Log in to remove this advertisement Death Note: The Shining new World "One day, a certain notebook was dropped by a bored Shinigami.... .... And in turn, that certain notebook was picked up by a bored genius." ~~~~~~~~ ~~Story~~ ~~~~~~~~ Light Yagami is an extremely intelligent young man who resents the crime and corruption that are rotting this world. Bored with this life and the people within it, He was in for a drastic change when he discovered a mysterious notebook, known as the "Death Note", lying on the ground. Compelled to pick it up, Light unknowingly sealed his fate... A fate that would consume all those around him, as well. The person whose name is written here will die. Believing such a thing to be a cruel prank, Light is initially skeptical about the authenticity of the Death Note. Could someone's life really be taken away so easily? Could they die by just being written off? All you need is a face, a name, and the will to do so. After writing the names down of two people of whom he felt the world would be better off without, Light has no choice but to accept the Death Note's very real and very terrifying power. In accepting it, he meets the Notebook's former owner... A Shinigami by the name of Ryuk. Ryuk tells Light that only the owner of the Death Note can see him and that he, Light, is now the owner and may use it as he chooses. If Light does not want to keep the notebook, he may give it to someone else and Ryuk will erase all related memories from his mind. The notebook binds both Light and Ryuk, And Light decides that no matter what it takes, no matter who gets involved, he will cleanse the world of evil. Watch, as a seemingly harmless boy is warped into one of the most lethal serial killers of all time.... Do you believe in God? For the All those who are bored with their daily lives, Humankind's top mind game begins. :::::::::: : Plot :: :::::::::: Remember That you are Mortal. Remember That you will die. We often find ourselves wondering..... "What if?" What if more people had decided to act? What if that person had never died? What if Light Yagami had never picked up that accursed notebook? What if you had gotten your hand on such a power? Would you have been condemned to insanity as well? Yes, we find ourselves always trapped within the the realm of "What ifs".... Even though we must suffer the realities that there was nothing we could do. We torment ourselves, sealing our minds away with feelings from the past. "If I had only stopped her from leaving" "If I had only killed him back then" "If only there was some way I could find out what was really going on." "If only I could rid the world of all its evil...." A pure wish becomes an absolute sin. But this time, I'm gonna make a difference. Tell me, you silly Human... If you could change the world as you know it, would you find the resolve it takes to act? Come along now.... We have a lot of work to do. ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~ ~~Rules of The Death Note~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~ 1) The human whose name is written in this note shall die. 2) This note will not take effect unless the writer has the subject's face in their mind when writing his/her name. Therefore, people sharing the same name will not be affected. 3) If the cause of death is written within 40 seconds of writing the subject's name, it will happen. 4) If the cause of death is not specified, the subject will simply die of a heart attack. 5) After writing the cause of death, the details of the death should be written in the next 6 minutes and 40 seconds

::: The way things are structured :::
Team Leaders: Lei14 ~ Protagonists There will be two factions. Protagonist and Antagonist. In those two factions, there will be one leader/contact. ((Lei is the Contact for Protagonist, but as the thread "leader", anyone can PM her if they have a problem. =\ No matter which team you choose, Lei will do her best to help. >=O )) So, in the Role-Play, we'll depend heavily on PMing each other (( whoever's on your team )) And working on a plot. A Death Note Role play wouldn't be an easy task in the first place. >=\ Having this Pseudo "Buddy system" will actually make things much easier. Now, I just have to find someone willing to be the "antagonist" Leader. ((I have a few people in mind.... So I'll go about asking. You have to have responsibility and the obligation to answer all PM's-- No matter how bizarre Then, The A-Team and the P-Team leaders will have to talk on a regular basis as well. So we can make sure everything runs smoothly. >_<; ((So... We'll all become best friends. It sounds hard, But I believe you guys can do it, and it IS a unique style of Role-playing. This may be a cure to Lei's boredom. To sum it up-- We'll basically have two stories in one thread. The story of the Good Guys, and the story of the bad guys. They will intertwine and add the suspense that we know and love... The suspense that is "Death Note" >=3 ((side Note: From now on, when I talk about sides.... Blue = Protagonists ((Ex. L Lawliet, Matsuda)) Red = Antagonist ((ex. Light Yagami, Misa Amane)) And.... I dunno. Green for Neutral. ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* ::: Rules Of the Role Play ::: Pretty much the same as the rules for the entire forum~ quote Arcane Prophet ~~I don't want to be judgmental, but we are looking for quality entries for this role play. If you cannot come up with an entry, then please don't post what I like to call "Fillers" ((Posts that don't contribute to the plot at all. It's alright to be good humored, or post something to develop a character, but a constant use of such entries will result in a reprimanding from Lei. >=[ )) .... PM Lei, and she will help you to develop a plot/post. Don't hesitate to ask if you need help. ^_~ ~~While this Role-Play will be relatively structured, We still do not tolerate "God-Modding"-- If you have an idea for something Major, That requires another person's character ((Or any of the original main characters)) Please PM whoever is in charge of the said character. ((In the main characters case, once again, Please PM Lei. )) ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~*~* ~*~*~*~** ~*~*~*~*~* :::: Character Sheets :::: Name: Alias: ((Keep in mind that you can be killed easily with your face and name. So in the Role-play, you'll probably use your alias for your character much more often than you'll use your real name. )) Age: Side: Protagonist/ Antagonist/ Neutral Occupation: Race: Human/ Shinigami Death Note: (( Do you posses one?)) If yes, then do you also have the "Shinigami eyes"?- ((Shinigami eyes allow you to see the name and Life span of any person you looks at, so long as they don't have their face covered.)) If yes, Who is the shinigami that governs your note book?- ((Ex. Light had Ryuk, Misa has Rem.)) Appearance: Personality: Biography: Weapon: ((Since this isn't a fantasy, weapons are limited to guns/knives—And even so, You cannot bear them unless it fits your character. For example, police officers are allowed to carry guns.)) ((Fun stuff)) Quirks: Talents: Extra: whatever else you want to add

~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~
~~~Original Characters~~~ ~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~ ~~~ ::::Antagonist:::: Name: Light Yagami ((Ishilar04)) A.K.A: Kira Age: 17 Side: Antagonist Occupation: Student (eventually, he becomes part of the task force that is hunting Kira.) Death Note: Yes - Shinigami that governs his book- Ryuk Appearance: Light Height~ 5'9 Weight~ 119 pounds At the start, his appearance is innocent and that of a normal high school senior. However, as his mind becomes twisted, his features can take on a very cruel and sadistic appearance. He is usually very well dressed and groomed. Personality: Light is a very serious character. Like a majority of his foes, Light has a very high I.Q. and an amazing ability to think things through. He rarely acts rashly, and he has a knack for seeing through people. The truth is, Light barely shows his true emotions to anyone and masks himself very well. As for friends, he doesn't really have any. Whenever he gets close to someone it is so that he can use them later. He and Ryuk really are suited for each other, as they were both very bored with their worlds. As Kira, he attempts to rule it by purging the world of evil and creating a place for only pure-hearted people. He is a very ambitious person, with a large amount of pride and self-worth. This is shown when He turns down the shinigami-eyes, because they would shorten his life span by half. He feels that as the world's new God, he needs to live for as long as possible-- Even if the inability to see a persons name will come back as a hindrance later. While he believes in absolute justice, Light fails to see things from other perspectives. To Him, There is a strict guide-line for right and wrong--Therefore, anyone who opposes his belief is also wrong and "a bad person". Light is incapable of seeing the shades of gray in the world, and only sees things as black and white. Although, some of the things he does end up being hypocritical, Light is devoid of a conscious, so he is unaffected by moral dilemma. It is believed that his insanity is a result of The Death Note's influence, but one cannot be sure of this truth. While he did suffer with the fact that he had killed people in the beginning, he quickly drowned those feelings with the thought of "Becoming God." Biography: Light finds the Death Note outside of his school. Soon after, he takes it home and reads it; initially not believing a word that is written. One day, when his curiosity got the better of him, he tries it out for fun. Amazingly enough, The Notebooks power is proved to be very real. From that day on, Light has sought to cleanse the world of evil, and rule over an almost perfect world-- or at least a world where Kira is God. We follow his struggle to rise to the top, striking down all who oppose him. Weapon: The Death Note Quirks: ~Light, while appearing to be the ultimate form of a human psyche, is actually very childish and immature. He has an insatiable desire to win, and will stop at nothing to get his way. ~Despite his composed nature, like any male, he sometimes attempts to resolve things with his fist. ~Light doesn't seem to care about what others think of him, so long as he throws off any suspicion. Talents: ~Deductive reasoning ~ Acting ~Counter intelligence ~ Planning ~Thinking on his feet. ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ Name: Misa Amane Age: 20 Gender: Female Side: Antagonist (Or rather, whatever side Light is on.) Occupation: Model Death Note: Yes Shinigami eyes- Yes. The shinigami that governs her book- Rem Appearance: Misa Unusual appearance for a Japanese woman. Misa has blonde hair, and interchanging eyes between blue and amber. (It's presumed she wears colored contacts.) She's a small, bubbly girl, that seems to enjoy donning "Gothic Lolita" clothing. Personality: While she seems innocent and sweet, Misa still suffers severe emotional instability in the fact that she will do anything for Light, and cannot live in a world without him. She is a very upbeat and love-obsessed girl, to the point of annoying those around her. (Ironically, the one who's most annoyed is always Light.) Despite the fact that she comes off as a ditz who will do anything and everything for Light, she has shown a fair amount of intelligence in certain situations. She is strong willed, and tries to remain positive no matter what. Her insanity is the fact that she doesn't mind killing, and will always do it for Light's sake-- Even if it means murdering her "friends." Biography: When Misa was younger, Her Family was brutally murdered before her very eyes. During the trial, The culprit was deemed innocent due to lack of evidence. However, the Criminal was then punished by Kira. This Caused Misa to develop a fanatical obsession for Him, and she wanted to thank him no matter what. Eventually, Her drastic actions did lead her to discover that Light Yagami was in fact Kira. Weapon: Death Note Quirks: ~Despite her happy and bright personality, She often wears dark and gothic clothing ~ She believes in love at first sight, even under questionable circumstances. ~She can't bear the thought of Light being with other women, and has threatened to kill any girl that gets close to Light. Talents: Acting Modeling ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ :::Protagonists::: Name: L Lawliet ((Lei14)) Alias: Ryuuzaki~ This is what everyone refers to him as. Hideki Ryuuga~ An alias L took in order to attend Light's College. Strangely enough, this name is stolen from a popular and handsome actor-- Someone that would never be associated with L. A.K.A: Erald Coil and Danuve~ The two other top detectives of the world. It is revealed that L is actually the both of them, showing that he has taken the spot of the top 3 detectives by himself. Each persona of his has different personality traits, though. (Ex. While L only investigates what interests him, his persona of Coil charges mass amounts of money to solve a case. Those cases don't usually interest L, so he doesn't volunteer his assistance.) Age: 24 Side: Protagonist (However, just barely. L has his own brand of justice, and will use any means necessary to enforce it. ) Occupation: Detective (Only takes jobs that interest him.) Appearance: L Lawliet L **Just an example of just how deep his obsession with sweets is.** L is the same height as Light, (however, because he slouches, he often looks shorter than Light.) L is revealed to be severely underweight for someone his age, even though he constantly snacks on sweets. Disheveled and messy-- L does not fit the appearance of a "Great detective". He wears relaxed clothing, and rarely wears shoes. His hair seems as though he never combs it, and the permanent bags under his eyes give us the impression that he hardly ever sleeps. (It was commented that he was once seen sleeping in a chair, bent over in his usual sitting position.) L is almost always hunched over, rarely standing at his full height, and sits in a bizarre fashion. (Legs pulled to his chest and in a crouching position.) He will sit like this, even when in a chair or in public. Personality: L is a "weird" character. He is a genius of course, who knows how to do a variety of things. His personality is supposed to counter Light Yagami, the genius pretty boy, as L is a genius freak. L likes to play around a lot, and is very blunt. He loves sweets (especially cakes), and insists that if he does not sit the way he does, his reasoning will drop by 40%. (whether this is true, or just an excuse to justify his habits that he fabricated, has never been proven.) L seems to be sort of a loner, and trusts no one (except for Watari of course). L is also a very animated character, and his expressions are clearly visible, unless he decides not to show them. He doesn't hide his true self behind a mask,(He only hides himself from the general public, if there's a difference.) a character trait that is once again, a complete opposite of Lights. He is actually very courageous, as he even shows his face and steps outside to confront Kira-- Even though it endangers his own life. L is aware of his "flaws"-- As he has stated himself, he has an almost child-like trait of hating to lose in even the most trivial cases. This is what allows him to delve further into the case, though, as he realizes Kira shares this childlike immaturity. He is extremely suspicious of things and the people around him, and in order to ascertain the truth for himself, he uses various means to uncover the truth. Because of this, there are many times in which other people misunderstand him. People might find his methods unorthodox and cruel, while L believes he is just doing whatever it takes to solve a case. He constantly speaks his mind, and one can believe that L is L inside and out. He is blunt, never to decorate his words, unless for some good reason (testing people etc.). He is what many people should be; a total mirror image of his inside. He doesn't seem to mind his weird tendencies, and although he does have emotions, he never lets those feelings get the best of him. L has very little pride (Even though he does hate losing. If he feels that he needs to apologize, he will.) and he does not have that emotional insecurity that can cloud a persons judgment. While Light Yagami, although using his brain, lets his emotions and pride to get away from himself. Biography: He is one of the top detectives of the world, but because he has never appeared in public, his real identity has been shrouded in mystery. With the Kira case, for the first time in history, he steps out into the open. But the result of that is... Weapon: His Brain? Quirks: ~~ L is a considerably picky eater. He is never shown eating an actual meal, and prefers to eat any and every type of sweet/fruit-- Especially Cake. His beverages are either Coffee or Black Tea, in which he usually adds a mass amount of sugar cubes. ~ L dislikes socks, and never wears them. Not even when he's wearing shoes. ~It seems like he needs to replenish his sugar level in order for his mind to work. For him to be able to remain in good shape even after eating so many sweets is one of his abilities. He claims that his brain burns more calories than any other organ. ~Despite being reclusive, L has shown that he's very talented at Tennis. ~L, despite his plain albeit strange appearance, Seems to posses mass amounts of money. However, when questioned about this, he never gives a direct answer and/or dodges the question. ~L tends to hold objects very delicately, as though he's examining them very carefully. (This is probably a force of habit in his line of work, since he's not supposed to damage evidence.) Talents: ~Deductive reasoning ~Intel work ~Criminal analysis ~Noticing the unnoticeable ~Pick-pocketing (( >_>; )) ~For some reason, he has the South American martial arts of Capoeira mastered. He shows us this in a number of fights he gets himself into with Light. ((Extra)) L's Stomach ~~~ "L's right hand man--" ~~~ Name: Watari Age: Presumed to be in his 50's ~~Watari has been with L since childhood, and is the only one L trusts completely. He often speaks for L, showing up in public in his stead. Watari is often seen bringing L a constant supply of sweets, as well. He is thought to be an excellent marksman, and has proven this fact on various occasions. Watari often conceals his identity from the world, but that doesn't stop him from venturing outside in L's place. This message was edited by Lei14 on Jan 21 2008.

::::: New Characters :::::
::::Protagonist:::: Leader ~ Lei14 Name: Ayano Tokunaga ((Lei14)) Alias : Yukiko Sakurai (rarely used, since she doesn't have to worry about dying if someone writes down her current name) Real name: Hikari Endo Age: 16 ((apparently she skipped a grade of school, as she is a senior in Light's class)) Side: Protagonist Occupation: Student, waitress, volunteer. Death note: No. (However, Ayano seems to have a stronger "sixth sense" than others-- To the point where she can feel the presence of a shinigami, but not to the point of where she can hear/see them.) Appearance: *Picture Coming Soon* Even though she's of a Japanese background, her appearance is unusual in the fact that she has Blue Eyes. (She believes her biological father must be foreign) She's 5'1, and seems a bit touchy about the fact that she's not growing any taller. Aya claims that her long hair is the only thing that's feminine about her, and warns others not to underestimate her because of her appearance. Aya wears baggy clothes, and doesn't show any interest in being "cute"--She may just be shy about showing her girlish side, but in light of her personality, it's unlikely. Personality: In her daily life, Ayano is a quite, reserved, and polite student. She doesn't express her opinions freely, and comes off as a meek girl to the general public. This is revealed to be a façade, as in reality, she is quite brilliant-- even though she claims that "Just Knowing facts isn't the same as being intelligent." She possesses a keen insight, and is able to identify the true characters of the people who surround her. Even so, she exhibits the naivety of youth, in that she wants to be able to trust others very much. Surprisingly, Ayano has a very hot temper. She is usually able to put a damper on her anger before things get out of hand, but on the occasion she will let her emotions get the best of her. This emotional weakness tends to embarrass her, and she becomes flustered by her own actions--This shows that one of Ayano's biggest flaws is her impulsiveness. Though She claims that sometimes, there are tasks that only a reckless idiot can accomplish. Due to an incident in her past, She is somewhat androphobic ((Though, she's more violent towards men than she is afraid.)) Her phobia does not prevent her from talking with men, but rather, she becomes extremely nervous if they are to stand too close to her. Invading her space is a rather foolish action, as it sometimes results in a fierce outburst. Some would say Aya is more wise than intelligent, since she is well aware that there are many forms of right and wrong. She believes that no one has the right to label the world as black and white, as one man's sin is another man's virtue. Her wisdom often leads her to realize the truth before others, even if she herself does not realize this. ((she often has hunches, that unfortunately end up coming true.)) Her Mottos are~ "Never trust your eyes--They can either be your most sincere ally, or the biggest liar you know." "Never fail to question the world around you." And "Never underestimate the power of a hormonally imbalanced woman." Ayano does her best to be kind and empathetic towards others, but she often falls short of understanding them fully. (Even if she tries to start a conversation, it usually ends up in an uncomfortable silence.) All of this put together makes Ayano a socially-awkward person, so she doesn't have many friends. That added with her tendency to make odd statements/connections, and her subtle signs of autism, make Ayano a rather unusual character. Biography: A Classmate of Light Yagami's-- It's presumed that they've known each other for quite some time, and that they were in the same class during middle school. (Though, they've never really gotten past the stage of "Mere acquaintances" ) When she was a child, she was abused by her step father. Her Real father's identity remains unknown, as her abandoned Aya's mother during pregnancy. After Aya's Mother found out what was going on, she left her husband and took Aya with her to Tokyo. Back then, she was still "Hikari Endo", but had to change her name as a precaution, should "that man" ever decide to try and find them. ((So to anyone who doesn't know her from beforehand, they believe her name is really "Ayano")) In Tokyo, Her Mother struggled to support the both of them, leaving Aya with a guilt that still haunts her to this day. While it was hard to get by, Aya was still happy to be able to live her life without the fear of being harmed. However, it wasn't long before another tragedy had taken hold of Aya's life. This left Ayano alone in the world, and questioning "What had she done to make God angry with her?"--At thirteen, she was adopted by a kindly police officer (Akio Tokunaga) at the age of 13. He had felt sympathy for the girl, and even though he had yet to start a family of his own, he still decided to accept her. She refers to him as "konomashii-Father" ((Which basically means nice, acceptable father)) as opposed to "Step-Father". She does her best to be a "Good Daughter" for him, and takes care of the cooking and cleaning of their apartment. Recently, He was transferred to a police-station in Okinawa, but Ayano stayed behind so she could finish school. (So currently, she lives alone) In order to make things easier for him, she has a part time job, despite her already stressful schedule. She brushes it off, saying that if she doesn't keep busy, she'd go out of her mind. Because her Father is a policeman, she greatly admires and respects the police force. Aya, like Light, has helped the police force out with a few cases before. Though her level of her inductive reasoning isn't on level with Light's-- so she often resigns herself to filing papers or drafting documents. ((Still, this indirectly gives her access to information that the public does not receive.)) She is also planning to attend a college in Tokyo, as opposed to Okinawa. (Though, she hasn't given it any other thought since then. So she's yet to pick a school in which she will attend. ) Quirks: ~Despite being intelligent, she doesn't apply herself in school. (Though, others dislike her for the fact that she makes good grades without even trying) ~ While she has excellent eye hand coordination, the same does not apply to her legs. ((In short, she can trip over anything and everything . Even if there was nothing in her walking path.)) ~Ayano has poor circulation, so she gets cold easily. It is for this reason that she abhors any form of cold weather and/or Chilled foods. ~If Ayano is displeased by an action, she will normally say "Ah, so you're THAT kind of guy . " And this is usually followed by an insult or a heated glare. ~If she is interested in a subject or a turn of events, she will label it as "Bizarre" ~Even though she's supposed to be a modern teenager, Aya is at a loss when it comes to technology. She doesn't have a cell phone or a home computer, but she manages to stay "Up-to-date" via the television and newspapers. ~She's upset that she has more flaws than good things about her. Talents: ~Photographic Memory ~ Deciphering Code ~Cooking ~ Poetry ((She's actually a well-known poet, under the name of 'Hikari E')) ((Extra)) Ayano's ever-changing list of things that make her angry: ~Perverts ~Men in general ~People who believe in "Love at first sight" (Misa) ~People who choose to be ignorant. ~Being teased (even if it's playful teasing) ~Telemarketers ~Men in hats ~Minoru Akaike ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ Name: Kage Akamatsou ((Zero_is_just_cool)) Real Name: Oliver Hitoshi Possible Alias: Gerry Zabazou / The Warlock Age: 17 Side: Protagonist Occupation: Student, Tutor, "Detective trainee" Race: Human Death Note: No. Appearance: Has messy brownish blond hair, apparently only because of recessive genes. Other than that has clear Nipponese ancestry. He stands 178 centimeters high and has medium build with toned muscles. He likes to wear his own style, be it casual or black tie. Mostly wears black clothes under red or wine colored ones (and sometimes jeans, too). Personality: Kage has a Zen attitude and polite behavior. While he is very friendly and sometimes talkative Kage is very respectful and reserved about certain matters such as personal life, his and others'. His eccentric way and clothes can make him stand out on a crowd, especially if you are not looking for him. He is very intelligent, and would probably have one of the highest I.Q. ratings in the country (among students) if he agreed on taking the test. In situations of excitement, his behavior changes quite drastically. He becomes fairly aggressive and quick to act. Still, that does not mean at all he will act purely on impulse and every move will still be carefully measured. Kage thinks things through and keeps himself ahead of everybody else all the time, but prefers not to plan too ahead of himself. He bases such preference in his own unpredictability, as "no matter how perfect a play can be, sometimes the winds will blow the pieces". The less turns it takes, the likely to have a piece blown by the wind. He also works constantly with the idea of "cause/consequence" and will always take his time evaluating the outcome of a certain action. When is time to act, however, he is fast and does not hesitate. His actions are carefully planned, but always have instant effect. He is emotionally strong and is very unlikely to lose his mind or act foolishly. Kage can't be at all bothered by any kind of behavior and is never upset or angry. He claims that the only time someone ever got the best of him was in the age of 11. Kage is very intuitive and skillful, but has problems identifying other people's thoughts and emotions without analyzing them logically. While it might not seem like it, he lets his emotions interfere in his judgment more then he would wish to. As such he might exaggerate when attempting to counter that flaw. Kage is aware that there is no definitive view of what is wrong or what is right but has pretty solid ideals and beliefs. That said, he may not always act according to the law, if the situation needs such actions. Biography: Attends to the same school as Light (although they never managed to have an acquaintance). Born Oliver Hitoshi (name given by his father, Take Hitoshi, who passed away) was renamed after his grandfather. His mother, Kaede Akamatsou, then moved to Yokohama to start life anew. Kage maintained a good performance in school, being an well-educated and very polite kid, although he would often sleep during classes and seldom studied at home. At the age of 11, his teacher managed to make the entire classroom mock him about how he never paid attention to classes and always seemed to be lost in his thoughts. In response he spoke for about 5 minutes, without using bad language at all. As a result, three kids left the school, the teacher was fired, the school sued, and he was invited to leave the school by the principal. It was the only time he ever lost it and did something without evaluating the consequences. After a little while Kage decided to move to Tokyo and live with his cousin Heero to finish his studies. Heero is a detective workaholic, so Kage had to handle things pretty much on his own since then. Kage has shown interest in his cousin's line of work and has become somewhat a trainee, sometimes to the point of accompanying him to meetings at the police station. Kage refuses, however, to help in any police case, claiming both that he would be of no help and that his cousin does not need his help (basically he sticks around and observes). Heero, however, has acknowledged several times that Kage will make an excellent detective, and is constantly trying to get him more involved actively with his work. Kage also tutors a couple of kids two days every week. Quirks: -His body reacts negatively to caffeine (He cannot drink coffee or soft drinks). Ingesting caffeine to a small degree makes him hyperactive. Larger amounts of it will result in something similar to severe Panic Attacks. -Owns about thirty wine-colored blazers, and is always wearing one, even during his sleep. -Has two phone numbers. One which he keeps off all the time due the ridiculous amount of people who calls him, and only uses to make calls. The other number he only gives to people who he actually wishes to get calls from and always makes sure the person knows that number is not to be given without his knowledge. -Considers himself "clearly unpredictable", and will proudly prove it to anyone curious about it, give time. -Likes to play pranks on the telephone, claiming to be "The Warlock". -Has a videogame addiction. -Sometimes plays dating simulators, but does it with complete and absolute secrecy. Talents: Negotiation Counter Intelligence High Perception Cleaning Many Great Contacts Kage Akamatsou Best Game Series Ever: Biohazard Kingdom Hearts Golden Sun Final Fantasy Guitar Hero The Legend of Zelda Fire Emblem Disgaea Broken Sword Monkey Island ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ Name: William Edward Griffiths ((Tiger of Wu)) Alias: He has many, his most common are Charles Smith, Jeremy Peterstone and Liam Jones. His codename for police operations is Weg. Age: 28 Side: Protagonist Occupation: Traveller Race: Human Death Note: No, No and No Appearance: Weg is half English and half Indian, giving him a light brown skin colour. He usually wears any form of hat on his head, covering a scar which he received when he was ten years old. The hat he wears depends on the rest of his clothes, but can be anything from a Cap to a Trilby. He usually dresses smart/casual (That mostly consisting of dark jeans and some form of shirt). He is 6'3, has an average body build and short but clean stubble. Personality: Weg is usually very quiet unless if he has something important to say. He is a very deep and philosophical person but never speaks about it unless asked. He always keeps his emotions held down and is always calm, in control at all times. Weg can unintentionally sometimes act as though he is better than others, which makes some people dislike him, but he doesn't care. He always thinks before acting, is very independent and even when working with a team he may do things alone if he thinks necessary. Some would say he is cynical, he just says that he can see the world for what it is. When alone he likes to listen to classical music and he carries with him several doses of a designer government drug, which he stole the recipe for, which is like caffeine but it isn't addictive. Biography: When Willian Edward Griffiths was ten years old he was happy, loving, intelligent and very mature for his age. He would always be able to put a smile on the face of anyone who was said and loved to help people. He lived with his parents, his father an English lawyer and his mother an Indian house wife... until one night he heard loud screams as he tried to sleep. He crept downstairs to see what was going on and saw his parents sitting in their living room, sitting in a puddle of their own blood. A man was standing in front of them, his back to William, holding a knife. Both he and the weapon were covered in blood. Two Indian swords were mounted on a plaque nearby, a gift to the family from his mothers uncle, supposedly to bring good luck. The swords were for decorative and ceremonial purposes, so they weren't very sharp, but could still do some damage. William grabbed one of the swords and charged at the man. Hearing this the murderer turned around and received a sword through his chest. He tried to get William slashing the blade wildly and caught him on the head before falling over, dead. The cut wasn't deep enough to do any major damage, but deep enough to leave a lifetime scar. He grabbed the knife and hid it away, thinking that if the police saw two weapons they would be suspicious of him. After the police had came they took William to the station. Luckily for William a man who worked for the FBI came and took him away. Later William would learn this man didn't work for the FBI... he worked for a man named Watari. After gathering up some of his stuff (including the knife he had hidden) he was taken to Wammy's house, an orphanage for the gifted, and met Watari. He was told that the killer of his parents was an angered Yakuza member, probably taking revenge after Williams father successfully got one of the head Yakuza sent to prison. William was told that the best way for him to exact revenge was to become a detective and make sure all the 'bad guys' would be sent to prison. Watari offered to help train William as an investigator and William accepted. Taking the codename J he worked and trained along with another gifted orphan of the codename K. Unfortunately William was too hotheaded and impulsive to become a great detective and when he was seventeen had a big argument with Watari because K was chosen to help with a case about a serial murderer while he was left to study. After making up with Watari, William understood he wasn't good enough to be a detective for Watari and left Wammy's house, leaving it's future in the hands of three promising children, L, Mello and Near. William started using different names in the hope that he wouldn't be tracked by Watari or the Yakuza. For seven years of his life Watari kept William safe but now he was on his own and needed to be cautious. He travelled the world in search of wisdom, learning many different things from many different people. Over the course of ten years his personality changed drastically. Instead of being rash and impulsive he was cool and calm. Unfortunately when he spoke to Watari about going back to Wammy's house he was turned down because they wished to focus all of their attention on L, Mello and Near. At that moment William knew that when he left Wammy's house he left the title of J with it. He still kept in contact with Watari but not as often as he might have hoped. He still understood why this was and didn't blame him. William now travels the world searching for enlightenment and trying his hardest to help put any bad person behind bars. He has aided in a few different police cases under the name of Weg. Weapon: Weg carries the knife which was used to kill his parents with him at all times. It has rubber around the handle and a golden pattern of a dragon along the blade. While spending a year in china Weg had an interest in martial arts and even though he didn't train in hand to hand combat he learnt how to use knives efficiently. He may not be a master with his knife, but knows how to handle it. Quirks:

Biography: James used to be a detective during his younger days. Even when he was just about 2 feet tall he wanted to be one. After becoming a detective when he was 20, he retired after failing to solve a case that was quite attatched to him in some way. Still, with enough experience to become a detective, he might be remembered and called upon one day. Thats what he wishes. Weapon: Death Note Talents: Can juggle. If he wasn't, he would stand at 5 foot 10 feet tall. Although his lower body has been left for dead, so to speak, his upper body makes up for it with strong muscles. His hair is a salt and pepper color, more salt than pepper due to the tremendous stress he had piled on him over the years. His eyes are a stunning blue color that shows no emotion. In fact, his face doesn't show any emotion as he seems to be emotionless. Personality: Leon seems to have no personality at all, but that's just a facade. When someone really gets to know him, he starts to open up, if only slightly. There's hardly any differences to his friendly side and his professional side. Although he has been known to crack a joke or two on occasion, he is mostly serious. Biography: Most of Leon's past has been destroyed in terms of records, on Leon's request, but he remembers much of his life without problems. Ever since he was out of high school, he had been part of the police. Through the years, he started going higher and higher through the ranks due to his high dependability, will to act, and intelligence. One day, his last day of patrol before getting an office job, he witnessed a woman about to be raped. Doing what every good cop would, he radioed in for back-up and attempted to stop the rapist. The woman escaped, but in a short gunfight between the two, the rapist was shot dead and Leon was shot in both legs. It was later learned that the shots had hit nerves vital for his legs to work and that he would be confined to a wheelchair for the rest of his life. Although this would deter any other cop, Leon persisted. He became a private detective, but that soon bored him. He started tackling bigger and bigger cases as an adviser until it became evident that he held a place in intellect close to that of Deneuve, the world's 3rd best detective. From then on out, Leon started working on cases that interested him, rather than was demanded of him. He found that it was much easier to do things this way as he had time to relax and release stress. Nearly all of Leon's immediate family (Wife, son and daughter, younger sister and brother-in-law) were killed in cold blood. The shock of this happening all at once, and after a particularly stressing case, left the detective with no voice. He became mute from that day on. His sister's son, however, survived due to being at a friend's house that night. Leon now takes care of his nephew as if he were taking care of his long lost son. Weapon: None Quirks: ~Doesn't talk. It's hard to tell whether this is because he is mute or just doesn't want to ~Is always chewing on a toothpick. The toothpicks are also the loophole behind Leon's seemingly emotionless states. Depending on how fast he goes from one toothpick to another is how some can figure out what type of mood he's in. ~Always has at least 4 rubber bands, two on each wrist. When it comes to where he needs to think extensively, he ends up toying with a rubber band. Talents: ~Deductive reasoning ~Inductive reasoning ~Quick thinker ~Hardly lets emotions come into the picture Extra: Leon's wheelchair looks almost like a typical wheelchair. Totally black, big back wheels for him to push himself and foot rests so he's not dragging his useless legs on the floor. The oddest thing about the wheelchair is that, under the seat and between the wheels, is a black box. Inside this black box is a small oven powered by a large battery. Near one of the arm rests is a small tube that leads straight into the fire that Leon uses to drop toothpicks, broken rubber bands, and notes down to burn. Due to the heat, there is usually a pocket of warm air around the wheelchair. On the arm rest is a small keyboard; with this keyboard he types out everything he needs to say. ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ Name: Rusty Ravelli ((Rust)) Alias: Orthrus (When around a very mistrusted person), Harvey McPherson (has been used most), he also has a tendency to make up alias' on the fly Age: 19 Side: Protagonist Occupation: Detective Leon's ward Race: Human Death Note: No, no, no Appearance: Rusty is a handsome young man who stands nearly 6 feet tall. His body is also rather filed out, both upper and lower torsos. In his ear, he wears a hardly noticeable earpiece that blends in with his skin. Personality: Most of the time Rusty is light hearted and honest, but in times of need he's composed and serious. Unlike most of the people his age, he knows when to switch between the two when necessary. He also tends to be highly charismatic, a stark opposite of the man he cares for. Biography: Rusty was a star in high school. Head of the track team and #1 in each class and in high school overall. Life seemed to be going quite well for the optimistic young man. He lived a fairly decent life and was accepted into all the top schools in America. Unfortunately, his life soon took a turn for the worst. His parents were soon murdered, leaving without a home to return to. His uncle, Leon Mancini, took him in as the boy slowly became more and more reclusive to the world around him. Leon, knowing of Rusty's intellect, offered him a job helping to catch criminals. Rusty accepted in hopes of finding his family's killer one day. Ever since, he's been traveling with Leon and has regained his old composure of optimism and enthusiasm. Due to the unusually short periods of time that it takes Leon to catch these criminals, not much time has passed between graduation and the present. Weapon: A Colt .45 for use in life threatening situations only Quirks: ~Has an odd combination of ADHD and OCD that makes him interesting to watch when he starts contradicting himself. ~Tends to be fascinated by fire ~Always seems to be listening to some form of music. What he listens to changes on a daily basis ~Has a weakness for women, but not to the point where it would threaten his job, himself, or Leon Talents: ~Great people skills ~Quick thinker ~Amazing mind ~One hell of a video game player Extra: In one ear, Rusty has an earpiece; in the other, he has an iPod. While the second one isn't important, the first is. The earpiece is hooked up by a secure radio line to Leon's keyboard. While Leon types, the programming sends a signal to the earpiece which then starts saying the words that are being typed. It helps to keep conversations quiet as well as quick and efficient. ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ Name: Z Alias: Shawn,X,Seth,Erik Age:21 Side:Protagonist Occupation:Unemployed/Theif Race: Human Death Note: No Appearance: Close cropped red hair and blue eyes. Her skin is pale, and if she's out in the sun for awhile she'll get a small tan. She usually has her hair sloppily tied in a green hair tie. Chieko stands at 5'5. Personality: She's one of those characters that blossoms throughout a show or book. At first, she's quiet and reserved, preferring not to talk to anybody. Once the story progresses, though, she'll become more social and outspoken, and gain more of a "personality" to her personality. Biography: Never really having a firm place of residence, Chieko and her family have always moved around Japan, ever since Chieko had turned five. Shinigami eyes: None Shinigami: Yum Appearance: Standing at 4'11 and weighing slightly more than a 100 pounds, Mohinder is a withered dwarf of a man whose build bears more semblance to a skeleton rather than a human. He is a full-blooded indian, giving him ebony skin. Age has reduced his hair to nothing more than a white rim around his hair. He usually wears a blue or black shirt underneath a white blazer with matching trousers. Personality: Mohinder is cheery and highly amicable, a classic example of the approachable grandfather figure. However, his veneer of friendliness is nothing more than a facade; a shallow, emotionless pretense that masks a personality immersed in analytical, sanguinary intelligence. Incomprehensibly twisted and much learned in philosophy, Mohinder believes that ideals and opinions are worthless; as they are nothing more than another facet of humanity's great lie. He believes that justice is nothing more than a ludicrous fantasy spawned from the delusions of civilization. The notion of justice is but a governing authority's enforcement their definition of right and wrong. Morality is meaningless and hampers the machinations of logic. Evil, to him, is a driving force of the greatness. When coupled with a firm intellect, it allows one to kill, maim, rob, torment and manipulate without even a flicker of crippling remorse. It breeds corruption, engenders greed and cultivates the essence of survival. Innocence is interchangeable with ignorance, if not non-existent, and conscience is a self-inflicted burden by fools. Despite his views, Mohinder has a great love for animals. His one, true passion lies in his pets, and he is only sincere in his regard. Nevertheless, that doesn't stop him from occasionally killing one or two for the fun of it. Quirks: ~ Mohinder does not have a cellphone or internet. ~ Mohinder is obsessed with zoo tycoon, and he derives pleasure in feeding his zoo guests to the saltwater crocodiles. Ever since the dinosaur and marine expansion set, he has changed his executioners of the 'unworthy pixel-challenged scum' to the T-rex and great white shark. ~ Mohinder is an author of two philosophy books 'Devil's heart' and 'The Satan effect' under the alias of 'V Kupo'. neither have yet to become a New York Times Best seller. ~ Mohinder has more than 25 breeds of shrimp in his pet collection. ~ Unlike Kira, Mohinder targets the unproductive, the mentally inhibited and the dregs of society, as well as those who actively threatens nature. She has bright blue eyes, but she also covers up those with colored contacts, turning her eyes bright red and yellow, and cat-like, scaring off most people. While her face is also a bit pale -though not extremely, she just doesn't get much sunlight- it doesn't really have any unique features, though she is of course easily recognized as a foreigner. She is roughly 5'4 tall and of a skinny build. She always wears black or gothic clothing, though not in the 'popular' hyped kind of way Misa Amane does. As opposed to Misa Amane, she doesn't have a cute, cheerful exterior, but a quite serious and rather sad look. Though she does wear pink tights and or underwear on occasion, making her immediately much more feminine than demonic. Despite her 'evil' appearance, Yuki always walks around with her Eyore-plushie in a hand, regardless of where she goes. It is a strange sight for any other people, and it makes even more of them stay away from. She usually holds the donkey by an ear, but always makes sure nothing bad happens to it. The rest of the Winnie the Pooh gang are present in her room, sitting or lying on her bed, awaiting her return every night. Personality: She is quite the quiet girl, especially around groups. While she can have a good conversation one-on-one, or possibly in a small group of friends, she prefers to keep silent and listen. In groups she can't even think of anything to say, although she may vehemently defend her position if someone attacks it. Though this is far from often, given her open-mindedness, she does not easily feel attacked. Yuki is also a rather lazy person. While she has a death note, she barely uses it, only when she finds it necessary. Though when she does, her murders are always very elaborate schemes taking days to unfold, though she's never done one that took the full twenty three days. Her murders are never heart attacks, since she likes to be creative. She is very independent, and somewhat of a rebel. If someone tries to impose an opinion on her, she'll more often than not pick the other side, if only to annoy the other person. On top of that, she no longer has a worldly sense of right and wrong, and sees death as the conclusion of life. She has no problems killing any person, as their time must be up sometime, it's ridiculous to try and fight off the inevitable. Thus she is absolutely not afraid to die either and would even welcome the chance to end this pointless existence, but in spite of that she is not suicidal and remains among the living until someone bests her or she is randomly struck down by nature, or a shinigami. And finally, Yuki takes things the way they come, not worrying too much about the specific outcome of things, even if they are potentially dangerous to her. She's not much of a planner, and thus manages to surprise people by her improvisations in critical situations. One of the consequences of this is that she hides secrets in plain sight of others, because hiding them away would require planning. Biography: Kyllikki was born in Finland, Europe, just over 19 years ago. She lived peacefully until after her seventeenth birthday when her parents died in a plane crash, a plane she should've been on, but wasn't because the father of her best friend had had a heart attack and died. She was taken in by her rich uncle, the man seemed to neglect her mostly however, and had only taken her in because of his political interests. In the days that followed, she found a note, inscribed upon it the text 'Death Note'. She didn't believe the notebook at first of course and put it aside as a good joke. But when the shinigami Noa appeared besides her, she had no choice but to admit it was real. Her first victim was her rich uncle, after a quickly debilitating disease that raged through the man for a little over two weeks, he finally succumbed in his sleep. Kyllikki inherited everything. After a test or two more over the course of the next year, Kyllikki made plans to move to Japan, where the Kira case had just begun. No-one had yet suspected someone was behind it, though they would soon realize it. It was just a huge number of bizarre heart attacks then, but Kyllikki had known better from the start. So she donned the alias Yuki Kurosawa and using her acquired fortune, she made plans to move to Japan, she wanted to be in the middle of it, so that she could make things more interesting. After all, taking out the right person at the right time in a random accident could make all the difference in the world. Weapon: A pen. The pen is mightier than the sword. While that is true in its own right, it's nothing compared to a pen combined with a death note. Minoru Akaike 2. Matsu Hirayama 3. Ray Asuko Age: 17 Side: All of them (explained later) Occupation: Student at Light's school Race: Human Death Note: Yes. Shinigami Eyes: Yes Shinigami: Xias Biography: Andrew's parents were Japanese citizens who moved to America a year before his birth. They became American citizens and intended to remain there for the rest of their lives. Andrew was born and given an "American" name. Up until Andrew's second birthday, the family was happy. Andrew's father, however, during Andrew's second year of age, suffered a heart attack and died. The family plummeted into debt. Andrew's mother remarried the ringleader of a traveling circus. The step-father was quite nice to Andrew and taught him how to eat fire and juggle knives and the like. Andrew was allowed to perform along with the circus. Things went well into Andrew turned 6. The family was financially stable once again and Andrew's mother decided it was time to leave the circus. Andrew begged to stay, but even the other circus performers didn't want him along. Andrew didn't want it to end and, like a child, threw a tantrum and ran away. He came across a black notebook on the ground. A Death Note. Andrew met the Shinigami Xias. The sight of a monster terrified the child and left him traumatized. Traumatized, Andrew developed amnesia and upon awaking, found the entire circus crew and his mother slaughtered. Xias informed Andrew that a person with a Death Note had killed them. After that, Andrew began to develop multiple personalities as he grew to understand the powers of his own Death Note. After his mother's death and the death of the entire circus crew, Andrew was taken into an orphanage where Andrew keened his intellect night and day, intent on finding the owner of the Deathnote that destroyed his life. As he grew, Andrew came to also suspect a Death Note role in the earlier death of his father as well as that of his mother. As a result, Andrew has vowed to kill all owners of a Death Note as well as any Shinigami he can, though he accepts that he cannot will a Shinigami to die, especially since it is immensely difficult to see them without having touched their Death Notes. Upon hearing of Kira, Andrew moved to Japan and began investigating his first target and in order to track down holders of Death Notes more easily, he has traded Xias for Shinigami Eyes, believing himself capable of eliminating holders of Death Notes and the notebooks of death themselves before his time is up. By this time, the personalities in Andrew have fully developed. All three personalities took on three different aliases. The Andrew that hunts the Death Note holders calls himself Minoru Akaike. The second personality, is completely insane and kills for the hell of it is Matsu Hirayama. Matsu is intrigued by Kira, the first owner of a Death Note Andrew has encountered, and wishes to test which of them is "stronger" although smarter would be the better word for it. The third and final personality is one that strives for a divine justice similar to Light's. He wishes to meet with Kira so as to make a combined effort and cleanse the world. He calls himself Ray Asuko. Three personalities. One body. One target: Light Yagami. And they will do anything to attain their goals. One thing to note is that none of Andrew's personalities are aware the others exist. Thus when one personality takes over, it has no idea what the other personalities have been doing as Andrew. Minoru could be considered a protagonist as he will work to find Kira and kill him. Matsu is neutral: He just wants to kill indiscriminately, siding with neither force Ray is an antagonist who will throw in his lot with Kira. Personality: It depends on which personality is in control. Minoru: Minoru is shy around girls and has trouble conversing with them as a result. He will respond if spoken to, but other than that, Minoru keeps to himself most of the time, preferring to observe events. Matsu: If Minoru is white, Matsu is black. Matsu is very loud and boisterous and really doesn't care what people think of him and thus has no trouble talking with women (and hitting on them as well.) When in control, Matsu is very perverted and has no reservations about checking out a girl's "situation" as he calls it. Matsu has no reservations about killing and does it frequently when in control. Ray: Ray is a "normal" person in that he is neither loud like Matsu nor reclusive like Minoru. He is the "inbetween" and possesses a charming smile and wit, making him popular with his classmates. Very social, but not to the point of Matsu's boisterous attitude. Traits shared by all three: A keen intellect, very high observational skills, a desire to find Kira, and a strong dislike of chocolate Appearance: Andrew is tall and lithe, standing a grand 6' and as thin as a toothpick. Not to say Andrew doesn't eat. He eats constantly whenever he can, but his metabolism reflects his height in that it is also extremely high. A mess of black hair covers dark green eyes. Minoru dresses casually, much like L, but not as extraordinary. He wears shoes for starters as well as a pair of jeans and a plain shirt that is usually rumpled. Matsu dresses in something one would expect to see in a movie: A pair of black boots and pants, a shirt that is never buttoned and a trenchcoat that is likewise never buttoned. He and Minoru seldomly comb their hair and often go to school with it looking however it did when they woke up. Ray typically dons a suit and tie on school days and comes to school with his hair neatly combed. On free days, he wears Matsu's outfit, although the shirt and coat are buttoned. Weapon: Knives. Andrew has knives literally stuffed in every conceivable location on his person. However, the only time the knives can be found on his person is when Matsu is in control. There are 3 up his sleeves, one in the back of either boot, and four inside the overcoat. Matsu has deadly accuracy with these knives and is very acrobatic in the way he wields them. However, even Matsu will not carry arms into school and thus only has them with him while investigating Kira. Quirks: -Andrew and his personalities all do not like coffee or tea nor any type of soda. As an energy source, Andrew consumes mass amounts of cookies. -Despite Ray possessing some form of wit and charm, all three personalities are utter idiots when it comes to women and expressing themselves and have no idea how to act on dates. Hence why Andrew has never has a girlfriend. -One of the rare occassions Minoru speaks up is when he drives. Of the three personalities, Minoru is the only one with road rage and he will not hesitate to shout at people, give rude gestures, and the like. Talents: -Observation and seeing what others don't -Acting - (Matsu only) Torture -Espionage -Manipulating others -Fluent in 24 different languages -The All Seeing Eye: A talent developed from Andrew's keen eyesight and observational skill. It allows him to discover any girl's measurements merely by looking at them. ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~*~ ~~*~*~*~ ::NPC's:: These characters may be used by everybody. OOC: Whooo.
I've decided to take a turn from my usual "OMFGLONGFRIKIN'POST!!" approach. ((Those who know Lei, and her insanity when it comes to posting, will breathe a sigh of relief. This is because of the number of people willing to play original characters. XD ((I'm eternally indebted to Ishilar for volunteering to play Light. Just . Consider it a chance to channel all of the evil energy in you into something constructive. People like Matsuda, Misa, Mikami, Mello (so on and so forth. XD Too many "M"s Lei is also doing this, because the way things are, She's also in charge of L, Matsuda, Sochiro, Aizawa, and Mogi. *COUGH* . Yes. That's how it will be. XP ((Note: Lei actually didn't plan it that way. Now, I guess this make Ish the leader of the antagonists . Yay, evil. XP ANYWAY. Listen up, okay? Lei has further instructions on how this RP will be structured. For starters, This is a Role-Play that will be split up into chapters. Lei has done mathematical calculations for each chapter. ((OMG, NO WAI. So, at the beginning of each chapter, she'll state how many posts/pages will go into it. ((This also means we'll have to take turns, or something. X_X)) I have a feeling it will be easy once we get started. For the first chapter, WE WILL ALL POST ONCE. This post will be your introductory entry, That introduces your character and shows their view of the world. Time line: This takes place around the time where people first began to realize that "someone" was killing all the bad guys with heart attacks. Afterwords, once everyone has gotten an entry in, Chapter two will start. Chapter two is basically the chapter where everything gets started, and people begin to join up together. ((The reason why Lei chose chapters? Anyone who has read/watched Death Note, will know about the notorious time-jumps. XD This will make it easier to keep track of time jumps. =3 Plus It looks really, really cool. Cough. She'll post shortly. -------------------

Chapter one: "Sin" Do you know what your sin is? It isn't because you ate the forbidden fruit. Do you know what your sin is? It isn't because you listened to the serpent. You still don't know what is your sin? Then, that itself is your sin. ~~Hikari E. I'm sick of this world... I want to change it. ~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~* How did it end up like this? The gun was pointed at his head. All she had to do was pull the trigger . Once you pull the trigger, the nightmare will be over. How did it end up like this? The gun was pointed at his head, And there was no way to escape the bullet. Once you pull the trigger, the person will be dead. How...? Let's rewrite. ~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~ ~*~*~*~* What a boring world. Ayano Tokunaga sighed, sliding down into her desk as the teachers monotonous droning continued. She thumbed at an eraser, before casually placing it on the edge of her desk. The sixteen year old glared at the shock-pink utensil, before picking it up again and placing it to the far left of the very same desk. This was an action she would repeat several times, until she finally resigned herself to placing it at a 60 degree angle above her pencil case. The dull buzzing continued, and for some reason She was getting angry. Perhaps it was because she was at the tender age where she was supposed to be finding a purpose in life, or perhaps it was because she already knew everything the teacher was mumbling about . But Ayano couldn't stand it. Day after day, she played miss goodie-two-shoes, without anyone so much as questioning her fascia. It was the norm that was expected of every good boy and girl. A norm that was driving her to the brink of insanity. She grimaced distastefully. If that was the case, then her displeasure and boredom meant that she must be a bad child. Be polite to your teachers, shuffle in and out of class, and answer the questions mechanically . These were the realities of an everyday high school student. She bowed down in her seat, so that her chin was now resting on that dreadful desk. The same one she'd had since the beginning of her journey into tedium. It was beginning to feel more like a rope around her neck, rather than a table used to write down a few petty little notes. Nobody noticed this action, as Aya slumped further, now resting her entire head on this thing that bonded her to the life of a student. Nobody noticed, because they were all too busy trying to be "Good Children" as well. But she wanted to be a good child. Even though it bored her to no end, she had no choice but to be a good child. Not for her sake, but for the sake of her savior For the sake of Konomashii-Father. If he was working hard, then she would double her efforts to remain sane-- Even if it meant listening to the teacher in a déjà vu-like trance. Aya straightened herself, raising her head from her binding fate, and sitting properly once more. Yes, she knew it already Everything the teacher was saying. This was the sin that was so innocently dubbed as "Review." But just as she had resigned herself to becoming a good child once more, an annoyance rang through her ears. The dismissal bell. She blinked, not registering what the metallic ring was at first. Then, it became all too familiar, as the exited chatter of freed prisoners resounded throughout the room. They gathered their belongings and fled, without so much as a glance back at their cells. Aya exhaled noisily, before sweeping all of her belongings into her school bag with one fluid motion. She swung her pack over her left shoulder, and abruptly stood from her studently-confines. At that moment, a certain someone had caught her eye. He sat only one seat in front of her It had been that way for all of high school. This person, Light Yagami. Normally he would have packed up his belongings, said his goodbyes, and have been on his way. Today, however, he was staring off into space with a look that was almost devoid of any life. Aya normally kept to herself, but she couldn't help but worrying. Light Yagami, the student prodigy and wonder-boy of the year Had he finally cracked under all the expectations that were placed on him? It had been this way for well over a week, and the girl wondered why no one else had noticed the change in his demeanor. Popular and smart, he was the type that everyone paid attention to. She was jealous. Yet, at the same time, she recalled various stories of suicide that had circulated around the school-- It always seemed to be the same story, with a different name or gender. "They just couldn't stand the pressure, and they had a breakdown." She hesitated, stopping herself from waltzing out of the "prison" as everyone else had. What the hell was she doing? Sure, she and Yagami had spoken on a few occasions She had even been over to his house once, but that was only because their Fathers had been friends. It was none of her business. Just turn around and walk, Aya. ~~"Y Yagami? The Bell already rang. " ..Damn it. Well, there was no avoiding a conversation now. Since her impulsive tongue had slipped, she might as well ask away. Still, The way he looked at her upon hearing her voice It was abnormal. No normal person would look at a fellow human being in such a way. He paused, and a smile flitted across his face. The bitter glare was gone, and replaced with a mild kindness. It was so fake. Still, she shook away her uneasiness, and returned an apprehensive smile. Lately it felt as though there were two Yagami's . No. There were three. Yes, she had been ignoring it to the best of her ability, but . Whenever Yagami was around, it felt like there was some unseen person in the room. Always beside him, Aya admitted that a reason she had been avoiding him was because of that very same presence. Surely, her mind must be playing tricks on her. She wouldn't let such a foolish notion get in the way of helping a struggling person. College exams were coming up While she hadn't really given it any thought, Light was definitely the type who would take it seriously. So, she would understand if he was feeling rundown by the constant work supply. Well That's what she was trying to convince herself of, anyways. What was it that was bothering her so much? It was teasing her, almost . 'Try to guess what we are~!' It would say, in an obnoxiously mocking tone. Light: Ah, thank you. I must have drifted off for awhile. ~~"W-Well, I suppose that happens to everyone once in awhile. (mind you, I do it almost everyday.) Ah, but don't push yourself to hard! College exams are stressful, and can totally abduct a persons mind-- So just do your best~! I'll wish you luck~!" Light: ...Hm. Is that so? Well Sometimes the thought of the future preoccupies my mind, more so than anything else. I'm looking forward to how everything turns out. Don't you start slacking off, either. See you tomorrow, Tokunaga. Aya shuddered, and hoped that he hadn't noticed as her brushed past her. The way he had worded his response seemed strange and cryptic to her. Was she questioning his statement because of that peculiar presence? Or had she already begun to suspect that something major would be happening in the future? .Now she was beginning to confuse herself. It's best to just forget about it for today, she decided. I'm sick of this world She mused to herself, while playing with a stray strand of hair. She was just a mere human But it would be nice if she could do something to change it. There was just too much that was wrong with today's society. Why was it that people intentionally tried to hurt others? It was a damned stupid game that would never have a winner. Such cruel games seemed to deprive Life of any meaning. With finality, Aya flicked the strand of hair from her face, and gazed around the class. Just as always, she was alone. I want to change the world.

Matsu stared at the giant menace before him. The menace known as school. The monolith stared back at him, impassive.
"Feh. School pisses me off," Matsu said under his breath. But he would have to register here because his education had never been completed in America. Sure, he could drop out, but where was the fun in that? "School's a nice place to pick up some women, though. No denying that," Matsu continued to speak to himself as he entered the building of education. But in truth, Matsu was not speaking to himself, though anyone seeing him would never know. A bizarre creature stood behind Matsu. "You going to kill anyone today, Matsu?" the Shinigami asked. "Maybe later. I have to go...register." Matsu spat the last word out as though it were the chocolate he so despised and entered the school. Names swirled around him. Names and numbers. That was what the world was to him. People, their faces, their personality...none of that mattered because in the end, they were all nothing more than seas and seas of names and numbers. Names and numbers. Easily disposed of. Easily replaced. So what was it to Matsu if he killed them? Nothing at all. That was just it. They were nothing at all. Just names and numbers. "Do you know where the administrative office might be?" Xias asked as the two wandered the rapidly emptying hallways. "...No." "Then ask that girl over there?" Xias pointed out a girl with long hair and deep, blue eyes. "Uncommon for one of Japanese descent." Matsu thought, making note of the girl's name. Could she be Kira? Kira. Just the thought made Matsu's blood boil in anticipation. Kira must possess a Death Note. Did he have the Shinigami Eyes? Was he like him? Was he better than Matsu? It didn't matter. "I'll prove I am the ultimate by killing him." Matsu thought, as he pasted a smile to his face as he approached the girl. "Excuse me. Where might I find the director's office?" he asked. The girl whirled around, seeming surprised to find Matsu behind her. "Ah...down this hallway, to the left..." the girl pointed. "Thank you...uh..." "Ayano. Ayano Tokunaga." "Ayano Togunaga, then. Thank you for your assistance. I am new here and will be starting soon. I've come to take a tour. Perhaps we will see each other again, yes?" Matsu strode past Ayano, and then stopped and looked over his shoulder, his eyes had sharpened and seemed to gleam. "By the way. Nice butt." Matsu turned and resumed his walk only to have a book collide with the back of his head. "Pervert!" Ayano called after him. Matsu whipped around, his eyes became daggers as he glared at Ayano. Sinister. Insanity. Who could say what burned in Matsu's eyes just then? Only Ayano. "Miss Tokunaga...you appear to have dropped your book..." Matsu handed the girl back her text book. Math, it looked like. He walked away without another word, ignoring the girl's shouts following his back. "Xias...make note of her. I'm going to kill her first." Matsu said. The shinigami only grinned and followed after the owner of his Death Note." Matsu kicked the door to the principal's room open. A woman sat behind a desk jerked her head up as Matsu entered. "Y-yes?" she asked, plainly perturbed by the fact that the door to the office was just barely hanging by its hinges. "I have an appointment. Matsu Hirayama. I'm the new student from America. So, lady, where the hell's the principal?" "Young man, I don't know what sort of school you went to in America, but such language is not tolerated here at this school! When you return tomorrow, you'll be expected to come with a civil tongue! Now, the principal is reprimanding a student and will be with you shortly. Please take a seat." "She's annoying. I've changed my mind. I'll kill her first." Matsu thought, insanity blazing brightly in his emerald eyes. "...Matsu always changes his mind at least five times about who he'll kill before he actually does it. He's so amusing," Xias thought. The stupid grin seemed permanently plastered onto his face. Matsu took in his surroundings. Or rather, he took in the names and numbers around him. There were only four students in the room. Then the secretary, of course. All of them had a name and a number. "Well I wasn't expecting it to be this easy. Although it would be pretty funny if Kira went to this school. Funny, and disappointing. If he went here, it'd be too easy." Matsu thought, smirking to himself. Finally, the principal appeared. A balding man in possession of plenty of girth. "Hey, you're quite the fatass, Mr. Principal!" Matsu said jovially, taking the man's hand and giving it a quick shake. "Mr. Jonathon, we do not tolerate that sort of language at our school. I will see you in detention tomorrow!" "Yeah, yeah. Whatever. Let's just get on with the tour. I'm eager to see what my learning environment will be like." Matsu waited for the principal to walk into the hallway before muttering, "...fatass." The four students snickered as Matsu walked out while the secretary wrinkled her nose disapprovingly. Matsu lay in the bed of the apartment he'd rented, staring at the ceiling. He twirled a knife idly in his right hand; his left was stretched back behind his head. His blood was boiling. He was restless. He wanted to find Kira NOW. "I can't take it anymore, Xias. I need to kill someone." "The secretary?" Xias asked, "Or that girl?" "What girl?" Matsu asked. "...Nevermind." Xias said, "But the secretary will do, yes?" "Just like him. I swear he has a one-track mind..." Xias thought. "No. The Death Note doesn't bring me any pleasure. It's no fun if I don't get to see the victim's life snuffed out before my very eyes. Giving someone a heart attack or making them set themselves on fire is boring." "You may attract the attention of the police," Xias remarked. "Like I care. If they bother me, I'll kill them with the Death Note. They're nothing but names and numbers anyway. They'll be replaced. They always are." Matsu threw on his jacket and walked out of the room. Xias paused only a moment before following. "His eyes change every time he prepares to kill. They become sinister. The embers of insanity explode into an unstoppable blazing inferno. Ho ho...Matsu is always so interesting to watch. Especially when he kills." Minoru awoke to the sharp proddings of Xias. "You will be late for school if you sleep much longer," the Shinigami spoke. Minoru made no show of being in a hurry. He kicked out of his sheets and shuffled out of bed. "His attitude and demeanor have changed over night. Matsu would have just continued to sleep and Ray would have jumped right out of bed and begun to rush. Thus it can only be Minoru. Will it stay that way, I wonder? Ho ho ho..." Xias grinned. "How long have I been here, Xias?" Minoru asked, taking a plain red shirt from off the floor and pulling it over his head. "You arrived yesterday, Minoru," Xias reported. "Ah. Then I haven't been out long. I really must find some treatment for my fainting incidences," Minoru remarked absently as he tore open a bag of mini-cookies and began to peruse the newspaper. "Ah. It seems a family of seven were murdered last night, Xias. None were criminals apparently, so it wasn't Kira if the pattern I've discovered holds true. There is a possibility of it being someone else with a Death Note, though. Kira is a fool. Killing so many with heart attacks. It makes it obvious to anyone with knowledge of a Death Note that someone with a Death Note is performing the killings." "As usual, he remembers nothing of his excursions as Matsu. Ho ho...what would he do if he learned, I wonder?" "Perhaps Kira does not expect others to be in possession of a Death Note." "And that makes him all the more a fool, Xias. But I'm not complaining. It'll be easier to track him down this way." "What will you do after?" Xias asked. "...Let's go. We'll be late." OOC: OKAY! First post in the RP (of mine, anyway) and...I'm not sure. I feel like I didn't get either of my characters' personalities spot on. It's very different to the way I'm used to writing (all of my other RP characters have...you know...been sane. Anyway. For those who forgot and can't be bothered looking back at my sheet, Minoru is the personality that is very quiet and shy. He'll speak when spoken to, but that's about it. Until he develops friends... For the time being, I ask that anyone who uses my character in their post not change which personality is in control midway through their post without asking me first. I'll always make a little note at the end of my post which personality is in control to help you guys out. It may get confusing later on. x_x Right now, Minoru is in control if any of you missed that. NOW! Onward! >=D Edit: I will be doing Light's intro in my next post. Since we all know who Light is, it seemed more important that I introduce my new character rather than one we are all familiar with. OOC: Woo Death Note, my first post... I'd like to write a long OOC post aswell... but I can't think of anything to say "Excuse me, I have a table reserved under the name Charles Smith. Is it ready?" The man asked, pushing up his tie. He wore a black suit with sunglasses and a trilby upon his head. If he was going to pull this off he would have to look the part. "Oooh, Mr. Smith, your associate has already arrived and has ordered ze lobsteur for you both. Come I vill show you to ze table." The man, standing 6'3, was escorted to his table. A bold Japanese man by the alias of Feng sat opposite him, also wearing a black suit. The waiter bowed his head before leaving. "You have been working for me for no more than two months and you show your respect by showing up late... who do you think I am" Feng said, speaking down to the man opposite him. "With all due respect Mr. Feng I was right on time. You were early" The man replied, his expression not changing as he removed his hat and sunglasses. Feng looked at his watch before sighing. "It seems you are right... but just remember your place next time" He looked at the top of his associates head before grimacing. "And put your hat back on. That scar will ruin my appetite" The man put his hat back on his head before speaking. "Down to business. You want me to deliver a package to Mr. Vincinetti. It's small enough to fit into a suitcase and weighs twenty grams. Before I can deliver it I need you to tell me what it is" Feng raised his eyebrow at what was just said. "You're not an idiot Charles, you know as well as I do it's cocaine. Don't be trying to fuck about with this okay." "I apologise sir. It was just for my peace of mind" Feng laughed at this last comment before a waiter placed a bowl of soup in front of each of them. "I've got to go wash my hands before I can eat... you don't want to ask why" Feng chuckled after saying this and than went to the bathroom. Perfect. When the waiters had left and no eyes were facing him the man pulled out a vile of liquid and poured it into Fengs soup, stirring it in to make sure it was unnoticeable to the human eye. After a minute Feng returned and sat down before taking in a spoonful of his soup. He swallowed it with a screwed up face, wondering why it tasted so funny. Before he could speak his body went limp and his face thudded against the table, narrowly missing his soup. The man Feng thought to be working for him, William Edward Griffiths, put his hand into his shirt and pulled away the tape recorder attached to his chest and pulled the mini microphone from out of his shirt before speaking into it. "This is Weg. The man before you is Mr. Feng, a well known Yakuza leader. Because of legal technicalities he has kept out of prison but on this tape he admits he has at least twenty grams of cocaine. This should be enough to allow you a search warrant for his house. Here you will find a lot more class A drugs and a countless number of illegal weapons. If you let anybody know you have Mr. Feng apprehended the Yakuza will find out and clean Mr. Fengs home of anything incriminating. He lives in the first mansion east of Port Miramar. There will be a lot of security there so it would be wise to take extreme caution" He stopped the tape and placed the recorder next to Fengs head. He searched him and found a gun in his belt. All goes as planned William thought as he dialed 17, the French number for the police. "Hello, yes there is a Japanese man with a gun at the San Pierre restaurant. Someone has knocked him out but he may wake up soon so please, please send someone quickly!" Before he could hear a reply William dropped the phone into his soup and rose to his feet, putting on his sunglasses. He left fifty Euros on the table before calmly walking out of the building. Phones were expendable objects, especially one that Feng had given him, and the only phone he kept on him at all times was for emergencies with only three people knowing its number... It rung and William answered. "Hello" Even though he was concerned as to why someone would need to call him on this phone Williams voice let out no sign of that. "William, it's me" Only two people knew his name and only one of them spoke with the tone of voice this man did. The only person who William could speak freely to. "I'm sure you've heard about what's happening in Japan?" "I know some minor details... why do you ask?" William knew what was coming but still asked anyway. "Well it is certainly an interesting case, I thought you might want to help. By now you must understand the severity of the situation so I do not ask for you to make a decision right now, but there will be a plane going to Japan at the Toulon airport tomorrow. A ticket awaits you at your hotel if you do decide to come. Good bye, William" After saying that Watari hung up. William didn't have to think about it, his mind was already made up. Not only would he be helping to take down a notorious killer but he would also have a chance to work with the famous L, not to mention seeing his old teacher again. I'm coming for you He thought as he walked back to his hotel, the sound of sirens wailing behind him, Kira [color=#666666]This message was edited by Tiger of Wu on Jan 23 2008. ------------------- Death's door stays open to all without prejudice,

"What happens when you die?"
Death is the end. "I'm just going to give you my blue cell phone in the left pocket of my jacket, ok?" "What is Death?" Death is a blank. "Do you want to get it or should I do it?" "Do humans really have to die?" All things have to die. "What happened... Mister?" "Why do we have to die?" Death is inevitable. "Sir?! Are you alright?! SIR!" "Is there any way to stop death?" Death is the only thing common to all beings that live. "SIR! Hang on!" "Why do we die?" Death is inevitable "I will... I..." "Do we really have to die?" Death will come. "An ambulance! I will go get an ambulance!" "Does it makes sense? Death?" It doesn't have to. "AN AMBULANCE! SOMEBODY HELP ME, HE IS GOING TO DIE!" "It should make sense..." It doesn't. "Hey! You there! Help us!" "Then why does it exist at all?" Death is there, it has always been there. "Hey you!" "What is Death?" Death is a blank. "What the *bleep* are you doing? Help me, you faggot!" "I mean, is it a force?" That too. "Hey, you bastard! Look at me!" "Is it something else?" Sometimes. "HEY!" "I find Death very dramatic." That is because you are a fool. "Get your ass out of here and *bleep*ING GET SOMEONE!" "Why?" Death isn't dramatic. Even to me, it is nothing more than fun. "*bleep*! I will get someone. If you move from there you are a dead man!" Who are you to be so sure of that? I am Death. ====== "Shut up, you prick! If you want to live give me your *bleep*ing money!" Nice! Barely halfway home and this happens! 'Just my luck' Kage thought, before raising his arms slowly and steadily. He had been pulled into a dark, dump, smelly alley, as an equally dump and smelly man pointed a large knife at him. His hand was shaking a little and the knife seemed to shake a lot. It was yelling 'I want to gut him!' Inviting. What a charming thought! "What the hell?!" The man seemed enraged, and it was not a difficult guess to know why. Kage had left him there, talking to himself. "Do you want to *bleep*ing die?! Huh?!!!" "No sir, I don't." Kage said in apology tone. No matter how idiotic the man was, he still had a very sharp knife. Heck, the thing seemed filled with bloodlust! Kage hoped that the man would keep it in the same place he kept his faeces. 'That will teach her' he grinned idiotically, as he imagined the life of tortures that the horrible and unpleasant knife probably had. 'On second thought...' It would make everything more painful and non-hygienic. In fact, it would be much better if he kept it with the blade always dried and just above something burning or the like... Then cleaned it with alcohol. "Are you *bleep*ing with me?! I will *bleep*ing cut your throat!" 'You mean my jugular, Tarzan?', Kage was surprisingly uninterested, but his most logical side knew that he could not turn his back and leave. "I have about 900 yen with me. I have this watch-" Kage showed the man his arm, a fine digital watch, but nothing too special about it. "-I think it's worth about... 1500 yen, maybe less. I have it for a long time now." He turned his hands so the man could se him taking off the watch, all very slow. "Other than that I have a subway pass for students and this cell phone." Kage slowly pushed his right hand into the left interior pocket of his blazer, making sure his left hand would lift the coat so the bandit could see what he was doing. When he took his hand out, he held an orange subway pass and a red Sony Ericsson cell phone, a W660i model. "The thing about the phone... It belongs to a police officer... a detective. He will probably want to track it down; it is not like you can break it to sell in parts." Kage felt something different. The man seemed unease, upset. 'Great, that makes his little knife tickle, I bet.' No good. Perhaps now he would be scared and tried to do something different. 'Now, what can I do to calm him down?' It was not HIS fault, anyway. Sure, he was trying to get away with it without having to hand over the cell phone. Maybe he had lied about the money he had on him and the value o the watch too. It's not like that man would EVER find where he kept his money, and he didn't seem to know much about digital watches, either. Hiding the other cell phone would probably be a little hard, though. Kage rolled his eyes as he remembered the real reason why he was doing all that. The Knife was not to be trusted. That little bitch was probably aiming for his gut. It had been seducing that man for a while now, Kage hoped he would take his money and buy a smuggled gun or something. 'Just throw that thing in the sea and let it rust!' The man suddenly became scared. He turned his head wildly, noticing a man who was crudely trying to film the whole conversation from afar. The criminal went mad, charging into battle, swinging the damned mistress in the air insanely. The Good Samaritan had no chance to run or defend himself; he was stabbed several times in the chest, a number between three and thirteen. That all happened in the middle of the street, with several people watching the whole scene, terrified. When the man finally noticed this he ran, screaming and desperate, so desperate he forgot to retrieve the camera which he killed for. He was scared, terrified. He feared Kira, feared that his crime would become of public knowledge, and then Kira would kill him. Kage shook his head in shame; he was somewhat responsible for that man's death. Had he acted like a normal person, handing over his money or trying to stupidly react, that man would not have died. 'No turning back now' he thought. Kage walked over to the man's body, took his red W660i Sony Ericsson from his blazer's left inner pocket ' Oh wait! I'm still holding it in my hand ', turned it on, and called the police. The amateur footage of a man mugging a student and then charging at the cameraman aired the next afternoon. It's content was considered brutal, the video was sent to multiple stations. The criminal was identified as Ryan Gray, South African. --- And then it happens; Karma shows up and proves that it's not Chance's bitch. --- "Please don't kill me! I don't have much money, just about two thousand yen. I have a telephone and this brass ring." A young man, a little girlish to say the truth, was being mugged. A tall man, American if Kage would guess, with long blond hair was the attacker. Kage watched the whole scene from afar, without paying much attention to either of them. Only one thing really did get his attention. The Damned Mistress of Gutting. He would have recognized that perfect gleam and matchless sharpness anywhere, even though he was not near enough to confirm the blade's cut, it was clearly the same. The boy felt he would never be able to fight such terrible force, so he just watched. From afar, unnoticed. "Calm down, I'm not going to do something stupid." The young man said careful. "I'm just going to give you my blue cell phone in the left pocket of my jacket, ok?" "What is Death?" The young man slowly allowed his hand to slide on his pants right pocket. He then stopped, afraid that he had done something risky, and asked. "Do you want to get it or should I do it?" "Do humans really have to die?" The young one seemed confused. He certainly was confused, but Kage knew well what was happening, it had become all too obvious. "GUHHGGH!" "What happened... Mister?" "Why do we have to die?" The man fell quickly to the floor, holding his chest with all strength he had left. "Sir?! Are you alright?! SIR!" "Is there any way to stop death?" The man who was being mugged seemed to forget who was the one in the floor and quickly leaned over him. "SIR! Hang on!" "Why do we die?" Kage felt sorry for the boy, he wanted to save a dead man. "I will... I..." "Do we really have to die?" It was pitiful. "An ambulance! I will go get an ambulance!" "Does it makes sense? Death?" Meaningless. "AN AMBULANCE! SOMEBODY HELP ME, HE IS GOING TO DIE!" "It should make sense..." That man did not deserve it, anyway. "Hey! You there! Help us!" "Then why does it exist at all?" That man deserved to rot without a funeral. His knife should be hurled into the ocean. "Hey you!" "What is Death?" He didn't deserve Kage's sympathy nor his pity. "What the *bleep* are you doing? Help me, you faggot!" "I mean, is it a force?" But, the real guilty would never suffer for the crime. "Hey, you bastard! Look at me!" "Is it something else?" The real guilty would be taken as evidence and then would be given by a corrupt prison guard to a prisoner with good friends. "HEY!" "I find Death very dramatic." It will never stop. "Get your ass out of here and *bleep*ING GET SOMEONE!" "Why?" Not because of Kira. "*bleep*! I will get someone. If you move from there you are a dead man!" "Why do I find Death dramatic?" The young man ran away, desperate to get an ambulance. Kage would certainly not stay there, there was a chance they would associate his death with him, and the way he ignored the poor guy would make police suspect something. He could go home without accusations of being Kira; he didn't need that kind of thing in his life. I fear Death. ~~~~~~~~ OOC: This post... James opened his eyes. another day of being unemployed and bothered constantly by Ginkan. He tryed to ignore the pestering, and to close his eyes once more, but it couldn't be avoided. The fact that his humanity screamed to him as he were to wake, and stay awake until it was darker out.
Darkness... "James James James James James James James James James James James Jame James James James James James James James James James James James James Jame James! Everyday there is an annoying kid who comes by on some metal contraption and throws paper at your apartment complex! Let's kill him and tell him to stop before he dies!" "Ginkan...." "Yes, James Desonto?" "Why do you call me by my full name? And why must you wake me up each morning by saying my name hundreds of times?" "Well, first of all its your name, its better than me calling you a shinigami slave, isn't it? That apple threat you treated me with when I called you that wasn't very nice. And it wakes you up. Its boring to watch humans sleep, since they are both dead and alive at the same time." "I feed you apples daily, and kill one person each day, but that still isn't enough for you, is it? You also have to annoy me to death...." "Death is my job. Finding new ways to cause it is a hobby." Ginkan said, smirking, then picking up an apple and eating it quickly. "You are too...whats the word...'happy' to be a death god. whatever happened to the term 'You are as grim as a shinigami' ?" Ginkan only laughed, while James frowned. He brushed his left hand through his golden brown hair and left his apartment building, slowly followed by the shinigami who always asks too many questions. James was in public, he could not speak to something no one else could see, otherwise he would be as crazy as he was when he couldn't control his restless leg syndrome. suddenly, one question caught his attention. "Where are we going?" James stoped in his tracks and looked up to the sky. He saw nothing there, and looked back to the ground, where he only saw concrete. Life was boring. James went back to his apartment and turned to Ginkan. "I can see why shinigami's exist." "Excellent. And why is that, since I have no clue why." "Life is boring. If everyone could live forever, nothing exciting would happen. Im going to kill more people." "Do you want the eyes?" "Ask me tomorrow. Im going to bed." "But you just got up." "Its light out, and I want to see more darkness. Darkness is...exciting." James said with a smirk, getting back into his bed, only to be annoyed by the constant reminder of his existance. His name. -------------------

Light Yagami sat in his room, hand propping his chin up, and staring at a black notebook. A Death Note. He'd doubted its powers at first until the Shinigami Ryuk had appeared before him. The shinigami had made the notebook's powers all to clear to Light. It had been frightening at first, to learn he had really killed someone. But the more he had thought about it, the closer he got to his current conclusion.
"I have been granted the powers to cleanse this world of crime. Of war. Of evil. If I have power, why shouldn't I use it for the betterment of Mankind?" He'd been using the notebook for a week now and quickly grown used to the idea of killing others. But... "But it's not enough. I can only write after school and before I go to sleep..." Light sighed and leaned back in his chair, finding his face inches from Ryuk's own horrid mug. Light jumped, but quickly regained his composure. "Don't do that, Ryuk," the highschool student said. Ryuk...the existence of Shinigami itself was somewhat frightening. Especially considering their appearance. "I suppose it would be terrifying for the average person..." Light admitted. Ryuk wore nothing but black and had a demon like face with large, yellow eyes and black hair spiked upward. He was certainly intimidating until you got to know him. "K, Light." The Shinigami backed off a short distance. Light sat back up abruptly as the news began. His eyes narrowed as the broadcast went on. "Seven murdered in one night, Ryuk. Apparently, there are still some who do not fear Kira..." Light sneered at the television screen, "I'll find this murderer and cast judgment on him. No one escapes Kira's judgment! But before that..." Light opened the Death Note, "I'll be by killing a few more criminals." Ryuk grinned as Light began to write. How many would die tonight? Tomorrow? Next week? The shinigami knew the number would be in the thousands, perhaps the millions, before everything was over. OOC: That takes care of both of my characters for this chapter. -------------------

.:The World:. This world is full of disgust it's all a chaotic mess This world is full of disgust everything needs to disappear This world is full of disgust of death, hatred, misery, and lust. Death is all around us it's the worst fear of men Death is all around us it'll take us to our ends Death is all around us it's the creator of all our sin *~ - - - *~*~*~ - - - - - - - *~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* - - - - - - - ~*~*~* - - - ~* Artemis Farren stalked the dark lonely streets while gazing up into the hazy night sky to see a bright, shiny gem shaped moon. He felt an ever-so strong warmth inside while examining the night's most beautiful possession, it fought the coldness that the dark night was causing him. "The moon, I bet it's the only thing out there that isn't a complete rotten mess like the world itself. If only I could escape to it." Artemis thought dreamily. Then suddenly a cold breeze chilled his hands, running up his arms and into his chest. All the warmth the moon had given him was now gone and now all that remained was complete and total emptiness. Artemis's heart was now dark like it occasionally got and hate soon escaped him. He noticed in the distant darkness of the long street way he walked a freakishly large figure floating into the trees, what could it be? A human!? Artemis froze for a second, completely stopped walking, then he shouted out into the distance, "What is your name my follower?" He didn't expect anyone to answer him since he wasn't completely sure that he had actually seen a human. So he continued to stay put in his position while letting the moon shine silver rays down onto and across his face. The distant and hidden chirps from grasshoppers stopped and all lay still, suddenly another voice spoke. "Your follower?" the voice questioned then cackled, "heh heh, I am nothing at all to you if your assuming me your follower, I am but my own follower. Independent and nothing else, to you I am only here for one reason." The figure completely stopped laughing and then sharpened, "I have come for what you've found!" The figure's voice raised and then from beneath the bases of the dark, brown colored leafed tree came a tall creature that was totally out of this world, it had never been seen by human eyes before. It's empty looking jewel shining eyes glared down at Artemis with unimaginable disgust. Artemis never tended to get scared and it was very difficult to even get a slight jump out of him these days but this creature, the one who had been stalking him managed ever too well to scare Artemis so much that he fell back onto the hard pavement of the street. "Augh!!" Artemis coughed trying to speak but kept choking on his words. Finally though, he managed to make out, "W-w-who... a-a-re you?" He stated while his body began shaking with fear of what the creature would do to him. He continued to stay on the ground afraid to get up as well. Wondering if it was the end for him. The darkish looking creature shadowed over Artemis as he stepped forward towards him. It's eyes seemed to be made of large gemstones, glowing red with rage at the mear human. The rest of his head seemed to be covered by other gems making him out to look like he was one big jewel-made monster. To Artemis he belonged on a throne chair. "Who am I you ask?" he chuckled, "I heh-heh am Jastin." His voice lowered and his rage began to decrease, "I can guess by the half scared and half blank look on your face that your wondering what I am exactly. You humans are way too blind and unintelligent, you all really need to open your eyes and see what's really here, what's really out there in this universe. You all think your the most dominate and incredible species out there, oh are you ever-so wrong. I guess I'm going to have to just come out and say it then," the creature sighed, "young human, I am a Shinigami!" His jewel-eyes twinkled. Artemis shivered and shook as the monstrous creature continued to hover over him, "A-a-a... s-shinigami!!!" His voice shook out of shock of what was happening. Is this really happening? Am I really in the presence of a Shinigami!? "Y-you mean to tell me your... your a god of death?" Artemis gasped beginning to rise up from the ground while rubbing his backside from having laid there for so long. "I always considered Shinigami's to be myths and legends made up solely to entertain humans.. but no.. I never imagined them to be real." Jastin stretched his back straight up so that to Artemis it was almost like his head was completely covering the moon shading all the existing light from him, so now his surroundings appeared even darker. "This is exactly why humans disgust me. They use myths and legends simply to entertain themselves never once knowing that what they are saying could indeed be real." Jastin's low voice sharped with anger, "So yes! Mear human I am a god of death! Us shinigami's are far more greater then you humans, we are the ones who cause you your deaths, we have the power and advantage over you! We're stronger." Artemis brushed the rest of the dirt off himself from when he had fallen. He now stood straight up so that he could get a clear image of this shinigami Jastin. He appeared to be wearing many necklaces that covered his chest, they all looked to be made from minerals and ores not known to this world. His chest also, besides the necklaces, looked to be just bare ribs and bones, this was the same for his arms and legs, his bones were all well hidden though by the many jewels, gems, necklaces, bracelets, and brooches he wore. Suddenly with all these gems and jewels that were sparkling in Artemis's eyes his mind began to escape from the cold, dark street night onto something else, a memory. ~~~~~ The sun was shining down on the city store windows and streets that day. It was a nice summer afternoon, the temperature wasn't too hot, it was just warm enough to manage well outside. A middle-aged man and woman, a couple, paced down the street walkway, making their way towards where the street would curve into a corner where a popular store resided. The woman ran in front of her husband motioning him towards the store, "Oh hunny, we have to go in, please! I've been saving up for days to buy this brooch that will match my dress perfectly. Hunny, if I cannot buy the brooch I won't go to the formal dance and that's that!" She pleaded coming to a stop at the front entryway to the store while failing to catch a look inside. The man sighed, "Well if you must insist on it even more, and if it means you'll go to the formal dance no problems at all... then I guess... I have no problem with going in the store for a quick moment to let you buy this brooch thing you want." Her mouth widened creating a big smile across her face and she, before the man could change his mind, opened the door to the store and walked in, the man followed. Suddenly the atmosphere around the couple changed drastically, they no longer were outside under the warm heat of the sun but in a room filled with cold, desperate hatred. The woman froze in front of the man, her skin went to a chill, and she began to shake. "Hunny? Why are you stopping I have no room to get into the store ple-" The man's voice was cut off by a sharp, desperately sick man who was standing in the center of the store. "Shut your mouth! Don't say one more word or I'll... I'll blow your head off!" The man shakily but firmly stated while holding a large 12-gage gun to the head of the shop's clerk. The face of the gun was aimed for the forehead of the innocent man. "All of you shut up! Shut up now and don't say a word if you expect to live!" The man's hand that was holding the gun shook a little but then straightened against the clerk man's forehead. "Hand me all the cash you have in that register plus I want you to fill a bag with all the jewelry you have for sale! Do it now! Don't just stand there or "bang!" your gone!" The crazy man shouted and then pushed the gun into the man's forehead even more to push him towards the register and then the bag. The woman at the door continued to stand frozen with fear of her own life but for the man, he felt different about the situation though. "I can't let this go on or someone's going to die... I have to do something." The man thought to himself, then suddenly raised his voice so the rest of the store could hear, "Stop what your doing! Don't give this crazy man any money, stop!" Suddenly when the man holding the gun noticed this man speak he removed the gun's face from the clerks forehead pointing it for the women that was standing by the front entrance window, "Nice job for opening your mouth you stupid man, this woman here will be paying for what you've said." Before he could click the trigger though, the man who had spoken before jumped from his frozen position at the rug of the store, ran towards the man holding the gun, and then jumped on him. In the second it took him to run toward the man, the jewel thief, it was too late. "Click" and the gun went off making a loud "BANG!" sound. The gun fired blowing through the chest of the man who had ran toward the thief and then hitting the woman in the face completely disfiguring her head, killing her instantly, and then stopping. The jewel thief fell to the ground as the charred body of the man he had just blown up fell on top of him, blood flying everywhere. The woman's body also fell to the ground hitting the glass door of the Jewelry store, smearing blood all over it as it leaked from wounds. The woman and the man were both dead. ~~~~~ Artemis's vision appeared again, his memory was gone, and now he remained face to face with the terrifying shinigami, Jastin. "Stubborn human! Why do you continue to ignore me?" Artemis's mind was shocked awake and he began to wonder if while he was gone he had been asked questions by the shinigami, no wonder he thought he was ignoring him. Artemis spoke up, coughing a little and then adjusting his voice, "I don't mean to ignore you Jastin. I'm sorry, what is it you want again?" He asked sort of shakily, wondering if what he said could be the wrong thing and then in this seconds time could cost him his life just as how his parent's lives had been taken. Jastin's eyes rolled, he crossed his long boney arms, but then focused on Artemis, "Silly human, you are so very rude. It's truly unkind to drift off when talking to a shinigami, but never the less I have no control over that factor." He sighed then uncrossed his arms, "I'm here because your the one who found the book. The book I dropped into the human realm a few days ago. You have it I am sure, show me!" He demanded. Artemis squinted his eyes trying to focus back onto the situation at hand, the book? And then suddenly it hit him, oh the book! "The notebook of death?" Artemis questioned swinging his small pouch from off his back so he could reach into it and release the notebook from it's clutches, "this silly thing?" he showed holding a black notebook in front of him. "Human! That is not a silly thing at all, it's a death note for crying out loud! It's unnatural to your kind, unreal and as powerful as ever, more powerful then any other murder weapon in this world." Jastin shouted introducing Artemis to the notebook's real power. "It's real?" Artemis responded lowering the book to his side while he stared at it and flipped through it's blank pages, "I assumed it was a fake book that someone made simply to entertain themselves in some way, it sorted looks like a child of 9 or 10 made it, I haven't even written a single word in the thing.. but for it to be real..." Real? This notebook of death? Being real? Impossible! Well... then again I am in the presence of shinigami. A real shinigami! Then yes! This notebook, it would have to be real! It's a real Death Note! -------------------

OOC: Huzzah~! XD I've found a group of excellent Role-players!
Since Lei is giddy about such an excellent turn of events . She decked out her art requests in one blow. And seeing as I only got requests from Zero and Ish, no one else should complain. Lei's Art~! Thank you and... You're welcome. >=P (I'll add it to the extras section and the character profiles. Alright, for the next chapter, as I stated, this is where the story is pushed into motion. Time Line: The police force is wondering who the hell could be killing all the criminals. L makes his presence known. The public is starting to believe that Kira is punishment from above. So on, and so forth. I'll be checking daily, so I'll determine when there is an appropriate stopping point. ((I'll probably create a tie up post, and then post the new events that coincide with the next chapter. So Lei will work hard. >=3 )) I've got quite a few plot ideas. So you don't have to worry, for now. Since there is an utter lack of a female presence in the forum (You will all learn that Lei is more manly than she is girly. Romance is icky. This post will be slightly longer, since L is also coming into the picture. Lei will finish her post as soon as she can. So please be patient. ^_~ No posting until then. Until the view. -------------------
