	狸 or タヌキ means Tanuki when translated into english characters Tanuki is the name for the the japanese Raccon dog. =)

	A tanuki is NOT a raccoon. It merely looks like one, hence being called a raccoon dog. That's like saying a swallowtail butterfly is a swallow or that a flying fox is a fox. The raccoon in harvest moon games is actually a tanuki and was changed to "raccoon" in the english version because americans would have no idea what a tanuki is and would get confused. Google "difference between tanuki and raccoon" or something.
