Log in to remove this advertisement The old Drow was slammed against the wall of a nearby building. The mugger in front of him carried a long, wickedly curved blade in his gloved fist. He should have known not to travel into the slum area, since he carried valuables with him. "I-I don't have anything!" He stammered, holding up his empty hands. Of course, his valuables were at his feet, made invisible by magic. "How stupid do you think I am?" The mugger yelled, slamming the Drow into the wall once more. "I know how to read! Your sash says that you're from that Sage school." "I don't have anything! Do you see anything here?" This made the thug pause but he responded by kicking the Drow in the stomach and watching him crumple to the ground. Rolling the old man over with his boot, the mugger put the knife to his throat. "I'll ask one more time, gimme your money!" The old man moaned while the thug pushed the knife into his throat. And nothing happened. The mugger tried again but his hand wouldn't move. "Having issues there? God, you suck at this. You should have learned that you just kill them first THEN take the money off their lifeless carcasses. Asshole." The voice was elusive and in the mugger swung wildly around, the knife glinting in the moonlight. From the shadows melted a woman. She was alluring yet something about her frightened the thug, who had seen many horrible things in his lifetime. Her hair was as red as flame and her eyes as deep green as the forests of Tellus. She was slim and his eyes lingered on her curves. She put one hand on her hip, shifting her weight onto her left foot. "Well, what the hell are you staring at? Kill the Drow for all I c-" "Madam Lamia! H-help me!" The old man coughed, trying to push himself to his knees. The mugger whirled around, going to silence to Drow. Then the name Lamia clicked in his head. He spun back to face the woman, who had disappeared. He glanced up and down the alley, not seeing the woman in sight. Something cold and damp tightened around his throat. He couldn't scream as he was whipped against the wall opposite of where the Drow had fallen. The woman was there once again with... tentacles of darkness whipping around her, some of which held him securely to the wall. He was held so tightly that struggling wasn't even an option. Looking at the black gem in the middle of her forehead, he knew he was dead. "You see, I do not want to be here. I would much rather be at the local tavern, slowly drinking myself to death. Of course, I have to teach you how to properly kill and old man. It's simple really. Watch." The woman stuck her pale hand into the darkness, and grasped onto something. She pulled gently and a silver handle came into view. It was incredibly ornate, decorated with symbols he had never seen before in his life. At the top of the silver shaft was a curved, semi-circle blade. The Sage lifted the scythe slowly then brought it down with lightning speed. The curved blade easily sliced though the Drow's skull. "This is when you would rob him and then you would run. Yes? But sadly, you have killed a member of my school. So you will pay." He was about to protest when her face was suddenly inches from his own. He could see that her eyes were flecked with tinges of blue. He saw a glint of silver out of his peripheral vision, but the green eyes with dots of blue was the last thing he ever saw. Back at the School for Sages, Winnie removed her bloodstained coat and threw it in the fire, so no one could trace her back to the Drow's death. She had left the box where it had lain, for the Drow's death had made it visible once more. She heard a knock on her chamber door. "What!" She snapped. A high pitched young girl's voice answered her, "we thought that you might like some dinner. You haven't come out of that room since you got here and-" "Hit the road, serving girl... Or do I have to make you?" She heard the child's footsteps retreating down the hall. She laughed quietly, picking up her scythe from the floor where she had dropped it upon entering her chamber. She put her ear to the blade and listened intently. Yes, she could hear it. The sounds of all the demons the weapon had killed in the past. Their souls forever trapped inside screaming in agony. It was like birds singing on the first day of spring. ------------------- ![]() | |

Chogan Gale Lucerna the land of light. Chogan knew this place all too-well. In his journies with his late master they would always return to the human homeland. Aside from his violet eyes Chogan was completely indestiguishable from the humans. Chogan was a seller of oddities and treasures, while he may not look it at first Chogan is a very strong individual. Often times Chogan would venture off into 'forbidden' areas and such and find various goods to sell. He seldom had to worry about bandits as he well-versed in hand to hand combat and being able to fly if neccessary. A human approached his portable stand. The human spoke out "That's an interesting looking sword.." Chogan responded "Oh this? That's an ancient dwarven blade I'll have you know! Haha yeah, I found it in some old dwarven ruins out of continent." This part was true. "Hmm how much is it going for?" The human asked. Chogan put on a big smile and responded. "Well I had to fight a few Minotaur that were guarding the place. They were quite tough, so I'm probably going to charge a bit more than usual on this thing if only because of the Hazards I had to go through." What he was saying was a complete lie. He waited to see if the human would take the bait. The human sighed. "Do you take me for a fool Shifter? You're so scrawny! How could you take on one Minotaur!? Let alone two!?" Chogan responded "Tell you what, just for you 4 pieces." Chogan was staring at the golden currency the human was holding. The human replied "I wouldn't pay more than 2 for the thing." The bartering continued. "How about 3?" "2." Finally Chogan had and idea "How about this, you seem pretty tough. And you don't believe I took down a few Minotaur.. so how about a little contest?" The grin on Chogan's face got a little bigger. The human took some interest "I'm listening." "We fight, if you win you can have it for 1 piece. But if you lose you pay 5." The human had a nice hearty laugh. "You're kidding right? That's a bargain I can't refuse!" A circle of citizens surrounded the two and a knight tried to intervene. After Chogan explained the situation the Knight agreed to be a judge and mediator to make sure things don't go too far. Chogan spoke out "The rules are simple, landing a clean hit gives you 1 point. Anyone who is knocked out loses. First to.. 10 points? Yeah that'll work. First to 10 points wins. Our judge will tell us when to begin." It wasn't a large town so something small like this instantly became a big event as more and more people flocked, some to see the fight others to see what the buzz was about. The arena was a small ring formed by people circling, a flat dirt surface free of rocks is where they would fight. The knight counted down "3... 2.. 1..." Both Chogan and the human awaited the call.. "Start!" The human started by trying to tackle Chogan, but all Chogan saw was two weak spots. He took advantage of the charge by slapping the back of the mans head and putting his leg in front of the man's foot. The man fell and hit the ground. "That's 1 point for me." Chogan exclaimed. "You fight like a woman." the human replied. When the human got up he went for an uppercut, it was a sloppy punch and Chogan was able to move out of the way. Chogan placed one of his hands on the man's left hip and the other hand underneath his chin. Chogan pressed the hand on the chin forward while making it circle to the right side of the human's face. The other hand pulled the man's hip towards Chogan. The human completely lost his equillibrium and at that moment the hand on the human's chin slid downwards and chogan used an open palm thrust to drive the human into the ground. "I believe that's 2 points." Chogan said with confidence. The human looked completely shooken. He was unable to recognize Chogan's fighting style. "Dammit! I'll get you for that!" The human yelled. Outraged the man jumped back up and threw a powerful haymaker at Chogan, unfortunantly for him Chogan ducked underneath it and grabbed the man's arm. He continued the momentoum of the haymaker forward and used it along with his own strength to pull the man's body over his shoulder. Chogan used one of his free legs to help push the man the rest of the way. The man flew a couple of feet forward and tumbled. He was unconscious. The knight announced his verdict. "The winner by knockout is Chogan." The man woke up about a minute later. Chogan talked with him. "Sorry I was a little rough there. Anyways, time to honor your deal." The human was still in a daze. "Deal?.. oh yeah.. 6 pieces.." The human handed the coins to Chogan and took the sword. The human wandered off "My head hurts.. I think I need to rest a bit.." The knight approached Chogan and asked Chogan a question "That's a pretty impressive fighting style, is that unique to Zephyru?" Chogan replied "Actually no, my master who taught me was human." The knight continued his inquiry "Oh really? Do you mind if I meet him? I wouldn't mind learning a few tricks like that." Chogan looked a little down "About that he's.. well.." After a short awkward pause the Knight caught the hint "Oh.. I see.. sorry." Chogan instantly put on his trademark smile "Ah no worries, the old man went out with a smile." The knight sighed in relief "That's good to hear, just don't go starting too many fights, everyone wont be as leniant as I was." Chogan shook the knight's hand "Thanks for the advice.. oh do you mind checking out my goods? Maybe there's something you or your wife would like!" The knight took a bit of interest "Hahaha really?" The knight decided to check out what Chogan had to offer. "What's this?" The knight pointed to an amulet of sorts. Chogan replied "I honestly don't know how much it's worth, I found it in the same ruins I found the sword I sold to that man. Ya know what, you got me more than I asked for on the sword so for you.. only 2 pieces!" The knight laughed. "My wife will love this." He bought the amulet and Chogan went on his way. Chogan couldn't help but think of his homeland of Zephyru and the mansion of his family. He wondered how everyone was doing. He wasn't even able to be present for his father's funeral. Chogan decided to stop thinking such things and went on his way to other towns in Lucerna, his goods weren't going to sell themselves!" Chinday Gale Chinday recieved some documents regarding the allocation of the family's funds. The gale family recieved money from various sources. Taxes on people living nearby, various nearby businesses, and exports of various goods. The family is a major benefactor in certain groups outside of the continent, they're taxed as well. Overall the Gale family has a lot of authority and Chinday is at the top of it. Chogan spoke "Adopt the same policy as last year but cut off the miners in Lucerna." His assistant looked a little shocked. "Are you sure sir? Atleast 40 workers will lose their homes!" Chinday glared at his assistant. "Are you arguing with me?" The assistant trembled "No sir. I'm just curious as to why." Chinday sighed "Each year they've brought in less and less ore, we need to cut them off before we lose money." "Your father always protected our own even when times were do-" The assistant was cut off. Chinday yelled "I AM NOT MY FATHER! DO WHAT I SAY AND LEAVE MY PRESENCE!" His assistant left to carry out the decision. Chinday thought to himself "(Honestly!, I'm your superior. That means you're my 'inferior.' Your opinion means nothing.. know your place... You better not question me again..)" He walked through the halls and was greeted by several maidens. "(Who should I bed tonight? I'll need a kid at some point..)" The maidens knew their purpose. They were selected as potential wives for the family head. He walked up to the silver-headed one. "I'll give you a chance." He flashed a tender smile that completely contradicts his character. Not because he felt tenderness, but rather he felt that it would be the best expression for the situation. "I'll meet you in my chamber tonight." The maiden blushed and bowed. The maidens dispersed and left. He walked out into the courtyard, he glanced towards the dozen or so red Camellias. "(Interesting, after taking in that blood they actually retained the color..)" The red spot on the garden merely served as a token of sin upon the family's symbol. Some kids were running about and one bumped into him. Chinday thought to himself "(Why that little!)" A woman ran up to Chinday. "I'm so sorry Master! I promise he wont do that again!" Chinday bent over and pat the kid's head while smiling. "I'm sure he'll grow up to be a fine young man." "Oh, thank you for your mercy!" the woman responded. "No problem, be on your way." Chinday thought to himself once more. "(Indeed, that child may be free now, but one day he'll be my servant like the rest.. he'll get his dues one day..)" Chinday talked with a few other nobles before returning home to bed the maiden he chose.. Edit: May 22, 12 12:44am | |

"To the sea"
------------------------ Alicia and Summer slept well through the night, not bothered by the noises outside simply because they didn't care. When morning finally came, Alicia was the first to stir, still in her phoenix form, and simply wiggled out of Summer's hold which had eventually turned into a hugging session it seemed. With a yawn that sounded more like a song, she stretched out her wings and hopped out of the tent and into the morning air where she stretched her wings once more before going back into the tent. She looked around a bit, wondering why everything seemed so big, that is, before she realized that she was still a phoenix. With a sigh, she shifted back into her humanoid form, forgetting that in doing so, she was completely naked. It was around this time the flap to the tent opened and Ostel's face slipped through, "Alicia, Summer come on get up it's about ......” His eyes paused seeing the naked shifter before him. He then stammered out, "Ummmm ... do shifter's normally comfort others in that fashion Alicia?" He asked without thinking. Hearing her master’s voice Summer herself shot up in Alicia's silk blue coat with a look of red going clear across her face, "Wait it's not ... Alicia ... umm ..." She then quickly looked down at the bedroll with a lost and confused look. Alicia seemed confused for a moment, then realized what he meant moments before her hand went across his face with more strength than she meant to. "How dare you assume that is what happened!" she half shouted at him, "Do you men have nothing on your mind other than sex?! I am appalled that you would even HINT that such a thing happened! GET OUT!" To Ostel's surprise, he soon felt a strong guest of wind shove him straight out of the tent and onto his butt a few feet away, just shy of slamming into a tree. "SICK MINDED PERVERT!" Alicia shouted after him before turning to Summer to see if she was alright. Stunned at the force of wind that sent him flying Ostel sat himself up and looked behind to the tree, "Well ... that coulda been worse." his wolf Snow came to him and licked his face. Patting his white furred companion Ostel stood himself shakily on his two feet, "You'd think since it was my tent I wouldn't have to announce I was coming in. Right Snow?" He said looking into his wolf's red eyes for an answer. Nearby him Ragner the dwarf laughed to himself, "Lad you outta know better than that. You knew for a damn fact that Summer and Alicia where in the damned tent. Either you got dumber as you got older or your manhood thought more than your brain that time. Humans, horny chickens yall are." He mused to himself before continuing to pack the tent. For a brief moment Ostel's face flushed red, but then he took a deep breath to calm himself, knowing the dwarf was simply acting his way. So the Grimward bastard went to help the dwarf pack, "So I made a mistake one morning, that shouldn't follow me everywhere I go. I'm sure you have made your fair share of mistakes." The dwarf then replied with a wry grin, "True enough, but my stories won't be the one's I'll remember when I have drink tonight lad." He said with a chuckle. Shaking his head at the losing battle and wanting to change the topic Ostel looked off in the distance toward their destination, "You think we'll reach the harbor of Nadar today?" The dwarf answered with a shrug as he threw his sack behind him, "Hopefully, not counting any surprises on the road." A few minutes later Alicia, now clothed in her usual garb, came out with Summer beside her, shooting a glare at Ostel as they helped him pack the tent up. Ostel merely gave a sheepish shrug and apologized for the intrusion. Alicia however didn't reply, which Ostel understood for the moment since the offense was still fresh. Nevertheless with the camp packed up the all set off on the road with the full day ahead of them. ----------- By noon the company had ventured close enough to finally see the strong, fabled walls of the merchant harbor of Nadar. It was still well in the afternoon by the time they managed to even get to the gatehouse. Here however they ran into some difficulty as the guards noticed the eleven female who was clothed and the shifter and Pegasus, they actually even instructed that before they were permitted into the city that the elf was strip and be forced to wear her chain and collar again. It was hear that Ostel finally had enough and drew his sword Havard, and challenged the guards in a almost a noble-like tone, "I am Ostel Von Grimward, Son of Magnus Grimward of Castle Ravencrest and you speak to three Sages enroute to their school on the continent of Tenebra. You will let us pass unmolested. Or need I show you an example of our power if you doubt me?" So stunned were the guards by his challenge and titles that the noble gave the guards merely bowed and gave the word to open the gates. With heads bowed they allowed the company to pass. As they did however Ragnar laughed, "Well good to know Something stuck in yer head while I trained your sorry hide." With a grin the human replied, "I'd like to think I had a decent teacher, providing he wasn't drunk off his arse." he added with a thick dwarven accent, thus making his mentor laugh and heartily slap his student on the shoulder. "You should have let me shift and tear their damn throats out," Alicia growled, glaring back in the general direction of the guards, "I would have loved nothing more than that." With a sigh Ragnar responded to Alicia's threat, "I know lass, trust me I woulda tarred em meself, but thankfully there are better ways to handle simpletons like those. And I'm thankfully someone actually paid attention when I taught them how to do so." He said looking proudly at his human pupil. "What better way than to be mauled by a tiger?" Roaring with laughter the dwarf admitted, "BWUWAHAHAHA!!!! I'll admit that woulda been simply spectacular to see Alicia! I hope there be another time where I can see that!" he said heartily to the shifter with a devilish grin. Alicia offered the Dwarf a smile before responding, "With this journey, I am sure you will get the chance. After all, there are plenty of people around who are just as pig headed and may even ignore Ostel, in which case I will maul them before he gets the chance to draw his sword." She said looking around the slums of Nadar, seeing the masses of destitute humans eyeing them warily as they made their way to the city’s harbor. During this exchange between Ragnar and Alicia, Summer merely walked up close to Ostel and looked up at him with a look he never saw before, it was a simple smile. Returning the smile Ostel merely nodded, "I said it before and I'll say it again Summer, I may not be the strongest, nor prehaps the brightest. But you will never wear your chains again if I can help it. I just ask for your trust in me Summer." As if to answer him the golden haired elf merely wrapped her arms around Ostel's chain mailed arm and squeezed it gently, "Thank you ... Ostel." With a smile that couldn't be hidden the human realized that was the first time Summer had ever spoken his name rather than Master. He basked in that victory for a minute as they walked through the lower end of the city of Nadar. Thinking to capitalize on his victory the warrior looked back to Alicia and her Pegasus Shadowstar with a grin, "So I hope that may of at least redeemed my earlier mistake back at camp. As I said before I apologize for my actions Alicia Nightwing." he said sincerely while bowing his head a bit in her direction. Alicia just looked at him for a moment, she knew it was not his fault that she both feared and hated men, which was why she had reacted as she did, but she wasn't one to forgive men easily. She started to crack her fingers, each in turn, as she thought about her words carefully. She found she did not want to insult the human, nor did she believe that he had truly meant to be offensive in anyway. "Alright human," she said slowly, "But don't let it happen again, your tent or not, you forfeit all rights to enter unannounced the moment you allow women to stay in there." Nodding his head Ostel agreed, "You heard that bit from me eh? Yeah yeah your right, I'm just glad you have more to you then meets the eye Alicia. My sisters back in Castle Ravencrest demanded the same thing. BUT unlike them you can defend yourself and there is more to you then appearances. So as long as you cover my back in a fight consider the lesson learned on my account. And truth be told thank you for helping Summer, I really appreciate the gesture." He said as they began to make their way out of the slums and into the marketing district of the city. "I didn't help her for you," she said simply, "I did it because, no matter what most of you humans may think, no one deserves to be treated as such and she needed to know there are more kind people out there than just you and a dwarf." Alicia obviously didn't take compliments well, though Ostel wondered why, he left that subject for another day as he was sure she would simply just blow him of. What truly puzzled him was that she had been so shy the night before yet now she seemed to have a fire about her, or at least a bad temper. And truth be told, it was actually kind of interesting, in an odd sort of way. He was so used to seeing women play the damsel in distress and play weak in a fight. Yet maybe Alicia had more to her if she can turn on a dime and become a strong willed personality if she knew she was in the right. A few minutes later and the company finally made their way to the docks of Nadar, with the towering ships coming and going as if it was a busty intersection in the marketplace they just left. Here the company sat themselves down at an outside tavern overlooking the docks and ate their late lunch. After they had dined for a good few minutes Ragnar then told the group, "Alright I'm going to go see if I can dig up any leads on some of my old trading partners about current events here and overseas. Ostel, after you are done finishing yer plate take Summer and Alicia with you and try to find us a captain who can take us to Tenebra. Milady Alicia, I don't mean to order you around, but in this city trust me word when I say you safer with Ostel, he may be a dolt but I at least trained him alright in defending himself and others." Sighing Ostel said aloud, "You know I'm right here Ironside, that annoys the living hells outta me when you talk like I ain't here." The dwarf merely shot him a glare, "You let anything happen to the elf or shifter and THAT will be the least of your worries Grimward." When Ostel grudgingly nodded his head Ragnar then turned to Alicia and asked, "With your leave then Alicia, will you agree to my course of action?" he asked with respect. "I'll let you know this, and don't take me the wrong way, but I am the Sapientis Ventus for a reason Ragnar," Alicia said, her tone calm though void of any other emotion, "I know you mean well, but I am fully capable of protecting myself without any assistance. I will stay near Ostel, but not for his protection, I will be doing so for Summer and that is all." With a nod Ragnar Ironside took a last swig of his mead before getting up from his bench. He went up to the barkeep and paid for their meals and then turned to go on his search. Before he left the outside tavern though he turned and came by the group muttering, "Lucerna, especially Nadar is not safe as it used to be for non-humans. I have heard from previous reports of a group of humans growing in popularity here called the Puritans who believe that killing all non-humans is the way to an afterlife paradise. Dwarves are still safe because we have dealings with them, but no offense to you Alicia. You and Summer are just their kind of prey I’ll hear. I gotta go, stay safe you three." Ragnar then took his pet hawk shadow in his hand and gave it to Ostel's shoulder, "Send Shadow to find me when you have a ship.” When the hawk shifted nervously Ragnar patted his companion on the head, “No you stay Shadow." He then whispered something to the hawk before it finally calmed down and settled on Ostel's shoulder. With a bow the Dwarf then turned and went off to towards the marketplace district. Alone with the two women, his wolf Snow and the hawk Shadow, and Alicia’s Pegasus Ostel sighed, "Well finish up you two. We gotta find ourselves a captain by nightfall. If what ole Ironside said is true about these Puritans than I'd rather not stay here overnight." He said sipping on the last bit of his honeyed mead. "You sir, are no fun," Alicia said as she set down her silverware, "Because if they are here, well I think it would be fun to teach them a lesson or two, I've got too much energy right now." Shaking his head Ostel looked to Summer who merely seemed to smile looking out on the bay of Nadar seemingly lost in here own thoughts. Seeing no support from the elf he merely tilted his chair back on two legs, "Now we just need to find a captain who would want to sail to the Dark Continent of Tenebra. Yeah, Demons and Drow are just great hosts I hear. Who wouldn't want to go there?" the dark haired bastard said sarcastically as Alicia gave him an annoyed look. Ostel merely laughed knowing this was going to be an interesting journey to say the least. -------------- OOC: Alright so if anyone wants to meet us in the harbor of Nadar then just PM me and Kokushi. When the carriage cam to a complete stop Ezra quickly grabbed her things and made her way onto the wooden pier. She took a look around, nothing had changed since her last visit. People from all over were here looking for passage to the different continents, some were running shady business in the pubs, others she could see, were just fishing or looking for work. Thankfully, the queen on Nymphe had already arranged things in advanced for her.
"My Lady!" The couch driver called. She walked over to him and he gave me a an envelope. "Here is the names of your captain and some money for your journey." "Thank you," I nodded my head, "Please pass on my regards to the Queen." "Will do, My Lady." He nodded in return and with that he whipped the reins and down went the seahorses, dragging the carriage with them. ---- Okay, finding This so called, "Captain Merdock", Was not as easy as she thought it would be. She had checked several different pubs, Captains, Sailors and just random people she pass by on the street if they knew where she could find him, but no one knew. She was told to go check out this one Put called The Alley Cat, but they said he wasn't there and to go check the a bar named, Sally's Bucket, but no luck there either. Hell, they even told her to take pretty behind back to The Alley Cat, but when she explained to her that he wasn't there either, they suggested an other place. This continued on and on till she had been inside each Bar, Pub, and Brothel house in the whole damn port! "Where the Hell is this BASTARD!?" She finally screamed. Though when she did this, it was already dark and she was on the street. So she caught the confused eyes of all the passers that came by, but she didn't care. Hell, let the whole world hear her! Maybe they'd know where he was! Finally After giving up the she decided to and turn in at this bed and breakfast place called The Cove Inn. It wasn't bad, quite decent actually, considering the strange people around. The strangest she saw actually was in that Inn. There was a group of many races sitting together at a table. It consisted of a human(he was beautiful), an elf(which was drop dead Beautiful!), and a shifter(she wasn't bad looking either). The whole scene was odd, especially to see them all together like that, eating and talking. Though before Ezra could think of why such a scene was there, she heard, "Oh Merdock! You crack me up!" Ezra quickly spun around to find two largely overweight men and laughing like the drunks there were. Ezrawalked over to them, "Merdock? As in Captain Merdock?" The one with the large grey wire like beard turned to her, "And who would be a askin' Lassy?" "Ezra of Nymph," She glared, raising a brow. Yig was on her shoulder doing the same. "Ahhh, yes! The girl that was to head to Tenebra! I've been looking for you all day! People were-" "YOU were looking for me? I was looking for YOU!" I yelled, "Do you have any idea how many places I went looking for you!? How many-" "Easy Lass, I know. I was running after you half the day, but I figured it was no use, especially at the pace you were going, so I decided to wait here, figured you'd have to come here eventually." He smiled a toothy grin. He was missing a lot of his teeth, and the ones that were still there were yellow as can be. She tried not to stare. With an angry sigh, she just said, "Fine, fine. So when do we leave for the dark continent?" "Tomorrow. Meet me at-" "Excuse me." A tired Male voice came from behind me, "Did you say that you were giving this woman here a passage to Tenebra?" It was the same odd group she had saw when she walked in. Captain Merdock just smiled, "Who's askin'?" -------------------

"A new face, the Puritans, and the Warsong"
-------------- With a bow Ostel introduced himself to the Captain and the very beautiful, if not brash young woman, "My name is Ostel Von Grimward, me and my companions would like to also book passage with you to Tenebra." The long dark haired woman then gave him a challenge, "Why should I allow someone like you to accompany me? I have to get to the Sage school on Tenebra and I don't have time to pick up strays." She said with her arms folded. Ostel then looked at the woman in a new light, she clearly a very loving young woman with bright blue eyes but he had clearly hit the nail on the head about her brash attitude. She did however mention the Sage school, and judging by her slim and delicate features he realized this was no mere woman. Ostel then grinned, "I'm guessing you’re the Sapientis Aqua are you not?" When she gave him a surprised look Ostel merely put his hands up, "Relax I mean you no harm I am the Sapientis lux. I know I find it myself hard to believe at times." It was then that she in turn looked him over, and then gave a nod and returned the greeting, "My name is Ezra Wiloski of Nymphe. And you would be correct on that Ostel Von Grimward. I guess your shifter and elf friend are the other sages as well?" she said looking over to Summer and Alicia. With a sigh Ostel admitted, "Well you would be half right, excuse us Captain while I introduce her to my companions." With merely a nod the Captain went back to his drinking with his crewmates. As Ostel made his way to the table he introduced Erzra to Summer and Alicia. He tried to get a sense of how they reacted, if this was going to be the group he traveled with, he just hoped they would get along well. Alicia just stared at the girl for some time; she only felt a vague resentment stir within her and she even had a pretty good reason why. Here was a female who had obviously been well cared for while she was with her parents, probably never had to deal with being beaten and obviously had enough of an attitude to get what she wanted. Alicia on the other hand, had been abused whenever her father had seen fit, never gotten anything she really needed and more often than not just hid in her room. Her resentment wasn’t born of jealousy as some would think, it was born out of a hatred she had for just about everyone she met until she knew them because most would say they knew how she felt when, in fact, they did not. Alicia said nothing to the Nymph at all; instead she took interest in a cat that had been rubbing up against her leg for a majority of the time they had been at the Tavern. However Summer seemed transfixed by Ezra, she merely bowed her head and said, "P .. Pleasure to meet you Ezra." She said sheepishly with a blush going across her face. For Summer she was having the hardest time NOT looking at the new arrival, maybe it was her confident pose, or her bright blue eyes. Nonetheless Summer found herself staring up a few times to look at her again with her hands feeling hot and her tongue drying in her mouth. Whether or not Ezra noticed this was left unsaid as a great clamoring was heard at the front of the tavern. The company then looked to the door of the tavern and saw a gathering of men and women of all ages wearing white robes with a flaming eye emblazoned on the chests of their cloaks. They carried a wide range of implements from sickles, to clubs, maces, and even a few bows and swords. The entire tavern went silent seeing the fifty or so white cloaked figures entered The Cove Inn. The barkeep, a portly fellow of a dwarf then boomed a loud welcome to the group and asked what they wished this merry night. It was then that the leader’s gaze fell on Ostel, Alicia, Summer, and Ezra standing in the corner of the inn. The group then followed their leader as they made a silent procession towards them, encircling the group and isolating them from the other tavern patrons. Quickly seeing this as a bad sign of things to come, many customers paid their tab (and their condolences) to the worried dwarven barkeep and hurriedly left, including the captain Ezra had been speaking too. Seeing a bad situation brewing Ostel turned and saw an open window behind his companions table, he then whispered to Ragnar's hawk on his shoulder, "Shadow, go find Ironside. Bring him here quickly." The smart companion of his mentor seemed to read his mind and flew off through the small window and into the night of Nadar with a high-pitched screech. Ostel's white furred companion Snow came by his side, sensing the tenseness in his master. Trying to defuse the situation Ostel forced a smile and asked in a cheerful voice, "Good evening to you all, something I can do for you gentlemen?" He said as he slid his dagger behind him across the table. Summer seemed to jump a bit as the dagger landed into her lap. She saw the other men though and out of fear gripped the hilt of the dagger in sheer terror out of what may happen in the next few seconds. The heavily broad leader of the white cloaks then said, "You are in the company of non-humans, including an elf. We of the Puritans of Humanity ask you submit them to us for inspection. Also for allowing your elf to wear clothes you have forfeited the right to own that elvish bitch Ostel Von Grimward." he said pointing at Summer, the elf's violet eyes where wide in fright. A wry grin escaped the leader as he glared at Summer with lustful eyes that told all too well his intentions. The moment the last two words left the leaders mouth, a dangerous growl escaped Alicia, her skin rippling dangerously as she tried to keep her anger in check. "You filthy little human," she hissed, "I advise you to either A) Apologize or B) Turn around and leave, if you chose to do neither... you won't like what I do to you." The smile faded from Ostel's lips as he realized who they where, these where the cult of human purists that Ragnar and him heard rumors of in Caste Ravencrest. They were extreme zealots who believed the human race deserved to rule the world for themselves and that all other races where "impure". However that didn't stop them from having a reputation as a brutal, sadistic, men and women who enjoyed to torture (or "purify" in their terms) the "lesser races" many a eleven slave had disappeared around Castle Ravencrest, and these Puritans where all too vocal in their exploits, almost as boastful as his brother Fredrick was of Summer. With that in mind Ostel knew what needed to be done and stepped forward beside Alicia and gave them his glare while drawing Havard from it's sheath, "You know who I am, and you know I am the Sapientis lux of Castle Ravencrest.. And yet you have the gall to not only challenge me and Alicia Nightwingof , the Sapientis Ventus of Zephyru but also Ezra Wiloski of Nymphe, Now ... chose your next words carefully you blasted Dung-kisser, or else you are going to have your smile go a little wider, "He said pointing Havard at the man. Ostel thought for sure the man would of backed down as the gate guard did, but then the man merely laughed, "You simply fool, the Sages are a long dead tale, told by children. We humans are the only powerful race on Divus. Even if I die my soul will be guided to paradise by killing your misguided hide, and this ... "He said extending his arms out to his fellow white clothed brothers and sisters, "is only a mere portion of our numbers. Surrender now while you can you pathetic bastard before we ...." He never got another word out, as true to Ostel's word Havard sung through the air and sliced his mouth, through his skull and out the other end. Seemingly an instant later, Ostel then kicked the man down, the top half of his head sent sprawling away from his spewing geyser of what remained of his head. The other white cloaked scum drew their blades and then charged them to avenge their fallen captain. With a fiendish grin seemingly wide as Ragnar's, Ostel Von Grimward cried his own war-song, "Havard!" and charged to meet them head on. His wolf Snow charged beside him howling at the top of his lungs with his fangs and claws ready to sink into the nearest white cloaked figure that threatened his master. It would be a red sun in the city of Nadar come the dawn. ---------------------- OOC: And thus, the fight gets going >= ) Edit: May 24, 12 6:57am ------------------- Only the dead have seen the end of war - Plato Every conflict has a peace at the end, every peace has a war coming - Kush When the first bullet goes by your head, politics and all that other shit goes right out the window - Hoot | |

The moment Ostel's sword went through the skull of the first human; Alicia determined the fight as far game and decided that she would kill them as the very thing they hated. Without any hesitation, she leapt at the closest one, shifting into a large white tiger as she did so, a loud roar escaping her. As she landed on the human, he let out a terrified scream that was soon cut off by her jaws ripping out his throat, leaving him to choke on the bloody mess for the last five seconds of his life as she prowled over to the next one. To those who were watching her, it was obvious through her actions that she was angry as she pounced on a second, though this one she did not lock her jaws around their neck, instead, she locked her jaws around the arm that held the weapon and tore it clean off. The gruesome sight made Summer's eyes widen as she turned away from Alicia, the young elf had never thought someone so kind could do such cruel things to another living being.
After brutally killing at least three other humans, Alicia noticed one trying to get the drop on Summer as no one seemed to be paying attention to the other girl. Summer saw the white cloaked man approach her with a wry grin on his almost saint like boyish face, "To bad elvish sluts are so pretty. Are you ready to die whore!!" he said raising his mace on high. Summer could only hold out her dagger with her head down, eyes closed, She silently prayed that the blow and death would be quick, and then stepped forward ... she felt ah slight impact on her hands, but nothing impacted her head. The elf opened her eyes, and saw in horror at her dagger had struck the young boy in the neck, his crimson blood splattering onto her face and on Alicia's blue cloak. With a cry she fell back in fear as the boy tried in agony to stop the bleeding but only seemed to squirm like a squirrel getting injured by a hunter. She couldn't tear her gaze away from his withering as he finally fell forward, a puddle of red soon spilling and adding to the already reddened floor. Summer cradled herself against the wall of the inn, her gaze never leaving that boy, almost dead to the world around her. Alicia, still in tiger form, moved over to Summer to protect her while still doing her best to give the Elf something solid to hang onto. Every time someone would target them, Alicia would make it so Summer could not see what was done even though the death she dealt out was never a merciful one. Eventually she got tired of the tiger form and switched to one that match Snow's form exactly, not much caring if Ostel got confused in the process. By the time the battle was over, a majority of the humans were dead, many by Ostel’s sword as his were clean cuts while those killed by Alicia were torn to shreds or simply had body parts missing and their throat torn out. Ostel seemed transformed from the bumbling oaf from yesterday, Alicia saw him take many of the white cloaked cultists in one fell swoop. However as good as he was, Alicia saw a mace smack him in the face, and knife nick his armor, and even a stone glanced off his head. However despite all of this he kept his footing and fought on like a man possessed by a demon of the ancient world. He would impale one man, and drive him through a crowd of his comrades skewering two more before twisting his bastard sword and ripping the blade out, with blood, guts, and bone flying everywhere. His wolf seemed just as vicious, crashing into the mightiest of the crowd and tearing off as many exposed limbs as possible. Snow's red eyes began to match the fur of his master's foes, with a beastial look on the normally lovable canine. Ezra herself brandished a pair of ruthless bladed circles that she gracefully used to dance a circle of death into the Puritans. The look on her face was one of sheer anger at these freaks who demanded that they "inspect" her. The long haired Sage of water would send one Chakram up a woman's front, cutting her all the way up to her shoulder while sending another Chakram into a man's stomach before twisting and shredding his insides. Seeing the display from the blue eyed women a few of the white cloaks backed off and stood unsure of what to do. It was then that Ezra merely waved her hand and with the drinks of the spilled patrons, she formed deadly ice shards which she then launched into the crowd, sending a few back with shards in them and the rest scattering Figuring she wouldn't get this chance again for a while, Alicia pounced on one more and bit his head clean off his shoulders, ignoring the blood that stained her white fur and mixed with her own from the blows she received from knives and other weapons. Feeling content with that last kill, she snapped at the heels of those who ran by her, but did little else. "Well, I do believe we taught them a thing or too." Alicia stated her voice a soft brush against Ostel's mind as even she could not speak as an animal. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OOC: I changed my profile picture... was too childish XP ------------------- "Through the hurt and the tears, life will continue whether you want it to are not. re: The Elemental Legacy [M] [PM] [B]

Morning came all too quickly. Seath barely managed to shut his eyes to slumber for the night. Everything Orthis told him… it was all so sudden. His departure, and this… ancient evil…
All the anticipation he’d built up for weeks. And it almost all dissipated at the thought of such a danger present. One to evade, and not to confront, hopefully. Seath had already gotten up. He’d already spent a moment to gaze at his room within the temple, knowing he’d not be returning for a while. As he walked through the temple’s halls and exited into the pathways, few Iceborn were present. Early morning absence, evidently. Perhaps it was for the best not to let to many see him leaving. Just then, a sharp wind blew past Seath. Not just any wind. This wind felt like a hand on his shoulder, and it carried the force to spin him in the direction of the downward pathways. Seath could see light blue wisps of ice barreling through the air, heading towards the exiting arches… and down the stone path to the mountain trails, leading towards the shores. Orthis was waiting for him there. Seath passed through the sanctuary with little interaction between the other Iceborn, passing under the front arches and descending down the mountain trail, the cold winding snow welcoming him back into its embrace. … Seath emerged from the snow once more, coming upon the shores of Isalis. It’d been quite a while since he was last here. Every now and then, he would join Orthis in bringing delivered eggs to the sanctuary and watching them hatch. But the last one to be delivered was about two decades ago. There were always plenty of gaps between Iceborn births. Seath kept onward until he neared the stone alter sitting before a short stone path. That was where every Iceborn egg was delivered before hatching. They can’t hatch anywhere that isn’t cold enough, and Isalis was the coldest place on the planet, as far as he knew. That alter… it was where he was brought all that time ago. It was where Orthis picked him up and carried him back to the safety of the sanctuary. He even remembered how the bowl of ice that sat upon it brought comfort to him as he was set down on it. An ancient relic almost as old as Hindir. Such a thing could never be forgotten. Seath passed the alter and saw Orthis standing near the shore with the Icestaff in hand, staring past the ice-covered waters and out into the world beyond, pondering. Seath made his way down the steps and approached him. “Orthis?” Orthis turned and gave a wry smile as he laid his aged blue eyes upon his kin. “There you are.” Seath nodded in reply. That was when he noticed the small pile of supplies sitting by Orthis’ feet. There were several jars of frost salts, some wrapped wolf meat, and a book of some kind, and… a peculiar object in the shape of a large needle with three prongs sticking out of the blunt end. “Is that all I’ll be given?” Seath said, looking at the supplies. Orthis turned to look down at them, picking up the book in the process. It was a thick tome with a gray cover and binding. “It’s all you’ll need from me.” Orthis said, “The salts will last you for a while. The meat is for the trip.” “And the book?” “It contains notes and journal entries written by those who once ventured out into the world. There are details on a large variety of subjects, but the last entry was around two centuries ago… so some new information will have to be added. By you.” Orthis handed the book to Seath. He held in his hands and nodded. This, he liked… recording what he found during his travels. Seath then looked at the needle-like object and said, “And what about that… thing?” “It is an ancient artifact. Arnin’s Compass.” Orthis said, “It was crafted from Hindir’s breath at the request of Arnin, the first Iceborn to leave Isalis many millennia ago. You will use it to sail to your first destination.” “And what exactly will I be sailing on?” Orthis gave another wry smile and turned away from Seath, standing right near the shore. He held Hindir’s Icestaff in both his hands and planted it in the snow. He paused for a moment before opening his mouth, his breath swirling inside his maw, streams of ice emenating from it. The orb within the Icestaff began to glow as Seath reared his head, and then unleashed the brunt of his breath into the orb, which exerted it further. A cloud of ice erupted forth and spread over the closest waters. Within the cloud, stream of solid ice began to appear, combining and thickening. The mass of ice slowly began to form the shape of a boat, large enough to accommodate one man comfortably. Though, only an Iceborn would find a boat made of ice to be comfortable. The cloud dissipated as the boat took full form. Seath was impressed, but he noticed one problem. “It… has no sails?” Orthis held up Arnin’s Compass and handed it to Seath. “The Compass works in that once physically embedded within the ship, simply command it to take you somewhere, and it will carry the ship to its destination on its own.” Seath held the artifact in astonishment. It definitely sounded like a seafarer’s best friend. “Anything else you’ll need…” Orthis said, “I’m sure you will find on your travels.” “Am I to leave now?” Seath asked. Orthis lowered his head and sighed. He looked back at Seath and said, “Seath… before you leave… I would like you to do one last thing for me.” “Anything, Orthis.” “I want you to accompany me, one last time… to Hindir’s peak.” Seath put on a look of shock, but it quickly subsided. He was told the night before that this would be Orthis’ last day alive. This trip would be his last. And Seath could not deny his elder the company. “Of course.” Orthis smiled again and said, “Thank you, Seath.” He gazed up at the looming mountains, focusing on the tallest one that reached towards the heavens. That one belonged to Hindir. It was where he resided, where every elder traveled to before they passed on, joining the ancient dragon within his ether; a paradise for any Iceborn. It would soon be time for Orthis to join them there. “We’ll head through the sanctuary now. There will be no stops along the trip. Once we reach the peak and I have… departed… they will know.” Seath nodded, feeling somewhat disheartened… but he would overcome the feeling. For Orthis. “We best get going then.” Seath said to his elder. His friend. Orthis nodded, and the two began their ascent to the sanctuary, bidding the alter farewell. ------------------- And don't forget, when your elders forget To say their prayers Take 'em by the legs And throw 'em down the stairs | |

Ezra have never used her Chakram like this before. Of course she has been in fights and probably killed a few people here and there, but never just a full on slaughter. She didn't know what came over her, maybe it was how the ugly white robed men and women were looking at her or even how they were looking at the other girls in the group. She didn't know, only that she didn't like how they way they said "inspection." Hell she could feel their eyes undressing them just standing there.
"*bleep*ing Pigs..." Ezra muttered to herself. It was then that she realized Yig was hiding in her shirt. She felt the poor little guy trembiling up against her. Thank God he wasn't hurt. As their fellows fell by the attack of her, the shifter, and the human, the white cloaks began to run away out the door of the inn. "Well, I do believe we taught them a thing or too." The woman, Alicia announced. Ezra doubted it, but hopefully she was right. She didn't want to have to deal with something like this again. Behind her, Ezra saw the elf girl standing-- actually she was bent over with her back against the wall and looked as if she was having a heart attack. She couldn't blame her. Ezra was flipping out, too. Well, at least on the inside. She walked over to her and put her hand on her back and shoulder, trying to support her. "Are you okay?" she asked. Looking up to her the golden haired elf seemed as if she was trapped in her own private nightmare. Summer then looked to the nearby boy garbed in the white cloaks, with Ezra following her gaze. He had a knife in his neck, and Summer's hands were bloodied. Summer was shaking pretty bad, and all she could manage to do was say was "Wh... I just ... jhe wouldn't ...." she then merely stammered off and began softly weeping, the her long elf ears barly peaking over her arms as her head sunk in fear. "Shhh, shhh." Ezra hugged her, leading her head to the curve of her neck. It was odd, comforting someone she barely know, but she wasn't about to leave this girl crying on the floor. God, she wasn't that heartless. "Are you two okay?" The Shifter, Alicia, walked over to them, along with the human, Ostel. "Yeah, I think we're fine," Ezra nodded, "This one's a little shooken up though." The poor thing was still whimpering. The human then sighed, picked up a fallen chair and slumped into it. Resting his brusied and battered figure on his sword he muttered, "Unfotunatly that's not all of them. They have friends outside. See ... Look there." He said pointing his sword towards the windows of the inn. There indeed the group saw the battered and bloddied white cloaks, along with fresh new faces galring at them. They weren't inside the tavern yet, but merely building up their nerve to try again. Ostel then looked to Summer and Ezra holding her, "Well Ezra, welcome to the group. Sorry about the mess. What's wrong with Summer, is she hurt?" He said looking concerned. "Doesn't look like it." Ezra raised a brow, "She looks like she's just not used to these kind of situations." She directed her gaze over to him, "And frankly, neither am I. So do we have a plan on how to get out of here? If not I suggest that we break for a boat and make our own way to Tenebra." The human than began looking around for a way out, but it was at that time that the white cloaks began cheering outside the inn, bolstering their spirits for another assualt. -------------------

"Trapped, Unsought Help, Sermons, and the Bastard's Charge"
------------------ Ostel was not liking the way the situation was shaping out at all in The Cove Inn. He and his wolf where bruised and cut from multiple small injuries but still able to fight. However looking to Alicia, who was now a form similar to Snow, also had some beatings as well. Ezra looked alright, but she was taking care of Summer, the elf trembling in Ezra's arms. Seeing his knife in the neck of the white cloaked boy next to her gave him all he needed to see to understand her state of mind. Hearing the crowd of Puritans outside starting to cheer again, baying for their blood Ostel's face tightened as he realized the gravity of their situation. The windows in the Inn where too high and small for anything more than a mouse to get through. He then went to go check for a back door but found none, possibly a theft deterrent but that didn't help them much. The barkeep also was not there which meant that he must of sneaked out during the fighting He then looked from a distance out of one of the windows and saw a good hundred of these white cloaked cultists cheering at another leader of theirs. He was still going on about the purity of the human race. Shaking his head Ostel sadly knew that all this merely proved that humanity, though yes strong and influential, had much to learn. Because of their recent fear of the elves they now feared any who were not themselves, not that he blamed them in a way. He had just killed probably over ten boys and girls along with old men and women who gave into their fear. Who where they, farmers, woodcutters, stable boys, someone's father, son, mother, or daughter. The train of thought didn't make Ostel feel any better. And now he may actually have to kill more of his own in a few minutes. .... No. The six take these damned fools. I'll give them one more chance. Ostel then turned to Ezra and Alicia, "Snow go to Summer, keep her safe. Ezra and Alicia I need your help." Alicia gave him a gaze in her wolf form but merely walked toward him, and thankfully so did Ezra. He then explained his plan to them and asked for their trust. While they looked doubtful they did agree. --------------------- Meanwhile in the Castle of Lionsmaw, Ragnar Ironside sat at a table with an old friend of his and Ostel's. Ser Gerald Victor was an aged grizzled gray-haired commander of the knights stationed in Nadar to keep the peace. He was also one of Ostel's old instructors who helped Ragnar "adjust" to the lad once his duties called him away back to his home in Nadar. In the dining hall of the castle the two old war veterans relived their glory days together during the elish uprising. Ragnar's laugh was heard throughout the castle as they swapped stories back and forth, "BWHUHAAHAH! Gerald you remember that elf commander who tried to take you one on one and slipped off the cliff on his first swing? That was fuking priceless." He said chuckling lowly. Ser Victor merely smiled and replied, "Yes yes, that elf was not exactly thinking at his best while drunk" he said rubbing his impressive mutton chops. Ragnar Ironside waved his arm, "bah elves can never hold there drink unless they do it often, why that elf battalion shoulda hit us rather than that one keep ..... bah I forget the damn castle. You humans love your damn keeps." The old knight was about to answer his old friend when suddenly a harsh screech came from above the dining hall. Recognizing that call, Ragnar looked up and saw his hawk Shadow flying down to him. The type of cry however was different, one of that the hunt was on. This triggered Ostel to jump out of his chair, "Gerald call yer damned shiny knights, Ostel's and those girls are danger, come on move move you damn old geezer." he said throwing his armor on. Ser Victor merely sighed as he had his servants help him with his armor, Quite the switch ragnar old friend, We were fighting elves together and now we ride to save one. Not to mention a shifter, and Ostel's hide again. My, don't the fates have a sense of humor tonight." Once his armor was attached to him he tore past his two elvish slaves out of the dining hall calling out for his men to assemble in the courtyard Ragnar was already tearing out of the castle by the time the knights of Lionsmaw had gathered under Ser Victor, riding their horses in full plate armor with lances, swords, and axes glinting in the moonlight. Ragnar Cursed having to be helped onto's Ser Victor's horse, but he knew his pride was not worth getting riled abbot when Ostel and the women were in danger. The grumbling dwarf readied his crossbow and told Ser Victor to follow his hawk who would lead them to Ostel. And so the moonlit ride of the Knights of Nadar was underway, with one very unhappy dwarf. Whoever interrupted his drinking time was going to have a hell of beating in store. -------------------- Ostel then saw an elderly woman well past her middle age years stand on a raised platform speaking to the crowd out side the inn. Though her hair had long grayed she kept the thought of her dead son by the hand of the Bastard of the Grimwards to light her heart in a fire, so which she could move her fellow white cloaks to attack the inn again: "And We Humans Shall Drive the Scourge of the Lesser Races from Our Shores!" The crowd outside The Cove Inn cheered. "We will show our Conviction as we Bring Forth a New Age of Peace and Purpose, no Matter the Strength of our Foes!" The crowd howled in agreement. "And to Ensure Our Supreme right to Rule Divus. we shall slay one of these Vile Beasts and prove our power! Bring Him Here!" Ostel saw a man with Palladium armor and a black cape being dragged by some of the cultiists The man was very pale looking, with shoulder length raven black hair that was messy. The man looked middle aged. He had a worried look in his eyes, as if he was worried about someone else rather than himself. Nonetheless he managed to kick one of the men holding him in the knee, and then uppercut the other. But instantly ten more dragged him down, but not before he howled, "You maggots think you are the Saviors of the Human race?!? You are the EXACT reason It's Falling apart! You blasted damned delusional piles of ...." He was silenced by a club to the face. The elderly woman merely cackled, "Vampire, In your Pride You Shall Light our Path to Glorious Salvation! Let us rejoice As We Offer This Fiend to ...." She never got to finish the sentence as an arrow smacked her shoulder, causing her to shreik in sudden and agonizing pain. The crowd then turned back to the inn and saw Ostel standing with his bow drawn again and Ezra and Alicia flanking him. He then shouted out, "The Knight of Nadar Come, Disperse and go Home! For the lives of Your Children I order you to go Home!" He said half ordering and half pleading. The crowd of rioters and white garbed cultists didn't seem to move for a moment before The vampire spoke again, "I like how your pathetic uneducated minds automatically assume that I am some blood craving killer. I only am when the true evil being like yourselves decide to hurt innocent people." The crowd however didn't take kindly to that as one of the guards smacked the Vampire again, while a majority of the crowd began to charge Ostel. The Grimward loosed one more arrow before turning to Alicia and Ezra, "Now!" Ezra and alicia, the sages of Sapientis Aqua and Sapientis Ventus stood for a moment still before they acted. Ezra touched the ground, turning the sandy shore of Nadar in front of The Cove Inn into ice. The result ended with many of the white cloaks tripping and slipping. Alicia then came producing a strong gust of wind outward that sent the stunned white cloaks flying back. It was at this time that from the north came the knights of Nadar, with their warcries and lances sparking silver in the light of the moon. and Among them Ostel grinned as he heard a familiar dwarven voice, "Yes! Time to Crack some Skulls!" With that grin Ostel turned to Alicia and Ezra, "Keep them back from the Inn, the knights will do the rest of the work." Alicia then saw the look that Ostel gave and asked, "Your not doing what I think you're doing?" with a mere smile and a nod to his wolf snow the human merely replied, "Snow will keep you sfe." And with that the Bastard on of the Grimwards charged the white cloaks with his bastard sword Havard shining in the night like a lighthouse, his cries of "Grimward!" piercing the chaotic night sky. -------------- OOC: Was a bit rushed bit I'll come back and edit it later on tonight. “The Dark Thane and his Shadow Stalker” Keirana stood out looking upon the dark starry sky She was at an inn called the Crooked Mast. It was about 3 hours outside of the port of Nadar. Thinking about her conversation with Adonis before he left. They were out travelling and he was hired for a job in Lucerna but for her safety he didn’t tell her the exact details. The people who he was dealing with were very dangerous. Earlier in the week she had sent a note to their friend a mercenary named Arvin about what was going on. She had yet to receive a reply from him. Keirana felt that something was wrong with Adonis she sensed it. Adonis and Keirana had a special connection he was her maker. So, whenever either one of them felt an emotion or something happened to each other they would know. Deep down they could feel it and sense it. “Adonis...” she whispered to herself. “What has happened?” “Darling... In case you feel that something happened to me I need you to promise me something...” Adonis asked Keirana. His voice was soft and tender. “What is it?” she replied. “I need you to find Thomas and explain to him what happened. Then you must stay with him.” “But I can-!” Keirana started to debate. “I know you are very capable of taking care of yourself. I’d rather be extra safe. If something had happened to you...” His voice trailed off. Keirana touched the side of his face with her hand. “I understand. Although, if something does happen to you. You can not expect me to not pay them a visit.” “Keirana-” Adonis began to say. “Will not go alone.” Keirana finished his sentence with a grin. Keirana shook her head after remembering that conversation and went back into her room. Thomas was a fellow Dhampir that Keirana knew in her human life. He was born half vampire and half human. The three of them often traveled together helping innocent people when they could. Thomas often worked for Keirana's father when he could. She sat down on the small sized bed and was about to take a book out that she was going to read when Natalya came busting through the door. “Thanos is outside!” she said in a rush. Keirana shook her head and went flying out the inn. When she got outside she saw Adonis’s dire wolf Thanos packing back and forth nervously. Thanos was an enormous black dire wolf. He wasn’t mean at all except when threatened. He was an excellent dire wolf to guard and protect those who needed it. Although he was fierce when he had to fight other than that Thanos was relaxed. Trailing behind Keirana was her brown and grey dire wolf; Fenris. He seemed happy at the sight of Thanos. He went over and barked happily at him. Fenris was also a good protector. He was even more fierce in battle but he was a big baby. He loved the attention he would get from anyone. His favorite thing in the world was being scratched behind the ears. He would constantly get chased by Keirana’s cat; Scrappy. Fenris would run from a mouse if it came near him. Scrappy was a big white cat that Keirana took in when he was walking alone and hungry outside. Scrappy could be lovable but he had a very bad temper on him. He often liked to sit by a window sill looking out. One night Adonis made the mistake of closing the window where Scrappy was sitting. Scrappy had followed Adonis to the chair where Adonis sat down at. Scrappy gave him a mean glare, jumped on Adonis and started attacking him. Keirana to this day still laughs at the memory. Thanos stopped and stared at Keirana and began barking frantically. Keirana’s heart stopped and she said in a worried voice “take me to him.” Before leaving the inn. Keirana and Natalya geared and grabbed their weapons making haste with Thanos, Fenris and of course Scrappy out of the inn. To anyone who knew or heard of Adonis and Keirana knew of them by their nickname; The Dark Thane and The Shadow Stalker. It was name they were given quite a while back when they travelled the continents helping the innocent and taking down the unjust and evil. They were unlike many vampires they knew. They weren’t mean to innocent people, they protected them. They also did not go around killing random people just for fun or for their blood. Keirana and Adonis still remember perfectly their human lives. They had vowed to not change their attitude just because they were vampires. Although when faced with enemies, people who acted and treated others badly, they made sure those who did so would regret it. About half an hour the later the party came to the port Nadar and before entering Keirana sensed Adonis’s presence there strongly and also sensed something else wrong was going on. The company crept closer and to Keirana’s shock she saw Adonis chained and surrounded by many people in white cloaks. He was being dragged over to the bigger part of the group. She knew immediately that they were part of some cult, and looking at the bigger part of the group she saw an elderly woman standing on a platform yelling. "And We Humans Shall Drive the Scourge of the Lesser Races from Our Shores!" The crowd outside The Cove Inn cheered. Bring Him Here!" Keirana shook her head furiously. “Not if I can help it.” She muttered. Adonis was brought over to her and was yelling at the cultist. As the argument kept going on her anger grew as they hit Adonis and she was eyeing her surroundings carefully. She heard the woman yelling again. "Vampire, In your Pride You Shall Light our Path to Glorious Salvation! Let us rejoice As We Offer This Fiend to ...." The woman never got the chance to finish her sentence as she was suddenly hit in the shoulder by an arrow. Keirana looked around and saw a broad man standing by the inn and he was accompanied by two beautiful women. One of the women then touched the group and the sandy shore turned to ice and for a split second Keirana almost had lost her balance. Immediately after that the other woman produced a strong gust of wind. After the three exchanged words the women went back inside the inn and the man stayed out. About a moment later the man started to charge into battle and that is when Keirana and Natalya bared their fangs, took out their weapons and joined in on the battle. “Stupid cultists” Keirana muttered as she began to charge. Seath awaited near a stone pillar sitting next to the end of the trail leading from the courtyard. The brightness of midday did nothing to exert his weariness of the coming ascent to Hindir’s peak.
Orthis had taken a few minutes to retrieve his weapon; a bladed staff. He hadn’t used it since he was made elder, leaving it within his chambers to carry the Icestaff instead. Orthis would take his staff and be done with it near the end of the journey. Seath turned his head and saw Orthis emerge from the courtyard, many Iceborn stopping to watch him leave. He hadn’t left the sanctuary in almost a decade. This came as a surprise to most, yet some knew what was really happening. Orthis’ staff was being carried on his back. The dense ice glimmered as he neared his companion, almost like a flash of life after having not been used for so long. Seath detached himself from the pillar and faced his elder. “We’re ready?” “Yes.” Orthis replied, “We leave now, and we won’t be making any stops whatsoever. Hindir will keep us going. He will clear our path.” Seath nodded, knowing this to be true. This island, and all that lived on it, was under the complete rule of Hindir. Isalis bent to his will, and his breath shaped all. Even the fates of every Iceborn. Seath and Orthis gave the sanctuary one last glance. “I will miss this place dearly…” Orthis said. Seath nodded and said, “We will feel the same for you.” Orthis nodded, and the two began their journey. … … … Hours passed. Orthis was right. The duo never made a single stop to rest or eat. They were never attacked by any wolves or bears or anything else that resided up high on the mountains. The beasts sensed the end of Orthis’ time, and the worthiness of his companion, as Hindir commanded them to stand aside and allow them to reach their destination. As they further neared the summit of Hindir’s mountain, animals ceased to appear. The snow, however, was perpetual. No other race could even walk here. As outsiders were strictly forbidden, Hindir’s wind blew them away the moment they stepped past the stone alter at the shore. If by some ungodly chance they were to find themselves along this path to the summit, the blistering cold of the snowstorm and intense winds would end them in mere minutes. Seath and Orthis carried on after so much time. Hindir, in essence, was by their side. Guiding them to him. Ensuring their safe arrival. A god cares for his entire world. Hindir cares only for his kin. “We’re nearly there.” Orthis said, the snow having no affect on his stability. There was, however, a slight sense of fatigue in his voice, as if he had grown weary. Not of this ascent… but of his own life. He called out, “The Elders’ Garden… almost there…” The Elders’ Garden was the resting place of all the weapons that belonged to all the elders. A solemn place that demanded respect from all who reached it. Seath followed Orthis onward, and the steepness of the mountainside didn’t impede them. Their pace slowed, but only because they knew they would seen be saying their goodbyes. They wanted this final trip to last for even just a few minutes longer. But their destination would seen be reached, whether they slowed themselves or not. Then, the snow began lessen in intensity. The mountain began to develop a flatter surface. Seath and Orthis pressed onward until they caught an object jutting from the ground in the distance, with several more accompanying it. As they approached, they could see the cold, icy texture of the objects… they were weapons. Hundreds of swords, staffs, spears, scythes, and many more variations were all embedded in the ground, standing prominent as relics of the elders who once carried them. A straight path ran through them, and at the end of it… a set of stairs forged from ice, an alter lying at the top. This was it. Hindir’s peak. The duo has finished their journey. Seath and Orthis took a moment to inspect the area around them, bowing their heads as a sign of respect for the dearly departed. “It’s a stark sense of peacefulness, isn’t it?” Orthis announced. Seath continued staring at the veritable field of weapons before him and said, “I felt the same the first time I was here.” “As did I…” Orthis set the Icestaff aside as he reached for his own staff. He proceeded towards a fairly open space amidst several other weapons. He grabbed his weapon with both of his hands and held it before him, sighing. He then brought the staff down, striking the ground beneath him, embedding it within. He let the staff go and backed away, giving it a long, somber stare. Seath joined him by his side, sharing the silence. But it soon came to an end. “I am ready.” Orthis said in a melancholic tone. Orthis turned and made his way towards the frigid alter. Seath followed him close behind, a maelstrom of saddened thoughts racing through his head. But they all dissipated when the two reached the base of the steps. Seath stopped before them, this not being his departure, but his elder’s. Orthis took a few steps upward, but he stopped and slowly turned to Seath. “It’s almost the same as when I brought you to the sanctuary before you were born… the two of us, together for the first time, and here… for the last…” Orthis faced Seath entirely and said, “The moment you were born, I… it was almost as if I felt the inevitability of the time we would share. As I trained you to become who you are now… a strong, competent Iceborn… I could see us at this very moment, sharing this very exchange… and now that it has finally arrived… I can truly say I’ve felt no prouder or caring of anyone in my life other than you, Seath…” Seath gave his elder a solemn look and said, “Orthis… I’ll never forget you. When I return, I’ll… I’ll lead the sanctuary as best I can. For you.” “I know you will.” Orthis replied, “It is Hindir’s will. It is my greatest wish. I know you won’t fail, and no matter what you encounter during your travels… you’ll be just fine. You’re an honor to all our kin, Seath… and soon, you’ll prove it. But I was convinced since the day I named you. And I will go satisfied that my place will be taken by you. Hindir himself knows your prowess, and one day… you and I will see each other again, in his ether.” Seath didn’t reply. He was overcome with both happiness and grief; two opposing emotions that left him still. He nodded his head and held up his arm, saying, “Goodbye, Orthis.” “Goodbye, Seath.” Orthis replied, extending his arm as well. The two locked their hands together; almost unwilling to break the physical bond they shared at that precise moment. Slowly but surely, their hands separated, and Orthis turned to make his way to the top of the frigid alter, Seath watching silently. Orthis reached the alter, the absolute highest point in all of Isalis, and stood there prominently for a mere moment before stepping forward with the Icestaff in hand. Orthis grabbed the Icestaff and held it before him, his head lowered, recounting the entirety of his life in nary a minute. He raised the Icestaff, just as he did with his own weapon, and brought it down, impaling it within the icy alter. A moment of silence passed. The orb within the Icestaff began to grow an intense blue. Then the faint sound of great wings flapping upward rang through the air behind the alter. Orthis set down on one knee as the snow and winds blew upward beyond him, the flapping sound growing louder and louder, until a massive burst of wind erupted forth. And there he was. Hindir. The First of the Iceborn. The dragon roared as he set himself upon the mountain past the alter, towering above Orthis and Seath for the both of them to see. Orthis remained kneeled with his head lowered, but Seath gazed up in astonishment, this being the second time he’d ever even laid eyes upon the dragon. Hindir ceased his roaring and lowered his head, looking straight down at the kneeling Orthis. His scales were a brilliant white, almost glowing past the winding snowstorm. His blue eyes pierced through the storm like the spears of hunters striking their prey. His wings, having retained the ability to fly after so many millennia, reached as far as the Elders’ Garden stretched across the snow in both directions, glimmering with an icy surface that held the same beauty as laying eyes on the sanctuary for the first time in one’s life. Hindir stared down at Orthis for only another moment before opening his gaping mouth and rearing his head back. Clouds of a faint blue began to rise up, carrying a near spectral visage. Hindir brought his head down, his breath blasting forth from his maw and striking Orthis and the Icestaff directly. The aged Iceborn did not budge. This was not merely a blast of the coldest wind in existence. It was the gateway to an afterlife all on Isalis sought after so long. Orthis slowly began to vanish within Hindir’s breath, his body seemingly blending in with the gusts of wind that engulfed him. The dragon kept his breath going until, after a moment more, Orthis had vanished completely, leaving the Icestaff embedded in the alter. The orb in its center still glowed a brilliant blue color. Seath watched as Hindir gave him a short glance before raising his head and roaring to the skies once more. The dragon began flapping its wings, surpassing the winds that it ruled over, and detached itself from the mountain, descending once more to his ancient place of rest. Seath was in awe. So short, but… so magnificent. The passing of a dear elder. A friend he would never forget. A friend he would meet again one day. Seath gave the Icestaff a long, somber look, knowing that someday soon, he would have to return to claim it rightfully, proving to the rest of the Iceborn the fate Hindir had set for him. But for now… the outside world sat and waited for him. Seath turned away and, without looking back, began his descent down the mountain, knowing night would soon come, and he would soon be leaving Isalis. The Icestaff remained where it was, the orb ceasing its brilliant blue glow. It would wait there for its holder, in the freezing winds and the tallest point, until the First of the Iceborn beckoned him back to his home. And as for Orthis… Rest. At last. ------------------- And don't forget, when your elders forget To say their prayers Take 'em by the legs And throw 'em down the stairs | |

Rest at Last

Alicia seemed to lose control of herself as she fought a look of rage on her face as she moved swiftly and with a deadly grace that not many in Zephyru could manage. She didn’t even seem to care that she no longer had a scrap of clothing on, as she had shifted straight into her human form in order to use her magic to its full capacity. Soon enough though, she shifted into a large wolf and let out a howl before tearing into the nearest Puritan, her rage over what they had tried to do blinding her from her actions. She cared not for her own well being, but the moment they had made Summer a target, something had taken over, throwing the Shifter into a blind rage.
As she mauled the human beneath her, exposing his intestines to the surrounding air, a second human buried a knife hilt deep into her right shoulder. Surprised by the attack, Alicia let out a howl of pain and turned towards the human who attacked her, a pair of mismatched eyes trained on the Puritan. Furry seemed to illuminate her eyes as she moved towards the female Puritan, the knife stuck in Alicia’s shoulder doing little to slow down the Shifter as she was running on pure adrenaline now. Slowly, Alicia managed to shift back into her human form and pull out the dagger, the furry still present in her eyes as she held out her hand with the blade in it. “You’ve made two mistakes human,” Alicia growled her voice nothing like the shy or kind woman she had been before all of this, “Your first one was targeting the non-humans and your second was not killing me when you had the chance.” Alicia closed her eyes and murmured something that the other woman did not understand, not that it mattered because once Alicia opened her eyes there was a visible gust of wind that looked like blades headed straight for her. Once the wind collided with the Puritan, it seemed to disappear and the female looked around in confusion as the Shifter moved up to her. With a smile bordering psychotic, Alicia gently pushed the woman in the chest and watched as she fell to pieces at her feet. Covered in blood, she shifted into a panther at this time and moved through the confusion that had been brought on by the fighting. As the soldiers and other members of her dysfunctional group fought the Shifter slunk by unnoticed, a slight limp in her step from her still bleeding wound. From time to time she found herself dodging attacks meant for other people, not that she minded in the least because it gave her a chance to snap at some legs when they belonged to those she viewed as an enemy. At one point she got hit with an arrow through her hind leg, causing her to let out a roar of pain, her warm blood creating a pool where she was forced to stand for the time it took for her vision to clear. Alicia made it over to Summer and Snow only to collapse next to the female vampire that had come rushing out of the tavern, the loss of blood causing her to shift back to her human form, covered in blood that was both her own and her enemy’s. With slow movements, Alicia broke the head of the arrow off before pulling the shaft out of her leg, causing her to cry out in pain. The arrowhead itself had not been barbed, but it turned out that the shaft had small thorn like splinters that were barely noticeable. Tears were running down her face at this time, her adrenaline fading causing her to feel every ounce of pain that she had been oblivious to only moments before. “I really hate this continent,” she said, her voice weak and her eyes half closed, “To think those that have a mastery over light act as such… slaves… killing other races and viewing themselves as above everyone else? Should Bonketsu rise… this will be the first continent to fall under him willingly.” Alicia let out a small sigh, unaware of the Vampire who had taken a protective stance near her and the white cat that had perched itself near her, scratching at anyone who came close. ------------------- "Through the hurt and the tears, life will continue whether you want it to are not. “You and I: Affiliates forevermore” Natalya looked at Keirana as Keirana looked down at the young woman who collapsed wounded next to her. Natalya nodded her head. “Stay here and protect them, I’ll go free Adonis.” “Thank you Natalya” Keirana said. Keirana looked over for Fenris and whistled loudly. The dire wolf looked up at her and barked at the falling cultists and ran over towards her. “Fenris stay and help guard these good people. I know I can count on you.” Fenris wagged his tail and barked in return. Keirana knelt down to the fallen shifter she looked at the wounds the shifter had received from the enemy dagger and arrow. “Shh this will help you I promise” Keirana said comforting. Keirana then took out her left arm and bit at the inside of her wrist. Immense dark red blood started to pour out from the self inflicted cut. She took her other hand and put a good amount of blood on it and started to rub it on the shifter’s wounds to take away the she had felt from the wounds. The pain looked as if it started to subside and the woman seemed very content and smiled at her. Keirana gave the shifter a warm smile back and looked over to see three men from the cultists staring at them. “Look what we have here some whores right for the picking!” one of them growled gleefully. Fenris started to growl at them and came closer to the one on the right. Keirana laughed “oh I think you might be mistaken with yourselves there.” They came closer. “Oh you’ll pay for that one you disgusting non human whore! After we done with you you’ll be dead!” Keirana shouted “go!” And as the men started to get even more close Fenris launched at the man on the right, who then gave out a scream. “YOU idiots!” The man that was facing Keirana cracked his knuckles and started to unzip his pants. Keirana with fast speed turned to the shifter and said “I’m sorry for what I’m about to show you.” She then turned her attention back to the man and bared her teeth. The man laughed “filthy whore!” Keirana then out her hand on his testicles and with man strength gripped him down there. The man started to whimper in pure pain and tears went down his eyes. Keirana said “I’m not the one with their pants down ready to rape. YOU FILTHY WHORE!” And then she pulled at his testicles and they came out of the man’s body. His face was frozen in pure pain. Keirana then stuffed the bloody testicles in his mouth and threw the man’s body across the battlefield. The last man was simply horrified at what happened to his partner but he appeared just a stupid. He drew out his sword and started to charge at Keriana. Before he could make 2 steps and hand down went through his chest. The pale hand then pulled out the attackers heart and drank the blood. Keirana was surprised and pure happy to see Adonis Beltane standing there. “Ew!” he said after he drank the blood. “Well that should get my strength back to normal after what those blubbering idiots did.” Keirana went a hugged Adonis very hard “I’ll explain after this fight is done” he told her. He then gave her a soft kiss on the lips and with lightning speed ran out into the battlefield. Keirana could hearing him yelling at the cultists. "OKAY IDIOTS IN WHITE DRESSES WHO WANTS TO TRY ME NOW?!" Edit: May 25, 12 12:34pm -------------------

"The Rage and The Sorrow"
---------------------------- Havard sang through the night, ending another life of a cultist who tried to defend herself from Ostel's onslaught. She never even had time to scream as the bastard sword cut her down from the shoulder through to the waist. Two bloodied heaps of once used to but a young dark haired woman fell to the icy sand, staining the unusual ground with another crimson red puddle. The icy sand made it hard for Ostel to maintain his balance, but his anger drove him. He was so far gone into his rage that he wanted nothing more than to slay every bigoted hated fool on this beach. For so long in Castle Ravencrest he felt powerless to stop the maltreatment of the elvish slaves, only forced to watch. When he did dare to argue the veterans of the old elvish uprising would explain to him that he was wrong, that elves where meant to be ruled and they didn't know how to handle power. For so long he could do nothing to help the elves, and now that he had the power to deliver it back to the apex of fools, Ostel didn't hold back. He was angered that he didn't do this earlier, he hated his own kin, he hated humanity for the shadow it had become. He slipped a few times, hurting his already beaten form, but he didn't care. Whenever he got to a stumbled form of a white cloak, he would run them through without almost a thought. He felt vindicated on his prowl. A man clubbed him in the hip with a mace, he ran his sword through the man's mouth and slit it through the right side. A woman then jumped on his back, stabbed him in the back of his shoulder with a kitchen knife, screaming curses at him as she withdrew the knife to stab him again. Ostel spun on his heel, throwing himself aand the mounted woman to the icy sand. He then crawled over to her and cut the woman's throat before she could recover, as a mugger would silence a victim. In pain or agony, or rage he howled as he righted himself up and cut down a charging pitchfork white cloaked figure. His face was again mattered with the red paint of a former life. Not even stopping Ostel began swinging Havard sword around wildly as if he was attacking everything around him. His eye's hurt from the blood, the sweat, and the sand. He imagined he was surrounded on all sides, with the Puritans merely binding their time as hunters would watch a injured lion. So lost was he in his unhinged mind that he never heard the sounds of the hooves of warhorses behind him as Ragnar Ironside and the Knights of the Lionsmaw routed the rest of the Puritans and townsfolk. He never heard his own mentor calling out his name. Ostel only kept charging around with a wild cry and look in his eyes that screamed danger to any who would approach. After another few seconds though with him hitting nothing Ostel then wearily forced himself to stop swinging and look at his surroundings. He was standing on actual sand, which to him meant he wouldn't worry so much about his footing. He was near the shoreline now, with the nearest white cloak being ten feet from him with a lance stuck through him... A lance? A knight's lance? What in the name of the six ... That was when he turned and saw the company of knights clearing out the remainder of the white cloaks, disarming them and arresting a few. He saw the ever moving figure of Ragnar moving among the knights, directing them with an old familiar face Ostel knew. He struggled to take a breath and uttered a harsh chuckle, "Figured Ser Gerald Victor would be around *gasp* Holy hells. Alright that hurts." He said feeling like breathing hurt the more he tried to take a deep breath. Fearing a broken rib Ostel placed his hand on his chest and simply concentrated, though his throbbing headache didn't make it easy. The warm sensation of the healing light coursed through his body, and it became easier to breath. Fearing he'd pass out from the effort and his increased headache Ostel left it at that, trying to ignore his other pains and aches. Well better go head back to the Inn ... No more ... Wait ... The Grimward bastard then saw under a dock the flap of a white cloak. HIs mind focused and his gaze tightened as the anger came again. With a sense of a hunter's control Ostel cautiously stalked towards the dock with Havard held at the ready. He stopped just above the dock, controlled his breathing, and then leapt down with a roar and his sword drawn to deal out death again .... And then he saw them ... a blood redden white cloaked woman cradling three boys and a girl in her embrace. The woman seemed middle aged, with a peasant's cap and dark hazel eyes shee seemed suffering from a wound she took from the conflict. The woman then locked gazes on him and she grew stiff, a struggled breath escaping her lips, a dried stained blood line coming just beyond her right eye. The children as well saw him and looked from what Ostel assumed to be their mother. The sight then struck and unnerved Ostel to his very core, all anger from him seemed to dissipate, and yet he couldn't move from the woman's gaze as she tried to breath again, and then with a last attempt she muttered, "M ... Mur... derer ...." She then went stiff and never breathed again. The children then themselves closed their eyes, as if going into a long sleep. Astonished at what he just witnessed Ostel stood there for second unsure of what to think or do. Forcefully batting away the woman's last words he wiped the blood off Havard and then sheathed it into it's scabbard. He then sadly walked to the woman, and knelt down to check her life signs, but to no avail. She was gone ... and her children were now orphans. This was something Ostel did not expect, he almost couldn't fathom that he just witnessed someone die like this. Again he shook his head to clear his mind, "Focus Damn You Grimward. Get the children outta here." He said trying not remember the woman's last words. He then shook the shoulder of the red-hired girl, "Come on little one, we have to go. Come on we ..." His eyes went wide feeling no life from the little girl, "no .... No No No" He then checked the three boys, two dark haired just as him and a dark-brown lad .... all had no life signs. Ostel's eyes then managed to see beside the gathered family a cluster of vials. His hands shaking Ostel looked to what he now beheld ... and he couldn't shake his head to refocus himself this time. The woman's last words and the death of her family, caused by him and his companions brought the stout warrior's to his knees in utter disbelief. For what seemed like ages he just stared, mouth dropped in shoxk at the scene that lay before him. And then Ostel Von Grimward, the Sapientis lux, did something he never did before ... he ran. He scrambled out of the dock's, too terrified to even scream or cry out. He ran away from the family of the dead as fast as his legs could carry him. So panicked he was that he never saw the fallen white cloak, tripping over the dead corpse and falling. Expecting sand Ostel's head came crashing down onto the head of another white cloak's corpse. Winching in pain the Grimward then looked around him and saw he was among a sizable part of the fallen white cloaks that must of been killed. Her and their he saw among the faces men and women, all in their death gaze.. And to his mind they were all staring AT him, muttering the woman's last word, "Murderer" Overcome in the terror in his own mind Ostel turned over and buried his head into the bloodied sand, "No .. No No ...I'm not ... I'm .." The sight of his actions finally unhinged the once confident young man. And there among the slain white cloaks, a lone black cloaked figure did softly cry and weep among the slain. ----------------------- Ragnar Ironside stumbled off Ser Victor's horse in front of The Cove Inn with a annoyed look on his face, "Damn I leave Ostel alone for a few hours and he goes and starts a damned riot ... but the worst part is that I wasn't Here! I'm almost insulted!" He said with a moopy look as he approached the front of the battered inn. As he got closer though he saw Alicia's naked form as well as Summer in the arms of a dark-haired beauty and the new companions of theirs. Being respectfully of Alicia's naked form Ragnar kept his gaze focused on the newcomers, "Well I guess introductions are in order. Ragnar Ironside of the Dwarven kingdom of Hammerfell in Batillus, and if you helped out that shifter there then rest assured I mean you all no harm." The assembled group seemed to relax their guard just a bit. Behind them came Ser Victor rode on his black warhorse, "And I am Ser Gerald Victor of the Knights of Lionsmaw. I can see that Ragnar was not jesting when he said that the Puritans had a big target. I deeply apologize for the rough night you have all had. And also I fear I must ask that you accompany me to the Lionsmaw Castle as soon as posible for your and Nadar's protection. Fear not as I am not taking you as prisoners, but you riled up a hornet's nest in Nadar. You have my knight's honor that you will be treated as honored guests." He said truly. Nevertheless the dark-haired woman holding the trembling elf in her arms then shot back, "What makes you think after seeing this that we would trust "Human Honor," She said with a look of defiance. As if to add onto that one of the pale skinned women responded as well, "She does have a point Ser Victor, not that we doubt your intentions but you can understand our doubt." Sighing, Ser Victor dismounted from his warhorse handed the reigns to a subordinate, and then took off his steel lion's helmet, showing his gray haired head and beard. His tired eyes came toward the group and bowed his head, "I plead with you to accompany me to the Castle, It's not safe in the city after this riot. And the city wouldn't be safe with you. If you know Ostel Von Grimward then know I taught him much of what he knows. You must believe me that I mean no harm to you. Bring Ostel forth and he'll vouch for my honor." He pleaded with the group down on one knee. It was then that a worried Ragnar looked around, "Wait an arse's second ... where is the lad?" The dwarf said looking around almost in a panicked demeanor. The dark-haired woman holding the trembling elf then said hurriedly, "H .. He charged the throng of them and ... but I don't see him standing." At that moment Ragnar Ironside then felt something he hadn't felt in a long time, a twinge of fear. The autumn bearded dwarf took off in the direction straight out from Inn calling his pupil's name, "If that dolt got himself killed I Swear to King Daren's arse I'll Kill him again! OSTEL!! Come out Here you Fraking Bastard!" he said running as his legs could carry him on the icy shore. He slipped a few times with his feet being unused to such magic but he kept sprinting, praying and hoping he would see his pupil's smug grin standing among the carnage alive. Because he planned to level him good into the ground for charging a host that large. “Am I Deranged That All My Life I Wait For You?” After the fighting had subdued Adonis ran over to Keirana with Thanos. “Are you alright?” he asked her with an embrace. “Yes. I think I will be fine.” “You came for me” Adonis said with a happy look in his face. “Of course I did my love” she said smiling. By that time a dwarven man and a knight came over to them and they introduced themselves. Adonis and Keirana stood up by looking at the dwarven man they sensed he was an honorable being. “I am Adonis Beltane of Tenebra.” Adonis said bowing to the dwarf first, and after he bowed to the knight Keirana introduced herself. “I am Keirana Desmond of Tenebra as well. You probably have figured out why we are here and that we are vampires.” The Knight smiled and introduced himself as well as Ragnar did. Adonis looked at the dead cultists bodies and shook his head. “Those cultist aren’t anything but persistent. I had never expected this to happen although I wasn’t too surprised from what I know about them.” Keirana looked at Adonis worried. “What happened?” she asked him. “Well they trapped me. This man had hired me to take care of some “bandits” who were going around villages raping innocent children and women and killing men. Well apparently the cultists were the so called bandits and the man who hired me was one of them. When I went to meet the man they chained me in silver and hit me over the head.” “We can discuss it more after we all have had some rest” Keirana reassured him. “That dire wolf of yours knows what to do in battle from what I saw” Ragnar said to Keirana. “Oh Fenris? He may seem like that but he is a big baby.” Keirana said smiling. It seemed almost perfect that Fenris went darting across them whimpering, who ran after them closely was Keirana’s cat Scrappy and Ostel’s wolf Snow. The group laughed weakly, and Adonis turned to Ser Victor. “We would be more than delighted to take you up on your offer kind sir.” After that Ragnar seemed to noticed that Ostel was nowhere to be seen with them. He then shouted out for Ostel to show himself and then left off to go find the man. -------- Alicia could hear the words being passed over her, but she herself was unable to say a word let alone move a muscle. She was trying desperately at this point to get someone's attention as she could feel her body getting colder as she lost blood, the wound on her shoulder worse than any would have thought. As the shifter tried to form words, she watched as Ragnar ran off in search of Ostel as she finally managed to grab a hold of the female vampire's pant legs. Keirana looked down at the women trying to grab her leg. She knelt down and picked up the woman carefully placing her in her arms. Adonis then took his cape and ripped a huge strip off and began to place it firmly over the wound to slow the bleeding down. Alicia let out a whimper, the pressure causing fresh pain to blossom at the wound even though Keirana had dulled the pain. Pale and obviously weak, she hid her face in the other female's chest, shaking because of how weak she was becoming. Keirana took Alicia's hand in her hand as to comfort her as much as she could and, Adonis took the rest of his cape and placed it softly on Alicia's body covering her up. "Thank you," she murmured, her voice was soft, barely noticeable to the human ears but then again, the ones helping her weren't exactly human to begin with. "No problem my dear." Alicia smiled weakly before closing her eyes finally, allowing her body the rest she knew that it needed. Before she drifted off though, she squeezed Keirana's hand, "I need to see a medic," she murmured, "I'm too weak to do much of anything and I am sure you've noticed that I have lost too much blood." As Alicia drifted off to sleep she heard Keirana's soothing voice say "it's going to be okay hun we are going to get you all better... I promise..." ------------ About ten minutes later Ragnar and a young man joined them. Keirana looked at the young man who had a tired and worried look on his face after everything that happened. “Well shall we make our way to the castle?” Ragnar asked when they got the group. “I think that would be best” Adonis said. With that the group assembled together and started their journey with Ser Victor back to castle Lionsmaw. Edit: May 24, 12 3:54pm -------------------
