To answer the quick question about the decayed body, is When Palpatine accepted and fully took in the complete powers of The Dark Side, it damaged his mortal body. But, since his powers do not rely on his physical appearance, it doesn't realy matter. But, he also clones himselfs and transfers from clone to clone in order to stay alive and young...

OH!!! NOW I SEE YOUR PROBLEM!!! NO!!!

When Palpatine keeps clones stored, and when he dies, he has to transfer his spirit into them. With his spirit, he brings his force powers... You cannot CLONE hundreds of Palpatines and each of them be as powerful as the original... otherwise he would have made his OWN army... NOW, infact, if Sidious WAS a clone, he would not have the power over the force like Palpatine does. The force cannot be cloned in such a destructive manner, or When Count Dooku/ Darth Tyrannus was searching for a clones to make, he would have cloned himself into millions of Sith Warriors. It doesn't work that way.

I'm not sure on that one, but, on the BOUNTY HUNTER GAME, Count Dooku/Tyrannus is told by Sidious to kill a Jedi and find a suitible cloneable. Tyrannus sets a bounty on the Jedi, which Jango fett, at the end of the game claims. Tyrannus hires Jango to be cloned. Jango agrees if he can have the first clone to himself, unaltered (Boba Fett). Now, in the movie, Dooku is suprised at how the Rebuplic got an army so quickly... which... is odd... so Sifo Dyas might have gone behind Dooku's back or something. But thats how the clones were made.

2) Which is how palpatine lives sooo long. But... he DOES clone himself because of his old body... he might have somewhere between III and IV, cause he is old in III, and 30 years is a long time, even for Sith...

3) Good question, but since Sidious and Palpatine are the same person... it is a simple answer. As sidious, Palpatine got the Nemoidians to attack Naboo. In doing so, the last Chancellor was replaced by Palpatine who claimed HE could stop this attack if he was elected. So, now HE is chancellor. THEN, as Sidious, he got Dooku to make a droid army AND a clone army. NOW, Since the Kaminoans wouldn't know better, Dooku MIGHT have filed the Clones be made under a FALSE name, of a dead Jedi, so no questions would be asked, besdides, "HOW?" NOW that the jedi know what is going on, Palpatine suggests he be given power to create an army... since he knows an army is made. Doing this, gives him supreme military rights, and even more power than before... In ep III, I'd expect to see Palpatine abuse those powers even further... but if you understand this, and think I'm right let me know... cause... this is my beleivf.

DARTH SIDIOUS IS EMPOROR PALPATINE!!! Coun't DOOKU aranged for the clones to be made, however, he might have gone by the name sifo dyas, so when the Jedi found out, they would not know who it was.

I KNOW it was Dooku who hired Jango, and SIDIOUS/PALPATINE hired dooku. If you look at it politicaly it fits. I think. ^_^'

In creating this secret army, and creatnig the clone wars, This made Palpatine rise in power... this is all he wants... he will proclaim himself EMPORER aftwerwards.

Fair do's it's an intersting theory though. Where did you learn you cant clone mediclorients? Sounds about right but I've never heard it before.

Well, now that I think about, he really COULDN'T have cloned himself... in the movies... cause that would probably require a LOT of backstory to add as to HOW he is able to transfer his 'soul' to the next clone, and I don't think lucas would waste time explaining that, and if he DID Have palpatine be cloned, and NOT explain how, it would leave a lot of people confused... So, I don't think he WOULD show him be cloned outside of those books.

Naw, Palpatine and Sidious were always meant to be the same person. Cloning the force should be possible, however you cannot clone mastery, so a new clone will be as out of touch to the force as Luke was in A New Hope. (Before he met Ol' Ben)

The very first book of the expanded universe, either 1994 or 1995, was by Timothy Zhan- Heir of the Empire. It was about a clone of Palpatine, Jorus C'Boath who, due the Palpatine's connections with the force and being who he was, had taken up the reigns of the falling empire. Towards the end of the book, C'Boath actually cloned Luke Skywalker (In which Mara Jade defeated the clone, completing her last mission left by the real Emperor, to kill Luke Skywalker). Neither C'Boath or Clonewalker were able to master the force completely. Given the fact that they were clones, and had nobody to train them, and the fact that C'Boath was just insane (clone gone crazy) didn't help none.

Dooku would not have cloned himself, rather, I doubt he would have been allowed to. Palpatine always wanted to be the major domo of the galaxy, him, and him alone. As a Sith, he wanted an apprentice, but he held true to the rule of "two- master and apprentice". Having a crapload of dark jedi running around just wouldn't sit right with his ideals.

Also, given the fact that he was manipulating EVERYTHING, from the clones to the droid army, I'm sure he was perfectly aware that clonetroopers were more than enough. The war was, all in all, a facade, a way he could manipulate galactic government into letting him sit at the throne of the republic. Once that happens, his little war plays out exactly how he wants it, just a simple play with no true complications; that is until he's asked to give up power and is also partially discovered by the Jedi. But by that time, it's too late. He has created an army of soldiers, and even witout Anakin, more than likely would have been able to hunt down every Jedi himself. The real kicker was just getting control of government to the point where he could control just who was hunting who.


Wasn't Sypho Dias (sp) Dooku's new apprentice? Or just another Jedi that Palpatine manipulated, but had fate caught up with before he could fill Dooku's shoes?
