It's *bleep*ed up, is what it is.

People are restless and pissed off. Unemployment is so high there that now certain local groups are blaming the foreigners and they're trying to kill them all. But still, assuming every foreigner in SA has a job, that still doesn't account for well over 20% of unemployment there.

But what do we expect from people who are uneducated on anything? Mugabe pulled this same crap in Zimbabwe when he started killing off all the farmers. Thank God our government isn't supporting these riots and is trying to end them.


Right now the violence seems to only be in the townships, which are filled with poor and unemployed people. I see some sites claiming that it has spilled into the main cities like JHB and Cape Town but that's not entirely accurate, they're still a good distance from the main city hub. If the military has to, it'll demolish these groups pretty handidly.

I wouldn't be too worried. Most of the unrest that was going on was outside of the cities.
