The continent of Lunes was a peace-loving, scientific place. Its researchers were known throughout the world. Recently, Lunes entered a technological golden age. Meanwhile, its neighbor, the militaristic continent of Empiria, began to grow envious...jealous, even. Empiria was a country of paranoia. Its leaders had built a wall all around its borders, keeping its citizens in and the rest of the world out. Its soldiers were strictly disciplined. However, despite this, it could only hold this way for so long. Hence, it longed for Lunes' technology. What lengths it would go to in order to get it...

Yes, another RP. Finally, one that has nothing to do with LotA. There are, of course, rules.

1. No godmodding without my permission.
2. No killing others' characters without their permission.
3. SEVEN LINE RULE. I don't want this to be closed.
4. Adhere to forumwide rules.
5. Have fun and plenty of it.

Now that the unfun rules(j/k, Homunculus Lover. -) are deatl with, on to what you can be in this RP. Thanks to Legends of Marodora, I was inspired to become more creative with my classes and races. Here they are.

RACES:

Humans - Humans are known to have no real specialties. They're at least fairly efficient at everything.
Dwarves - The typical strongmen of medieval RP's, Dwarves can dish it out and take it. However, don't expect them to be very speedy.
Elves - Widely known as THE bowmen and spellcasters, Elves are swift, smart, and skilled. They're frighteningly frail, however; they aren't the best choice for frontline fighters, as such.
Orcs - Ugly and brutish best describes them. They're not quite as strong as a Dwarf, but noticably faster. Don't rtry to teach them spells - it leads nowhere good.
Goblins - As Orcs are to Dwarves, Goblins are to Elves. Goblins are a fair bit stronger than Elves and only somewhat slower. They can even learn some spells.

CLASSES:

Might:

Knight - Who can deny that the Knight is the most widely-used combat class? Knights can use swords or spears/lances as their primary weapon and can wear heavy armor. They're not magically-adept.
Knight Sergeant - A Knight who has endured a test of his worthiness. Knight Sergeants can use both swords as spears as weapons, with the addition of crossbows.

Warrior - A heavy-damage class best suited to Dwarves. They use axes liberally and can't learn a verse of magic. As for armor, they can wear up to medium.
Warlord - Masters of battle and combat, Warlords expertly use axes, swords, and bows.

Archer - The Elven stereotype, Archers are designed to stay back and pick off foes from grand distances. They use bows and some magic. They wear light, unrestricting armor.
Sharpshooter - An Archer with the capability of landing a perfect shot a distance of 500 yards. They can use any bow, and get an upgrade in armor capabilities.

Magic:

Warlock - Warlocks make heavy use of magic that directly causes pain and damage. This includes the elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind. Don't try to send them into hand-to-hand combat.
Battlemage - A Warlock with the entire world of damaging magic available to him. Battlemages have mastered the art of spellcasting and can learn the highest echelon of elemental magic.

Mage - The in-between of Warlocks and Monks. They can use, equally, damage magic and support magic. As with Warlocks, they should not be sent into hand-to-hand combat.
Archmage - A master of damage magic and support magic, he doesn't specialize in either, instead using them both equally. Archmages inflict less damage than Warlocks and don't support as well as Monks, but they easily hold their own in magical fights.

Monk - A user of magic that supports his comrades. Monks can heal, light up dark places, and a number of other things. As stated with Mages and Warlocks, don't send them into hand-to-hand.
Bishop - A master of support and the magic of Light. Creatures of evil cower before Bishops.

Specialists:

Thief - Sneaky, stealthy rogues who can't fight well in hand-to-hand combat. They use daggers to defend themselves when needed and can make enemy items magically disappear.
Assassin - Assassins don't need strength to kill. They're skilled enough to hit any critical point on a foe's body. Just as Thieves do, they use daggers and can steal.

Engineer - The builders of all sorts of defenses, roads, etc. They can put up light defenses in the blink of an eye, making them useful for mass battles.
Taskmaster - Engineers whose fame preceeds them. They can build medium defenses in startling amounts of time.

Bard - Minstrels who can increase group morale with their songs. Some people will even pay small amounts of money to listen.
Master Bard - Bards whose songs can inspire an army. Master Bards make more money playing their songs than Bards.

And now we have the most important part of an RP...the character sheet.

Personality: Generally friendly and personable. Being in the Lunes army and all, he has yet to see combat.

Name: Tinúviel Teleri
Race: Elf
Age: 147 (Appears around 20)
Class: Sorceress(Warlock)
Appearance: Tall, long blond hair, blue eyes, fair skin, very beautiful, even for an elf. She wears a white robe.
Personality: Wise, proud, kind, and ambitious.
History: She is of a noble house in Lunes. She is loved by all and tries to help all she finds in need.
Inventory: 100 gold and a gold ring that enhances her powers.

*a small city in Lunes...*

A young knight, desperately holding a cloak over his head to shield himself from the rainstorm, tried in vain to find an inn.

I hate rain, I hate rain, I hate rain, I...an inn? No...just a fruit shop...I HATE RAIN!

He continued on his so-far-fruitless search, trying to see through the rain in order to see the building signs. So far, he had found an armory, a blacksmith, a fruit shop, a tailor...did he mention he hated rain?

The rain continued to fall without any signs of giving up. Eddi was feeling even more grouchy than normal. There was nothing more uncomfortable for a Basset than having every single strand of fur on your body soaked with water. This was one of those moments where Eddi's pride was his downfall; He had passed the inn ages ago and was now wondering the backstreets looking for a shelted spot to stay the night, he only had 100 gold on him, and felt it was foolish to spend it on a room he would be leaving the next morning...that was a human activity. He then moved on towards a series of warehouses, hoping that at least one of them might be empty...

Eddi walked towards the warehouses but gave a groan of dispair. He could hear the sound of hammers banging away and he could smell the scent of iron coming from the warehouses.

Eddi: (thinking) Do builder's ever sleep? Would suprise me if they didn't.

Like most other Bassets, Eddi was a huge fan of the Lunes' new age of technology. In fact the whole reason he became a knight in the first place was so he could honor and defend the tradions of his tribe. As far was concerned, the whole world was losing itself to technology. He walked passed the warehouses and and hoped to find somewhere else to stay.

???: Hey! Hey you there! Big guy!

Eddi didn't look back, he didn't know anyone in the city so they must be talking to someone else.

???: Hey! EDDI YOU BIG DUMB FURBALL I'M TALKING TO YOU!

Eddi suddenly stopped as he recognised the voice and a sickening feeling began to develop in his stomach.

Eddi: Please tell me that's not who I think it is...

He turned round to face a young Basset covered in oil stains and resting a spanner on her shoulders. Eddi sighed

Eddi: Rusti...it's...nice to see you again.

Rusti was his cousin, and had been filled with too much energy even then. She had left two years ago to persue her dreams...although not everyone back home approved of her actions.

Rusti: Same to you...I can't believe I would you here of all places. How have you been? Is the tribe still...?
Worker: HEY! Rusti! We've no time for goofing off!
Rusti: I'll be back in a second!

She turned round to face Eddi again.

Rusti: Ah...this isn't the best time to talk...ummm...you need a place to stay tonight.

Eddi made a grunt and decided to let the fact that his fur was soaking wet do the talking.

Rusti: Looks that way. My shift's over in five minuites, hang around until then and I'll take you back to my place; it'll be crampt but it's better than sitting out in the rain.
Worker: HEY! That motor isn't going to build itself ya know!
Rusti: ALL RIGHT I'M COMING ALREADY! See you in a bit Eddi.

With that she ran back inside the warehouse and Eddi made faint smile; as irrating as Rusti could be...she was still family...and anything is beter than sleeping with wet fur.

Race: Bastet
Age: 16
Class: Engineer
Appearance: Like Eddi she has cat like facail features, but is alot thinner in build, her hair is tied back in a ponytail, and her tail is somewhat longer (a trait of female Bassets). She has orange fur with a white patch on her chest and some white stripes on her tail. Wears a dirty grey shirt with blue shorts.
Personality: Very cheerfull and extremly passionate about her profession to the point where it's scary. Also tends to be extremely jumpy and exciteable
Inventory: 100 gold and a basic tool set (Spanner, screwdriver and hammer)

That evening's meal was a treat. Thick and flavorful breads stuck to the digger's mouths, while swigs of homemade ale washed them down. The drunken men guffawed happily within the kitchen of the archaeologist's camp.

While this may seem like a simple every-day meal to an average man, Rayde hadn't had anything but mush and water for weeks. Part of this was from the fact that the king had hesitated in sending supplies to things such as archaeologist camps. Their technology, along with the economy, had grown so fast that nobody cared about past relics anymore. All but the pocket money of the noblemen was spent on advancements, and the pocket money is what everyone else had to squabble over.

The creak of wood pulled Rayde from his thoughts. "I'll take an amber and rye, please." A gruff, dusty stranger sat next to the warlock, pulling a shag of black hair out of his vision. He turned to Rayde as his drink was prepared. "Good eve."

"And to you, sir." The warlock nodded, turning his head back to the counter.

"Hey, what sort of poison have you got, there? Let me buy you another round. We dine like like lords, tonight." The man squinted a pair of turquoise eyes and smiled.

"Oh, thank you, but I'm just on my way out." Rayde slid several gold coins forward with an exposed hand. "That should cover my tab."

The digger shrugged. "Eh, suit yourself."

Rayde strode across the wooden planks and out of the log shelter. It was clear, but the wind was carrying rain from the small town twenty leagues away. He could spot the towering gray clouds and haze from falling water across the western sky. The light drizzle tingled his face.

Then he turned toward the main dig site, where he had used earth-based magic to uncover the cause of this celebration. It was, to them, remarkable. The ruins of an ancient chamber, perfectly preserved. It seemed to house a tunnel that stretched for leagues underground, towards the kingdom of Empiria. It could bear as urgent news, good or bad, for the king, and possibly better funding to Rayde's organization.

First, he remembered, he had a task he had promised the others. To deliver the message to the king. He would set off on the morrow.
