Two suggestions:

Journals
Being a harvest moon game, I think that having journals would be great. Basically what they are, is to talk about your progress in the game. They have been used in some other forums as well, and were a great activity booster.

Time Capsule
Surely you know of the Neoseeker Time Capsule, I tink that one for this forum would be fun. You would write down your animals, how much G you have, and stuff like that. It could be opened every few weeks I guess.

Journals are okay, and I do think we have one here, but it's not as fun if you're able to post whenever you want, it's more fun to look back on your game after a few weeks and say, "I remember when I was there!"

But even now you don't have to finish every animal, you can just put up what has been done by yourself and members.
