On a disturbing note-- Every time I go to the book store, I see an entire display dedicated to Vampiric-Romance. Not twilight, but other authors who have decided to leech off of the incomprehensible popularity of the series. Like some kind of... vampire.



It makes me rage, to be honest. (It would be one thing if the books were actually good.)

Just to retaliate, I'm going to go write a book where the main love interest turns out to be a Mummy. Then the next "angsty forbidden romance" boom can be centered around necrophilia. Mmmm.

How much time is spent on RP creation and entries:

Sadly, my RPs aren't that popular or good or something. So I tend to hoard all my ideas to myself like some sort of fiend. Or squirrel. (Or both.) So while I do spend a lot of preparation time, I only act on ideas if I feel that there might be a slim chance of others joining. (otherwise I tend to suffer from a sort of burn-out syndrome, and that's not fun at all.)



On entries, I tend to go overboard with the text.

But that's okay. (No it isn't. D=<)


I try to include a plot point and push with every entry, so that the story doesn't stray or get too caught up in side events. So the effort goes to expanding the plot and finding an appropriate place to stop expanding. (Sometimes this can go on for a long while. >_> ) But I really like it-- Watching the plots of everyone else grow, and the mingling character interactions. The relationships that are forged, the characters that grow, and all the twists and turns~ It's all very gratifying, and well worth the effort.


So effort is quite crucial, in my opinion. I respect those who put a lot of effort into the things that they do. >=3

Right, so I've been bombarded mentally with three little idea thingies which won't go away until I make a short story out of them (or make half of a short story out of them before becoming uninterested) or turn them into RPs. So, I've decided to turn one into an RP. It's doomed to fail but it'll just be a side-attraction when needed for whoever gives a shit. So, first three votes for an idea wins it, and yes I am this incredibly naive to believe anyone gives a crap.

A parkour organisation splits down the middle when half of them go rogue and start *bleep*ing shit up (think Mirror's Edge but without the ridiculous amount of guns and channeling the spirit of Fight Club).

The seal holding together the twin gods, Yin and Yang, is broken and the two are banished to the After causing complete chaos in its purest form on an unsuspecting modern Earth.

Or, quite simply, Kung Fu Zombies.

3, 2, 1, go.

I like building worlds. It's just doing stuff with them after I've built them is where things start to come apart a little.

Re: vampires.
Not just one specific type of vampire. All vampires are in this. Ones that explode spectacularly in direct sunlight, ones that find it a mere nuisance, ones that just have no powers in the light, ones that have no problem with it at all.
Vampires that can only be killed by staking them in the heart, ones where you have to cut their head off as well (both of which also work on normal people), ones which are affected by holy symbols, ones that aren't. Some that have a problem with garlic, some that don't.
Vampires that are suave and sophisticated, vampires that are little more than zombies, rotting corspes, thralls or slaves. Blood donors, blood banks, all of that stuff.
Vampires that have mind control powers (hypnosis or whatever), ones that can turn into a wolf, bats or mist, ones that can control the weather. Anal retentive vampires who have to count poppy seeds, or spend eternity looking for their socks. (I'd hate to meet one who was the opposite.)
If it's ever been thought of (by me) for vampires, it'll be there. There so many different kinds of vampire I decided to deal with it by not dealing with it. Half the fun will be trying to find out which particular kind of vampire that it is.
But no half vampires and definitely no sparkling.

Basically, think of modern day New York, but populated by all fantasy races. All of them, from elves and dwarfs to faeries and pixies to trolls and ogres to orcs and goblins to werewolves and zombies.
But I expect that most people will play (if they join) as humans.

And in this, is the MCU. Magical Crimes Unit, who have to deal with things like murders of pixies, or forged magical amulets, possessed cars, haunted apartments, localized zombie apocalypses and rogue wizards, witches, warlocks, sorcerors, mages, necromancers, et al.

The title, obviously, owes more than a little to those CSI-type shows.

Scott's idea sounds nifty.

And I? I have developed a recent, and likely fleeting, obsession with deserts. Desert lifestyles, desert marauders, desert cities, desert tribes. I like the types of mythos that typically arise from desert cultures. I don't know what to do with that yet though.

A desert idea sounds interesting. I took part in an RP once that was located in a desert, the characters were all situated in various, err, what do you call them... caravans I think? I can't remember the plot anymore, just that it had something to do with alchemy and some oasis paradise.

...Or something to that effect. I'll have to go look at it again sometime.

@Tiger - - I like the Yin Yang idea. Sparks my interest more than the others, to be honest. ^^;

@Scott Cee - - I like your idea too, something I would keep an eye out for. =)
