over if all of your chars die, but the area is usually beaten in a couple/few turns...
