The war in Afghanistan started in 2001. It was a response to the 9/11 attacks, when they tried to destroy the Pentagon, White House and World Trade Center, they succeeded you can say. Luckily the White house wasn't hit. Sadly, the WTCs and the Pentagon was.
The purpose was to capture Osama Bin laden, destroy al-Quaeda and remove the Taliban regime which had provided support and safe harbor to al-Qaeda.

The initial attack removed the Taliban from power, but Taliban forces have since regained some strength. The war has been less successful in achieving the goal of restricting al-Qaeda's movement. Since 2006, Afghanistan has seen threats to its stability from increased Taliban-led insurgent activity, record-high levels of illegal drug production. As of end 2008, the war has been unsuccessful in its primary purpose of capturing Osama bin Laden, while tensions have grown with regional ally Pakistan over hot pursuit of the Taliban into Pakistani territory giving sanctuary to the Taliban and Al Qaeda.

Me and and some buddies were investigating a simple home which we thought Osama would be hiding in, it sounded simple, but after 9 years of searching, it was worse the shot.
Not to be specific since it's quite the long story, but we got ambushed inside, some died, the rest got captured. I was one of them.
I woke up in the same room as my buddies, my face had a potatoe bag over it though. I was panicking, on my knees, hands tied behind my back, I couldn't see and the only thing I could hear was gun shots from a far distance and terrorists screaming in a foreign language.
I could admit that I was never as scared.

But before we go into details, this is how it all began.
