	I need some help. I installed homeworld cataclysm on windows xp, but for some reason the game just doesn't work. It stars up and then nothing happens. I would apreciate any sugestions.

	I have win 2k and the same happened to me. Download the update from the sierra site and it'll clear up. It's the 1.0.0.1 update I think. www.sierra.com

	I know what to do. Just right click on "cataclysm.exe" and select "properties". There go to "compatibility" and check for "compatibility with Windows 2000". You need the version 1.01 thought.

	I'm using the compatibilty thing but I get error message 'unable to load Thunk dll' or something similar. What the hells that?

	I play it on XP all the time and never have problems, except that when it tried to download the patch, it failed. I just found another site though. -------------------

	I had the same problems as you, even after applying the update patch and adjusting the compatability mode. What did it for me was installing the NoCD patch (from GameCopyWorld).Good luck.

	it's strange as everyone appears to be having trouble with HW:C on win XP, but i'm using win XP pro, all patches installed and cataclysm works perfectly, with and without the patches installed. The only problems occur in either massed fleet battles (more then 50 fighters on screen at the same time causes it to crash, doesn't happen with sentinels in shield mode tough) and with some mods (those with ships that have more weapons then fit in the tab menu thing, it tends to crash in a completely random fashion when such ships start shooting) the first problem is solved by installing the patch (1.01)

	I checked on GameCopyWorld for their archived executable file, but it's no longer available. Where else can I find it? I've adjusted to Win 2000 and installed V1.0.0.1, but the game still does not work. Thanks.

	you have to download the patch for the game to work on the xp system.. make sure you download the homeworld cataclysm patch (xp version) http://www.relicnews.com/homeworld-cataclysm/hwcat-downloads/.
