I was wondering, does the lower-level class restrict what higher-level classes I can get later? For example, can I have my main character as a Fighter, then later upgrade him to a Samurai, or can he only become a Knight?

well u can only have wat they r supposed to become

like a fighter is a knight

a thief is a ninja

and so on u cant have a fighter become a ninja or something

actually, they can become whatever they want, my high lvl fighter started anew as an anchor

you can level any character as any class, and change them at any time.

That said, you need to be watchful of what classes you play what characters as, since your example fighter will probably have a high strength and vitality, but a low intelligence, so he wouldnt make a great mage. But if you do level him as a mage and put points into int, he'll be as good as anyone else as a mage.
