I think this is a really good game in many ways, but is marred by some problems, which I seriously hope are addressed in whatever sequel is bound to come next.

Here is something I haven't heard mentioned: Where the hell is the HUD?!! Okay I know that the vehicles in this game are all so goddamned slow and the races are so insanly long that sometimes driving a race is a lot like watching paint dry. That said, however, why is there no Speedometer? Why is there no little race-radar, showing the shape of the track and your position on it like you see in ALL racing games?? While we are on the subject, WHY THE *bleep* is there no indicator as to where your position is relative to all your AI opponents? I am amazed that the ONLY way to know where the AI is located is to HAVE THEM ON YOUR SCREEN!! Huh?? Oh wait, that's right, you always know where at least the losing AI are, they are *bleep*ing with you. <eyeroll>

Well that's all I can think of for now. Hahaha sorry for sounding so negative. I actually like the game overall, but complaining about the things I hate (particularly the difficuly level) diffuses some of my blind rage.

I totally agree with everything you've said, I also hate some of the rocks, they're so misleading at times, some act as ramps, and some look like ramps but they're not. There is also some tiny little rocks that you get stuck behind. (I once lost a race at the last two yards because I got stuck behind a tiny pathetic rock that wasn't even visible)

I would like to be able to customize the cars a bit, just simple things like change the colour of the car would be nice. I can't think of anything else.

I pretty much agree with you, Chiro. You should contact Evolution Studios about improvements for this game, or ones you'd like to see in the possible sequel. In fact, you can do just that right in here.

I asked them if they're making WRC game for the PS3, and two days later i checked my e-mail, and they had replied.

They're not currently making a WRC game, because they're busy making updates for MotorStorm, just so you know. So a two-player mode on a same PS3 is quite possible in the not-so-distant future.

They wouldn't need to update if they hadn't *bleep*ed up in the first place.

Woah, I think you're incredibly wrong about the "Catch Up AI" part Chiro.

Because you are just as capable of going from dead last to first place in a matter of seconds, I do it on numerous occasions, that's what makes this game so much fun.

There is no fun in a racing game when your opponents are never there to even pose a threat to you. It's like in Gran Turismo where I'll race the 70 lap races and I'll lap everyone by like 10 or 20 laps by the end, *bleep*ing BORING.

In this game the AI will actually play dirty and aggressively and it's way more fun than lapping everyone and winning without any challenge at all.

As I said, this has more to do with game mechanics than AI. It's about how godlike the boost is, your competitors have the same advantages and disadvantages as you.

Besides, if you've never won a MotorStorm race with ease and been able to set yourself away from the pack that's your fault and you just need to get better, because I do it all the time. Only the higher up races do I ever have trouble with that.

Oh, and these cars are not slow if you know how to race them. Often times I feel like a rocketbooster with some wheels strapped on in this game, narrowly escaping a rocky death around every bend.

I like the fact that there is no HUD. MotorStorm is not a precise game in the fact that unlike a game like GT you can't just stick to a certain formula and speed when approaching corners and straights. The terrain is bumpy and varies across the track. The only things I really needed to know was that accelerating is fast, and boost is faster.

It's all about this game's pitch to be realistic. In a real race, do you know who is where. Course you don't, unless you see them.

Guys these are just things that I didn't like about the game. In no way am I saying you can't like them. I have very specific taste in gaming and I hate catch-up AI. I don't like the fact that the game sort of waits for me any more than it catches up to me almost always either. I believe that AI should pose a certain nominal challenge so that I can beat the damn game and MOVE ON to something else. The real challenge and ABSURDLY hard difficulty should be online. Vol, I am quite sure that if I cared enough about this game to race you online that it would be more than a challenge and I wouldn't stand a chance against you. That's the way it's supposed to be. However, my philosophy about gaming is that it is supposed to be ENTERTAINMENT not hard work. I work 70-100 hours a week in my new business. When I play games I want to do just that, PLAY, not WORK. I am not interested in breaking my *bleep*ing ass trying to beat a ridiculously difficult game that was programmed by some nerdy, elitist cock-sucker who thinks that I should have to sell my firstborn male child and rip my balls off (through my mouth) in exchange for getting "all gold medals". Honestly? You got my money already, what *bleep*ing more do you want from me? lol

You see, this is why I LOVE games like Halo. Because I can beat that game on its hardest level (Legendary) without feeling like I had to sell my soul or get my Doctorate in Halo-ology to do it. Now if I go online I will get my ass handed to me in that game too, but guess what? That's the way it's supposed to be. Let the BIGGEST challenge come from online, and beating the game still be entertaining to people like me, professional guys who don't necessarily want to spend 16 hours on one damn level before finally finding the cheap ass method that these dumbass programmers want me to discover to beat their damn game.

All I was saying was that it doesn't have to do with the AI, it has to do with the gameplay mechanics and you have the equal opportunity to catch up to them when you're in dead last place after you crash or something.

You can dislike it all you want, I was just saying it wasn't AI related but the fact that it has to do with just how powerful Boost is.

It's the dumb AI that make this game bad..

Catch Up AI is annoying online but offline I have no problem with it. I prefer to be challenged all the way through the race instead of getting into first place and then never seen them again for the rest of the race like in GT.

As for the AI. I love it. They actively try to get past you and do everything they can to push out of the way unlike other racing games were the cars are afraid to touch you.

I also prefer the HUD the way it is. Simple and not everwhelming. This is an arcade game. I don't need to know how fast I'm going or what the map looks like. I just want to race without being constantly reminded about how far ahead/behind I am by the little radar showing my position.

lol I don't think he meant dumb literally. I think he was saying that its dumb that the AI is so smart, aggressive and so easily catches up to you.

I don't see how that's a bad thing... besides it varies from race to race. There's a learning curve and the game gets more difficult as time goes on, as any game should.

I mean they crash into you and take you out when there is absolutely no benefit to them at all. It's just bloody rediculous and makes really angry.
