setting holidays at the beggining of the game is a good idea

I'd love to see Holidays back. But you should be able to change whether you want certain holidays included and such.

i don't know why they took halloween out of wild world.

I think that they should add stuff like Christmas and Halloween and Easter, but maybe give them different names. Like, for a few days in December, villagers and you exchange gifts and stuff but it's called "The Giving Week" or something. And for Halloween they could simply give costumes to wear if you celebrate it and decorations if you want to use them. Trick or treating would be SO much fun.

You should be able to choose your religion, then you get the holidays for that religion.

Perhaps this all boils down to a question of religion with the interview given to you on the way into town. Then maybe it could give you a set of holidays depending on the religion you choose. But that may be a little... intrusive? Or, Nintendo could take the liberty of putting in every religious holiday, and add the rest depending on the country or nationality you choose. But, they may just do a disappointing repeat of Wild World's completely boring holiday system. We are, after all, shooting a little high of the game's capabilities.

This came to mind, and since there's already a thread I'll bump this instead of making another thread.

Anyway, the way I see it actual holidays should be brought back from the GCN version, but don't necessarily call them "Christmas" and such. Just have a holiday with themes from the holiday it's based on, or if there are a lot that go on around that time (Christmas/Hannukah/etc.) add in some themes from each possibly. All of the GCN holidays were pretty cool... and then we got the Acorn Festival? Wtf Nintendo

...But then, wouldn't we miss out on a lot of holiday themed furniture and such D:? That's the only real problem, keeping everyone from getting the same furniture. We should all be able to play the same game instead of only being able to experience some of it.
