Log in to remove this sponsored message "Hey Boss, hurry up, would ya?" The man sighed. Didn't they realize that these things take time? "Yeah Boss, come on, we're starving!" "If you want it that badly, do it yourself!!" The Boss yelled, rising from his stool where he'd been cutting meat for dinner. The four other men at the campsite grumbled abashedly; the Boss knew this was as close as he was going to get to a "sorry". He went back to cooking. ----- Twenty minutes later, as the sun sank below the trees, four bodies were seated around the campfire, enjoying a meal of venison and venison with a side of venison. They didn't complain, though - their Boss was an excellent cook. One of the men turned to tell him so, only to find empty air. "Where'd Boss go?" he asked, turning back to the others. "I dunno. Probably wandered off somewhere again." "Geez. He's gotta stop doin' that to us." "He'll be back, don' worry." ----- As it was, the Boss was currently sitting about 20 miles away, on a rocky outcropping that jutted off the face of the mountain. Far below him, the trees stretched on for miles, an endless sea of emerald green. An occasional bird glided by, silhouetted by the orange glow of the setting sun. The Boss gazed towards the sun, and as it slowly sank beneath the horizon, his thoughts turned to her. He'd sat in this exact spot with her many times, watching similar sunsets, his arm around her slender waist, her head on his shoulder, her long, pale gold hair cascading around them both. That all seemed so long ago now. So much had happened... He looked off in the direction of Reimoorse. She was there right now. He knew he could be, too, if he wanted to be, but... they had both agreed it was better to work separately. It was strange, but he could have sworn the sky above Reimoorse was slightly more orange. 'She must just be that radiant,' he thought, and chuckled despite the tear in his eye. He sighed. It wasn't to be, he kept telling himself, but his heart just wouldn't listen. Pulling his knees up to his chest, he closed his eyes and sang quietly to himself. "I never wanted the stars, Never shot for the moon. I like them right where they are; All I wanted was you......" OOC: Ten Amazing Points to whoever can tell me the name of the song. Five if you Google it. =P And a whopping 50 Amazing Points to whoever can tell me the Boss's name AND how you know. ------------------- | |

Four figures stood around an oval-shaped wooden table, though there looked to be enough space to accomodate at least three others. Their surroundings were hidden by a deep purple haze that wound its way between their legs like smoke, hiding their feet from view.
"Everyone accounted for?" One of the individuals spoke. She, like the others, was draped in robes of silver cloth, accentuating her pale golden hair, which danced about in the slight breeze, wrapping itself beautifully around her slender body. Her eyes radiated a brilliant violet color, and seemed almost out-of-place in her delicate features. "Aracnid, Arcaia, and Alaster are currently in the field. They have their missions. I need reports from you three." She motioned to the other figures at the table. "Let's hear from Angei first." Another female nodded and brushed her jet-black bangs from her bright green eyes. Her hair hung straight to just above her coffee-colored shoulders, the bangs slightly concealing a slender emerald gem set in the center of her forehead. She spoke with a deep, yet delicate voice. "The situation in Raithe remains unchanged. The new weapons are dangerous, certainly, but I see no reason for us to intervene. They merely seem to be a replacement for bows - and an upgrade at that. But there is nothing we can or should do; only time will tell." "Thank you, Angei," the lead figure nodded in Angei's direction. "Anysia, you next." The figure she motioned to was a maiden with luminous orange eyes. Locks of beautiful crimson hair fell in curls to her well-shaped breasts, and a pair of dimples perfectly adorned her unblemished face. When she spoke, it was with a nearly imperceptible accent. "The construction is going well. The residents of Canopie seem virtually unaware anything is going on, and I do hope we can keep it that way. Nothing else to report." The blonde woman smiled and nodded. "Very well. And finally, we come to you, Axel." The one man at the table smirked. He was slightly taller than the other three, and saffron hair hung about his face, handsomely framing his brilliant golden eyes. A silver earring in the shape of a cross hung from his left ear and he held a black, wide-brimmed hat by his side. "There's something going on in Tul's swamp, I'm sure of it. I just wish I knew what it is. It seems every time I get close to the source, it vanishes from under my nose. I'm heading back there shortly after the meeting to try a new approach." "Very well, Axel, you may be off." The man nodded curtly and stepped out of his white robes, revealing a black trenchcoat beneath. His godly demeanor quickly vanished as he placed his hat upon his head, pulling it down in front of his eyes so that all that could be seen was a freakish golden glow. With a smirk back at his comrades, he stepped into the mist surrounding the table and vanished. 'There's something strange about him...' The lead figure mused, staring off after him. "...Ava? You okay?" Angei spoke, noticing Ava's distant gaze. She snapped back to reality. "Yes, yes, I'm fine. You two are dismissed as well. Anysia, get back to Canopie and oversee the construction. Angei, you're done for now, I'll contact you tomorrow with instructions." The two women nodded consent, then stepped back into the mist, leaving the lone figure of Ava standing at the table. She took a deep breath, then closed her eyes. When she re-opened them, she found herself back in the Reimoorse Inn - one of the few remaining buildings in the destroyed city. She gazed out her window upon the destruction and sighed. "So much evil..." she said sadly, a tear rolling down her milky cheek. ----- Cojisto stood at the gates of the Plume church, gazing up in wonder at the gilded carvings adorning its entrance. It truly was a spectacle: angels and cherubs of all shapes and sizes, sculpted and engraved around the arch, painted in shimmering gold and silver. It was enthralling. As Cojisto moved to step into the church, a figure appeared from the shadows of the giant door. "Your name is Cojisto, is it not?" the man asked, a glint in his radiant crimson eyes. He was completely bald, though he was cloaked head-to-foot in a heavy plum-colored coat. It was odd, Cojisto thought, that he had his hood up - it was a fairly balmly day. The man's odd clothing was the least of Cojisto's concerns, though. More important was the fact that this strange person knew his name. "I... am. I doubt I'm the one you're searching for, sir - I've never seen you in my life." He made to move into the church again. "Cojisto Domka?" Cojisto did a double-take. He turned back to the man. "Alright, apparently it is me. Who are you and what do you want?" The man just smiled and stepped closer. Laying his hand on Cojisto's shoulder, which was significantly higher than his own, he whispered, "You're in the wrong place, son..." "I'm... what?" Without warning, the man pressed his palm against Cojisto's forehead. Before Cojisto could protest, he felt the strange sensation that he was being lifted slightly off the ground. He tried to open his eyes but found that he couldn't, no matter how hard he tried. A few seconds later, his feet found the earth again, and his eyes snapped open. The strange man was nowhere to be found, but Cojisto was standing in front of a signpost. It read: 2 miles to Soard --> Scrawled on the wood beneath the writing was an advertisement: New guild. Brave souls wanted. Meet in Plums. ----- OOC: Yeah, seems cliched, I'll admit. But me and Amano make cliches work. =P EDIT: Changed a name for reasons of my own. >_> Edit: Jul 28, 08 ------------------- | |

Ava sat on her bed in the Reimoorse Inn. She was shirtless, not because it was hot - in fact, it was quite cool in her room - but simply because she didn't feel like getting dressed. She didn't feel like doing much of anything lately. She'd barely moved from her bed since the meeting two nights prior. The once-grand skyline of Reimoorse was visible out her window, now blackened, burned, and destroyed. In an effort to avoid the view, she fell backwards, her long, golden hair cascading about her as her head hit the pillow with a soft thump.
Ava took a deep breath. It was over, she knew. The past was the past, there was no changing that. But still... she had seen it coming. She had known the plan beforehand and still she couldn't stop it. And then... and then the youngster. Granted, Aracnid was mature beyond his years, but to bring him into the loop at such a young age... it wasn't right. and yet, Ava knew they had had little choice. The only way to stop Adore without directly interfering was to start a guild of their own, and they needed a fresh face to lead it - a face the enemy wouldn't recognize. Aracnid and his mentor Lutious were their best bet. Ava sighed. Things were quickly spiraling out of control. If only she had stopped the attack... She hoped the new guild would be enough to... Her thoughts were shattered by a soft whooshing sound as a cloaked man appeared out of thin air. She yelped in surprise and reached for her sheet. Pulling it up over her breasts, she glared at her visitor. "Alaster!! I've TOLD you not to do that! Couldn't you have, I don't know, appeared OUTSIDE my door and KNOCKED?!" "There was a maid." Alaster replied simply and sat down on the end of the bed, paying no heed to the fact that Ava was currently topless. He removed his hood, exposing his bald head, then sat there for a moment, silent. "Well, Alaster, what do you want?" "I located one of our strays." He spoke very directly and to the point, his deep voice cool and calm. "He's on his way now. The other still eludes me." "Thank you, Alaster," Ava said, some relief in her voice. At least this was a little bit of good news. Alaster stood to leave, but Ava stopped him. "Wait, Alaster - I'm changing your assignment." Alaster turned, his bright red eyes staring into Ava's purple. "I'm worried," Ava said, her voice soft. "Aracnid hasn't checked in at all in a week; I haver no way of knowing the progress of the guild." Her voice hardened back into that of a general directing her troops. "I'd like you to go listen in on the initial meeting - it should be starting shortly somewhere in Soard. Report back to me afterwards, then you can resume searching for our missing link." Alaster nodded as Ava finished, pulling his hood back onto his head. "And this 'Lutious' - how much does he know?" "Nothing." "I'll be careful, then." With only those words as a goodbye, Alaster vanished into space, another soft whooshing accompanying his departure. Ava let the sheet covering her chest fall and rolled over onto her side. She stared out the window at the stars barely visible in the evening sky, hanging high over the ruins of Reimoorse. Her mind began to wander, and she thought of him. Maybe once this threat was over, they could be together again... but that was a long way off, Ava knew. Hell, they had no clue what the threat even WAS... but it was certainly out there. Ava knew that she was compromised - and being with him meant compromising them both. That was something they couldn't afford. "Arcaia..." she whispered, and clutched at her pillow, her eyes welling. ----- Miles and miles away, on the rock outcropping overlooking the Rift Forest, the Boss sat, watching the sunset alone for the twelfth day in a row. His long white hair billowed in the breeze, a four-foot sword holstered at his waist. "Ava..." he whispered, his head in his hands. ------------------- | |

re: Adore: Shades of Black {~M~}

The conversation between the four people in the corner of Plums dragged on, not one of them noticing the cloaked figure two tables over, whose red eyes had been trained on them from the start. Alaster sighed. Why did Ava want him here? Aracnid wasn't even in town, by the looks of things. And not a word had even been said about "Geist"... or "Adore", for that matter. Alaster didn't care about the cripple's handicapped arm, or the lady's "unique combat style". The issue was and should be Adore.
Alaster cast a glance around the bar. It wasn't exactly the most reputable of places, that was for certain. There were quite a few shady characters at the many tables strewn almost randomly about the room. His gaze lingered on a group of men sitting by the door, wearing what looked to be Adore ponchos. 'Now THAT would be interesting...' Alaster thought with a chuckle. As he stared at the men, the door opened and a teenager dressed in all black entered and made a beeline for the table between Alaster and the Geist recruits. Alaster cursed under his breath; he'd been banking on having an unobstructed view of the proceedings. Shifting his chair back a little, he attempted to inconspicuously reposition himself for a better view, but the dark-haired teenager had inadvertently sat himself perfectly at the table to hamper Alaster's view of Lutious. He closed his eyes and attempted to focus on the conversation he had been assigned to cover, but as he did so, the teenager shifted nervously. Alaster opened his eyes and studied the teen a bit more carefully. He had jet-black hair down to the nape of his neck, spiked outwards at the ends. He wore a black tank top with baggy black pants, and half of a skirt affixed to his right pant leg, also black. Barely visible against the black fabric were the handles of three katanas, each a different length. Alaster raised an eyebrow at this, but turned back to the meeting, where Lutious was talking. "...should probably keep our voices down," he was saying, with a glance at the teenager to his right. "Adore members don't always wear ponchos, and we can't afford to let them know what we're planning." As he finished his sentence, the teenager rose. Alaster was grateful he was able to see the table again, but his hope quickly faded upon seeing the teen reach for one of his blades. In a flash, Alaster stood, knocking over his chair and lunging across both tables that separated him from the attacker. He plowed into teen just as the katana came level with Lutious's neck. With a cry, both figures tumbled to the floor, rolling under the table at which the Geist members sat. The teenager's grey eyes glared up at the bald man on top of him. "Man, I knew this wasn't gonna be that simple!" he said, more to himself than to Alaster. He grabbed Alaster by the cloak and rolled to his left, sending Alaster flying into an adjacent table. Both of them stumbled to their feet, amidst puzzled gazes from Lutious and the three Geist recruits. The other patrons of the bar obviously didn't find skirmishes out of the ordinary. "You're from Adore, aren't you?" Alaster asked as he pulled a pair of leather gloves from his pocket and slipped them on. The teen didn't answer, he just raised his katana and smirked. It was enough of an answer for Alaster, who nodded and said, "Then I won't feel bad about this." ----- Kieta's encounter with the strange young man and his stranger book had left her just a tad confused. He hadn't said much, just asked for the book back. In a trance, she had given it to him, he had thanked her, and then he was gone. What in the world did he need a blank book for, anyway? She shook her head; it wasn't important. She continued down the forest path, alone save for the animals in the trees around her. She didn't notice anything out of the ordinary until the darkness overwhelmed her. Without realizing it, she had stumbled into an area of thicker under- and overgrowth which completely shaded the evening sun from the path. Kieta swallowed. It was strange, for she wasn't afraid of the dark. It was something about her surroundings, some presence that had her on edge. A soft rustling sound made her jump (another out-of-character action), as a squirrel scampered across her path. There was certainly something strange about these woods... She took a few more steps forward and peered into the gloom. A strange yellow light had suddenly appeared in the distance. Intrigued, Kieta pressed on. The glow grew brighter and larger as she approached, and from out of the darkness, the shape of a man appeared, silhouetted by the golden light. Kieta gasped as she realized the man was standing over a corpse... a very bloody, headless corpse. She stopped short, but her final step landed on a twig. The sound seemed to echo in the relative silence around her. At the sound, the man turned, and Kieta realized where the light was coming from - the man's eyes glowed a freakish shade of yellow under his hat. Brushing a piece of saffron hair from his face, the man spoke. "And what brings you to this neck of the woods, hmmm?" Kieta was about to answer when she spotted the man's hands. They were stained crimson with blood. ----- EDIT: OOC: *cough* Anyone can start that battle in the bar. Edit: Aug 17, 08 ------------------- | |

"Those who care to join Geist! You three!! If you care to join, then follow me! Otherwise, stay here and watch Adore kill you like this man could have!"
With those words, Lutious was gone. Alaster watched from the doorway as Cojisto and Siv took off after him. No sign of the third man, the cripple. Alaster paused. He had a mission.... but this assignment trumped it; Ava had made that clear. Chances were, Lutious planned to continue the guild meeting somewhere secret, somewhere safe from Adore. As there was no time to check in with Ava, Alaster made a snap decision and took off after the shrinking figures in the distance. ----- Kieta stood, immobilized. By fear or shock, she knew not which, but suddenly her legs just didn't want to work. "I asked you a question," the blood-stained man said, "It's rude to ignore people, you know." Kieta couldn't decide what was more horrifying - the decapitated corpse on the ground or the man's glowing yellow eyes, which were no doubt enhanced by the pitch-blackness around them. "I... I..." Kieta stammered, and the man took a step closer. All of a sudden, her legs kicked into gear and off she flew back the way she came. She could hear the man shout "Hey!" behind her, but she never looked back, not until she was well out of the thicket and the afternoon sun once again shone upon the forest. She paused for a split second to decide which way to go, then took off to the west, as fast as her legs would carry her. ----- "Damn," Axel cursed as the girl faded from sight, "Here's hoping she doesn't go screaming about this.... wouldn't look very good for me, now would it?" He was talking to the corpse more than to himself. "Shame," he muttered, shaking his head at the body at his feet, "I wish you'd had more information for me... your condition's, eh, not that great." He sighed, bent down, and dragged the headless body off the path into the trees. "No time for a proper burial," he mused, picking up a towel and wiping the blood off his hands. "Sorry." ------------------- | |

"No, we can't," Lutious replied. "And I'd tell you where we're headed but.... well, just wait and see."
Lutious slowed his pace to a jog as they exited Soard, allowing the others to catch up. There was Siv and Cojisto, plus two stragglers from the barfight he didn't recognize. 'Well,' he supposed, 'The more the merrier - we DO need to get this guild kick-started.' Kicking it into gear again, the five travelers sped up. "Forgive me for being rude," Alaster panted, "But... why are we still running?" "Get there faster." Lutious said simply, nodding. "And where is 'there'?" Siv asked impatiently. "About... four miles north of here." "FOUR miles?!" Alaster exclaimed, "And we're going to RUN? And in the rain..." He sighed... he wasn't used to this kind of exercise. He could always... but he shook his head; he had to run with them, there'd be no way to explain how he got to their destination otherwise. To his dismay, the other three were keeping up quite well with Lutious. Willing himself on, he put his head down and ran. --Four miles later-- As they jogged down a dirt path winding through the Rift Forest, Lutious slowed down, with Siv, Cojisto, and the stranger right behind him. Alaster appeared about 15 seconds later, completely winded. "We're almost there. This way." Lutious looked pointed into the dense forest. "Um... what way?" Cojisto asked, peering into the trees. "This way." Lutious repeated, lifting a pine branch to reveal a perfectly concealed, yet well-kept path through the undergrowth. A traveler along the road would never even notice anything out of the ordinary. Beckoning, Lutious ducked under the branch and vanished from sight. The other four eagerly followed, intrigued as to where the hidden trail might lead. They traipsed through the forest for a good ten minutes when all of a sudden, the branches parted and they entered a beautiful glade surrounded by the massive trunks of oaks and redwoods. The four new recruits gazed around in wonder at the natural beauty of the clearing, their eyes traveling over every flower and rock, across the enormous trees, and out the other side, where a path led upwards at a gentle slope until it ended in a sturdy-looking rope bridge. Their eyes continued to follow the bridge up and up, until all four gasped collectively. High above the group, nestled among the treetops, was a building, so perfectly constructed out of wood that it almost blended into the trees. Bridges spread from it majestically, reminiscent of a spiderweb, leading to multiple smaller buildings constructed in a similar manner to the large one. The scene was awe-inspiring. "Welcome to Canopie," Lutious said. Edit: Nov 03, 08 ------------------- | |

"Oh yes, we're here for a reason," Lutious said, unfazed by Sylvia's imposing demeanor. "What you are looking at is the newly-constructed Guild Hall of Geist. But let's not continue our meeting out here, follow me." As Lutious proceeded to stride past Siv, a rustling sound was heard from the woods around them. Lutious paused. Sylvia turned to take a few steps towards the sound, when all of a sudden a figure came barreling out of the forest, crashing into Siv and sending them both to the ground. Cojisto and Alaster were quick to take a defensive stance, until they saw the intruder to be not an Adore member, but a woman wearing a makeshift suit of armor.
"What the hell is your problem?!" Siv exclaimed, shoving the woman off of her. "And where the hell did you come from?" The girl looked frightened for a second, but quickly shook it off. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," she said, getting up and extending a hand to help Sylvia, though it was slapped away. "I... what are you people doing in the for..." Before she could finish, the impressive sight of Canopie caught her eye, and she just stared up at the buildings for a minute before Cojisto finally asked her name. "K... Kieta," she said. "I'm... I guess you could call me a wanderer." "Well then, you're in good company," Sylvia said, still not entirely happy about being knocked on her ass. "Welcome, Kieta. Come along." Lutious turned and headed up the path into the trees. Alaster, Sylvia, Cojisto, and the stranger were quick to follow, with a slightly baffled Kieta not far behind. "Hope no one's afraid of heights," the stranger commented, looking down over the side of the rope bridge. It was the first time he'd spoken, and the other three recruits seemed to suddenly realize he wasn't at the original meeting. "Wait... who are you, anyways?" Cojisto finally asked as they continued to proceed upwards. "The name's Condor," the man said with a gentle smile. "Nice to meet you." The others glanced at each other - he seemed nice enough. A minute of climbing later, and the group of five stood at the giant oak doors marking the entrance to the Main Hall. Sylvia looked around; she couldn't help but notice that Canopie seemed to be completely deserted. As Lutious opened the massive doors, she spoke up. "Um... forgive me for my naivete, but... where is everyone?" "This is everyone," Lutious said, ushering them through the doors. "You're the first recruits of Geist, remember?" The inside of the Guild Hall was beautifully decorated in all different kinds of wood - maple, oak, mahogany, birch... a rather large foyer with comfortable-looking chairs and couches greeted them, punctuated by an impressive staircase that appeared to be marble at first glance, though it was revealed to be wood at the touch. Lutious motioned for the five of them to sit down around a table, then took a seat himself. "As I said before, welcome to Canopie. Now I see three faces that weren't introduced in Soard. Care to do so?" Alaster and Condor introduced themselves, followed by Kieta. Lutious nodded before continuing. "Now, should you choose to stay on with Geist, this place will become your home. I must warn you, the work will not be easy, nor will it be safe. But I promise you - it will be well worth it. Any questions?" Edit: Nov 03, 08 ------------------- | |

re: Adore: Shades of Black {~M~}

"I got a question," Cojisto spoke up, "How in the heck did ya build this place?"
Lutious just smirked and nodded. "Something even I'm not sure of. You see, there should be one more body among us - I have no idea where my young partner Aracnid has run off to. Most likely he's looking for us in Soard, actually. ...Anyway, it was he that commissioned the building of Canopie. As to how it was actually constructed, I was left in the dark. Suffice to say that Aracnid has some fairly skilled friends." Alaster choked back a chuckle. Some skilled friends indeed... if only Lutious knew. And so, the meeting dragged on. Some information Lutious related to them was interesting, some unnecessary, and all of it just plain strange. Alaster sat through the Q&A session without saying a word; he was amazed at how little the others actually knew about Adore. 'Can these guys REALLY take down an entire guild?' he thought with trepidation. They were skilled, to be sure, but as Ava always said, knowledge is the key to victory. One wrong move in the presence of an Adore member and you'd find your throat slit before you knew what happened. He wondered if the new recruits were possibly ready for what lay ahead. As Lutious began talking about their living accommodations, Alaster stood and asked where the bathroom was. Lutious pointed him to a door beneath the grand staircase. Once inside, Alaster immediately latched the door. He closed his eyes and felt the familiar sensation of his feet hovering off the ground. When he re-opened them, he was once again inside Ava's room in Reimoorse. "Alaster?" Ava looked up from her chair, in which she had been reading a book. "Any news?" "Aracnid's nowhere to be found. Lutious has no idea where he is, though it's a possibility that he's still in Soard. The guild meeting had to be relocated due to an Adore attack." "One step ahead of us as always..." Ava mused. "How in the world do they do it?" Ava, of course, knew how they could do it, but the thought was painful. It was one of them; an inside man. But no... she trusted all her colleagues with her life. The thought that a shadow lay amongst them almost physically hurt. "One more thing," Alaster spoke, his red eyes staring unflinching into Ava's purple. "What would you say to my joining Geist? No offense to Lutious, but the crew he's found seems rather... unreliable." "They have Aracnid. I think they'll be fine." "Unfortunately they do not have Aracnid right now, and in the few short months he's been in the know, he's already proven unreliable. You said it yourself: he hasn't checked in in over a week. I believe we should have a fail-safe in place." Ava paused. Alaster certainly had a point. She took a deep breath and nodded. "Very well Alaster, you shall join Geist under the guise of a new recruit. That is your mission until further notice." Alaster quickly nodded, then said, "I should be getting back. They'll begin to suspect something should I take too long in the bathroom." Ava chuckled quietly and nodded. With a soft whoosh, Alaster was gone. A few seconds later, there came a knock at the door. 'Finally, a knock for once,' Ava thought, shaking her head. 'I've gotten too used to Alaster's random appearances.' She crossed the room and opened the door to find a familiar face staring back at her: two brilliant blue eyes framed by long white hair. "Arcaia...? You know you shouldn't..." Ava stopped suddenly as Arcaia looked down at his stomach. Her eyes followed his until they were staring at Arcaia's hand, quickly turning scarlet as a giant stain spread from underneath it. Without a word, Arcaia collapsed into Ava's arms. ----- Alaster exited the bathroom to hear Lutious saying something about their ranks - something Alaster thought unnecessary at this point, there were only five recruits. "...Prove yourselves. I'm assigning each of you a name of a very low-ranking Adore member. Find your mark, eliminate him or her, and report back to me - in detail. I will assess your ranks from your skill in dealing with your mark. Once you receive your mark, you may begin." ------------------- | |

----- Kieta watched as the girl named Siv dropped her sword to the ground. Was she crazy? She herself would never go off on a dangerous mission of any sort without a weapon. Suddenly, the thought of a mission registered in her mind. Mission? She'd just run into these people in the middle of the woods! How was she suddenly a guild recruit? She quickly raised her hand to get Lutious's attention. "Um... uh, what if we don't... want to be here?" Lutious stared her down. "DO you want to be here?" Kieta was about to answer, but paused. She had nowhere to go right now, and judging from the questions the others asked, she knew more about Adore than any of them. Maybe she was meant to be here after all. Her eyes must have revealed her thoughts to Lutious, who simply nodded before turning towards Siv again, who was just about to leave. "Change of plans, Siv. No matter one's skill, it is probably best not to go alone. One other will accompany you." He turned to the other four recruits. "As there are an odd number of you, one will have to be the odd man out. Who thinks they can work on their own?" Instantly, four hands shot up. "Well... can't say you're not an enthusiastic bunch." Lutious gazed around the table at the four faces, seemingly summing each one up. Finally he nodded. "Okay, Kieta, you're to go with Siv. Alaster and Condor will partner, and Cojisto will have his own mission." All five nodded consent. Lutious paused before motioning towards Sylvia. "You two may go." Sylvia nodded and the two females headed out the door. "Now," Lutious turned to the other three. "Cojisto." Cojisto stood and walked over to where Lutious sat. "Your mark's name is Garrett Olson. He can be most likely found in Valicore, a small town situated in the Gorn Mountains. Nothing to note about this one, though he'll most likely try to flee upon discovery. Have fun." Cojisto nodded and made for the door. "And you two - your mark is Lysander Tirris. Highly skilled with a rapier, be on guard. He's in charge of recruitment for Adore in the city of Saturnine. Take him out, and we severely hinder the progress of recruits from the west. Got it? Good, you're free to go." ------------------- | |
