Canyon duel part 2 against Darius

In part 2 of the canyon duel vs Darius(Darius chasing me) the game is ending before the finish line (even though I am ahead) and giving the message that I lost. I have gone through careers on all 3 car types, but get the same result on this final race (even seems to be happening at the same spot on the course). Anyone else seeing this? I keep reading how other people are winning, but can't get passed this spot.

use a muscle car, and try to pass darius on the first part, if you lose, just press 2 and restart from part 1. I would prefer using viper if u r using muscle. I passed him on the first turn, I hit him and he crashed on the rocks. don't make the accelration to high.try to focus on handling more.
