Pickax, Fishing Rod, and Umbrella.

How do you get these?!

I'm at the end of 2nd year, and meet the requirements for harvest master, but I didn't get ANY of them.

On a previous play, I DID get the fishing rod at the ene of year 2 (did somewhat poorly), but I'm wondering how you even get them at all, if NOTHING is the reward for "completing" the game...

So, anyone have any definitive answers? As no FAQs I've foind make any mention of the specifics...

If it matters, I'm playing the original gameboy version, not the GBC one.

EDIT: While I'm here, I'd also like to know how to unlock the First Aid Kit at the Livestock Store. FAQs say year 2, but it was never unlocked for me...
