That is a fair point; the RP community here has mostly been focussed purely on the writing aspect, and less about the faux-sociality of it all.
I think we've been getting a bit narrow in our views here, which can be easily fixed by Fifi's suggestion;

We should just have
4 events though

RPing is a very flexible thing, and if we're going to represent it we might as well try to incorporate as much as we can. So we have separate events, each worthy in their own right, much like how the Creative Writing is split into two events, but you don't have to enter both.
So we have an event which focuses on character creation, and then using that character with a given prompt or challenge; I still believe there should be some sort of given RP as a baseline for creation, 'cause of course part of RP is making a character who can fit into the given scenarios.
Then we have an event that focuses on RPing with other people. This'll be hard to figure out semantically, and certainly will be a bitch to organise, but I imagine that if you have entrants agree on something to base it off (since there's no way to make an RP, a group of characters, and then still allow enough time for people to RP it, in my opinion), nothing too niche and something the judges are familiar with as well, then you could hold a short RP over the month and judge people on that.
Then an event for RP creation; people write out the first post of a hypothetical RP, with focus going on creativity, flexibility, and how well it lends to having a bunch of people jump into it, as well as the usual factors. And of course this could go from having someone creating a basic background of Chosokabe High School for the Super and Kawaii to someone building a whole world and detailing the specifics of alien genital mutilation, so long as it doesn't go over the word count.
So character creation and usage, RPing with others (in an 'FRP'), and RP creation are covered.
If we had more time we could get everything properly represented and organised, but given we have two weeks until a month event begins that isn't going to happen.
