The King Fish is very difficult to catch and is the most
valuable fish to ship in the whole game (1,600 G raw/1,630 G
grilled). Go to the 30th floor of Ganache Mines. If you are
lucky or observant then you will see a silverish small looking
fish swimming in the water. He also likes to get right up next
to the marble columns in the water. He will swim all around in
the water very close to very far away. No matter where he is
line up your fishing pole/line so that when you toss the bobber
out then it will hit him smack on the head. Charging helps but
is not entirely necessary. You need to have your stamina all
the way filled but you can be awake or asleep. You will
probably have to throw out your line over and over again as the
fish nibbles on it. It may even take a couple of days to get
down there and still have enough time to spend to catch the
King Fish. I have caught him on a level 2/silver rod and also
in another game file on a high level rod/gold. Just keep trying
and be patient. I have never caught more than one King Fish per
visit but it may be possible. Money wise, the King Fish is not
really worth it because you could just go down collecting
mushrooms twice (two trips in one day) and get more money then
dealing with the King Fish. Catching the fish does fullfill
one of the fish list entries and also one of the cooking
entries and I'm sure that it would win the cooking contest
(even if the cooking contest is random).
