In reference to the original Poster in this Thread; no-one can make your decisions for you. It's like asking someone whether you should support Arsenal or Chelsea, which type of pizza you should prefer, whether purified water tastes better than volcanic water - you'll get a lot of opinions either way, but your opinion is ultimately up to you. Some prefer Ruby, some prefer Sapphire - neither is unquestionably superior to the other. 	Both these pkmn have useful abilities. If you prefer fire or grass pkmn, go with Ruby. Groudon has Draught which causes sunny day, which powers up fire moves and allows solar beam to be used without the wait. It also allows some grass pkmn to move quicker. If you prefer water or electric pkmn, go for sapphire. Kyogre has a power that causes rain. This lets some water pkmn move quicker and powers up their moves and it lets electric pkmn become more accurute (Thunder hits a lot more ). -------------------

	You get your chance to catch the pokemon later in the story. If you dont even have the game, it's kinda pointless in going through all the detail because you probably wont even know what I'm talking about. You get your chance, and to continue the story, you either have to defeat the legendary pokemon (Groudon if you have Ruby, and Kyogre if you have Sapphire), or catch it. I recommend 100% you try everything to catch it because if you just defeat it.. you'll never get your chance back. But it's not like you'll die if you dont have one of those pokemon. There're many great pokemons out there that can be better than Kyogre and Groudon.. if trained properly with the right moves. Even though there couldnt be a better pokemon with Kyogre's Drizzle ability and Groudon's Drought ability.. Still. You cant even take your legendaries to Battle Tower challenge. I try not to depend on my legendary pokemons. ------------------- Granado Espada

	I prefer Ruby because I like the pkmn on it and fire red is a lot like pkmn red... Then again, it has a lot of the Kanto pkmn and quite a few of the Johto pkmn, so I guess it depends what you like more out of Johto/Kanto or Hoenn -------------------

	My good friend gave me sapphire for free, i completed the game, it was a great game, i am borrowing ruby from my friend and i think it is an amazing game, very fun. My personal response would be sapphire because it was my first out of ruby and sapphire. But if you want a great game get pokemon emerald, its good because you get both kyogre and groudon, more features to the game as well.
