I am going to write an RP that could best be described to literature nerds as magical realism, with the slider somewhat closer to magical than it is to realism. It takes place in the, uh, shall we call it "post-societal" world that I dreamed up when I was sixteen years old, and which was inspired entirely by the types of landscapes I imagine when I listen to Linkin Park's Reanimation album.

A brief rundown of the plot, because who cares about the thread this sort of thing is supposed to happen in:

At some point all of the negativity, evil, and generally bad karma that existed in a world that was probably ours built up and went kersnap. The resulting imbalance has shifted that world, the very planet itself, out of the reality it once existed in. One of the most noticeable pieces of evidence that this has occurred is that the sky is gone, replaced by an infinite brown haze that hovers a few thousand feet off the ground and is always faintly illuminated as if there was still a sun out there.

At the exact moment of this shift in balance, everyone in the world received a powerful compulsion to do something naughty, to indulge some dark passion or give into their dark side for just a moment. Everyone who gave in at that moment, did their dirty deed, was in the blink of an eye transformed into a twisted, monstrous version of themselves, sometimes gaining great power as a result of their transformation. These people, the majority of the population, are now more or less in control of this ruin of a world, those people who for whatever reason failed to be evil when the time came being left at the mercy of psychopaths and (literal) monsters.

That's the setting I'm working with. The plot involves visions about some mighty entity arriving in this world to either set things right or wipe out reality and start from scratch, depending its mood at the moment of its arrival.

This may also become a novel, since it is my second oldest idea and also my second favorite. What think ye, forumgoers? Interest? No interest? I mean, I'm going to write and post it anyway because I want to, I just want to know if I can anticipate the pleasure of reading character sheets. Yes, I do find reading other people's non-professional creative endeavors pleasurable. . .might be why I wanted to be a writing teacher.
